As easy as it gets - where else can you get 1.4ms of beautifully timbered decay without turning on a computer or going thru a bunch of menus? Expression pedals work for the main controls - sweet!!!! I can plug a keyboard, console line out, instrument without worrying about a line/inst switch. Smooth solid controls. Interfaces in many ways with my Voyager....

Super warm and sweet like cinamon toast. Warmer on the longer delay setting. Ability to overdrive for a fat saturated tone. I use it with my Voyager, Bass, Guitar, and as an FX loop for my recording setup, even on my drums!!! Rock tha dub like a tape delay for your brothas and sistas. I havent had the heart to put it in line with any other digi fx cuz it seems sacreligeous, cant imagine using digi fx on my Voyager anyway, right? You can use a pedal to get cool harmonincs and phasing sounds by adjusting the delay time while playing. You can throw in oscillators or randomizers from CV sources to make it a sweet chorus. This is much much more than just a one trick pony... There is a little teeny tiny bit of noise but I dont freakin care cuz this thing sounds awesome, the character of it is just plain lush :P

easy to make this thing sound good. it has all the basic controls a delay needs and the format is efficient.

amazing sound quality. there are two settings: short which goes to 700 ms and long which goes to 1400 ms. the short setting is very very good because the delays are clear and not as 'dark' as a lot of other analog delays. I A/B'd it with my MF-104 (the original, not the Z) and the difference was pretty big. the MF-104 has a darker and almost overdriven-sound to the repeats even with the drive knob way down, the SD is clear and sounds like an ideal analog repeat to me. it's clear enough to get string sounds to repeat when you move positions on your guitar.
on short settings you can achieve great slap-back or reverb sounds. when I enable both the MF-104 and MF-104SD: at both very short but slightly different delay times, I can get a flanger; and when both at the "same" settings, the repeats generate harmonics on their own that sound really great.
setting the feedback knob above 8 (I think, from "memory") sets this thing to self-oscillate and you'll be amazed at it's think analog warmness. it's a gorgeous thing.
my chain is: volume pedal > tuner > TS-9 > MD-2 Mega Distortion > AD-80 Analog Delay > Moog MF-102 Ring Modulator > Moog MF-105 MURF FilterBank > Moog MF-101 Lowpass Filter > Moog MF-103 Phaser > Moog MF-104 Analog Delay > Moog MF-104SD Analog Delay > EH Electric Mistress Flanger > DD6 Digital Delay > RV-5 Reverb.

this is an amazing pedal. I'd be pretty pissed if I didn't get my hands on one since there are only 250 available to mankind.
after comparing this to my original MF-104, I love it much much more. the only reason I'll keep it is because there aren't too many around and I don't need the cash. the MF-104SD takes care of ALL my analog delay needs. 1.4 seconds! it was a great thing to hear a nice warm analog delay with such a long range. don't think there's another on the market, I could be wrong though.
I compared it to my maxon AD-80 and it blows it away. in every way, sound quality, time, functionality, etc.
there is nothing I hate about this pedal. find one!
if it were lost or stolen I'd go completely ape-sh*t.
