Monte Allums Boss SD-808 Mod Plus Kit

The kit itself is pretty easy to use if you're familiar with electronics. I could see a beginner getting confused with just a picture of the circuit board and a letter on each item to be changed. A brief description of what each part changed does would be nice.

The sound I get from this pedal after the mod is absolutly unbeilevable. The tone has gone from harsh and lifeless to rich and full. Bass is not to boomy and the highs are'nt harsh and shrill. The distortion can go from nice and mellow or in your face Metal. My setup is as follows, Kramer modified guitars > Nady XR-61 wireless > Morley PWA wah > Boss CS-2 > Boss NS-2( with the Boss SD-1 and a CE-3 in the loop) > Moddded Peavey VTM 60 > ZOOM 1202 in the effects loop > Peavey 412MS with 2 Eminence GB12's and 2 Eminence Swamp Thangs. I have the Burr Brown chip in the SD-1 and use it as a preamp boost. I can achieve a very Metal type sound with this setup.

It's a boss pedal and since you're adding high quality parts I don't think it should ever give any problems.

Have not had to use with this pedal, but I did e-mail him with a question on my MT-2 and never got a response so I will leave this blank.

I play mostly old school metal as a hobbyist and I love this Mod Kit. It gives me all the distortion I can possibly use and sounds great compared to the original pedal. I've been playing for 23 years and I finally have the sound I've been searching for. It does increase the hum of the pedal a bit but in the loop of the NS-2 that is all elliminated. If it were lost or stolen I would deffinatly buy another pedal and install it in that one. It is that good.
