A wah just could not be easier to use. It does not include a manual but its not a must. Just plug it in and your ready to rock!

I'm playing an Epiphone les paul custom elitist through a Fender hotrod deluxe. I also own a boss OD-20 and a behringer V-amp 2. At first I had problems with background noise but then I swithed my powersupply to a regulated one and now I have not encountered any unwanted noise. So now the sound is great especially through nasty high-gain sounds, but its also useable for lighter sounds. The contour wah feature is also a nice bonus on it because it makes the wah even more flexible.
It would deserve full marks if it had more versatile sounds through a clean channel. Overall I think it sounds great.

Reliability : 10
Built like tank. I have not encountered any problems with it.
Superb quality!

I play everything from rock to metal and it suits everything I have needed it for in the past year I have owned it. I've been playing the guitar for about five years.
If it were stolen I would definately get a new one because it is such a great product. It's not very comparable to any other products than the VAI Badhorsie Wah because of the electro-optical switch and the VAI and VAI II are practically the same product just with the little bonus of a contour wah its seriously a product to consider if you are purchasing a wah-wah pedal.

VERY easy to use, the main reason I got is was for the electro-optical switching.

Sound Quality : 1
SUCKS! Muddy at the low end, nasal at the high end NO MIDRANGE whatsoever.
For those of you who are reading that it cuts out volume and changes tone, it's true.
I was really expecting more.

Uh, just had it one day.

I don't like it, thinking about trading it in and getting a dunlop, I just need to find the electro-optical dunlop.
Steve Vai couldn't be using this, it's crap.

I tried many wah wah's and this is the best so far
I'm reading in some reviews about tone loss , muddy sounds ,.....
I hooked my horsie into a jmp1 preamp/9200amp.esp guitar with emg81 pickups
And it sounds like great to me.NO signal loss.
I have tried dunlop and vox wah wah's in the same equitment speaking about noise.

Reliability : 10
What can i say its build like a leopard tank.

The bad horsie 2 wah sucks my ass in the tonal dept, but I bought it for the ease of use. so, this wah gets a 10 in this dept. I bought it for the switchless feature. I haven't really used the contour feature (on perpose), but the switch for the function is toooo close to the wah pedal itself. I keep accidentally clicking the contour on and off with the side of my foot.

Sound Quality : 1
this pedal sucks as far as tone goes. It makes everything muddy as hell, and if you go over halfway twards the toe position, the damn thing squeels. The upper register wah can wake the dead. I use A gibson sg standard that goes straight into the wah pedal, and the pedal goes straight into a jcm 200 dsl 100 head, and the head runs to a 1960a slant cab, with 4 celestion gt75's. The wah pedal is the only effect i use, and this one sucks. I don't like steve vai, but he is a great player, and he uses this thing all the time, I know he uses this thing with carvin amps, and his ibanez jem guitars. He must have some elaborate eq system set up, because there is no way this pedal stands alone in his rig.

Reliability : 10
yes it is built like a tank.

Ease of Use : 8
To simple to use, it's as easy as stepping on a cat's tail to get your sound.

Sound Quality : 7
Here's where I get Critital the switchless feature is great but the electrionics that make this possable I think are responsible for the noise that is present when there is no signel from the guitar.I have read this in other reviews,i.e. claiming to here a 60 cycle hum. As far as the pedal it self I have not noticed any coloration in tone or signel loss.

Reliability : 10
Built like a tank, and the electronics in side are very basic.

Customer Support : 10
Outstanding, I have spoke with Bill at morly and he had spent plenty of time with me on the phone answering questions prior to my buying the pedal.

Overall Rating : 9
I play all styles of music and though this pedal is geared more twards the rock spectrum it works fine where ever you need it. For thoes of you looking at this pedal try it out first on your amp.I run a mesa road king and it sounds great on the front end of the amp. It does not work in the effects loop.......bad noieses happen there. Depending on how much gain you use it can have a bad result as well, you need to have signel going through it befor you step on it

There isn't really a manual, but it's really simple to use. I really how as soon as you press down on it, the wah engages. There is also the contour feature, which is a good idea.

Sound Quality : 5
This is where it gets bad. I'm using the Wah through a Boss metalzone, a Boss DD-5, a Boss RV-2, and then into a Fender Princeton 65 although I have also tried it going through my Laney. Here are the problems. First off, after the 12th fret I can't really hear much wah. Next, the wah doesn't sound natural at all, it jumps out and then abruptly stops. Next, the wah doesn't cut through the mix at all. Someone else mentioned how you lose some volume and I've definitely noticed that. When you first step on it, there is a dramatic loss of tone and volume, and then when you press down fully, all of the sudden, the volume and treble rises dramatically. Next, the effect lingers on for a second or two after you have released your foot and then theres a pop noise. Next, although I see it as a shredders wah, there isn't enough wah even on the lower frets for one to hear yourself. I hear people saying they use the wah for accenting their notes as they shred, but the problem is that when one shreds it isn't often past the 12th fret (and thus you can no longer hear the wah) and next, the wah effect is much more audible clean than with heavy distortion and unfortunately I play with a lot of distortion. In contour mode, this pedal is really noisy, and it's already noisy in the normal mode. Even when I added batteries, the problem was not rememedied. I can tell you, I was using the specified Morley Adapter, and the pedal was sitll noisy. I hate to say it, but I can't really think of much positive about the sound of this wah.

Reliability : 9
Well, on the bright side, it's solidly built and seems quite well made.

Customer Support : 9
Here is where Morley shines. They have practically the best customer support I have seen. I really wish more companies were as nice as them. Only once, have they never replied to my email. I was a bit annoyed that when I asked if they had a solution to the excess noise my wah was making they told me it was the radio stations in the area probably. They also told me to check which adapter I was using, and as I mentioned earlier, I was using the designated Morley one.

Overall Rating : 5
I play old school metal and this pedal really didn't work out. This is one of the biggest disappointments. I got the pedal for my birthday and I was really hoping that it would be great. It was my first wah pedal. Believe me, I really wanted to like this pedal, but I just can't get it to sound good. I don't know, it may be my setup, but I've tried it with friends' amps too, and it just can't compare to other people CryBabies, which have a much more prominent wah, although theirs' break every 3 months unlike mine, heh. When someone earlier had written that this pedal does the Godsmack wah really well, it made me really want to get the wah because I really like the Kirk Hammet and Godsmack type wah sound, but believe me, this wah doesn't get those sounds. Sorry Morley, but I think it's back to the drawing boards. I'm really confused though now because I don't know what wah to buy now. Crybabies sound better but they are so less reliable...

Could not possibly be easier just touch and wackah....

I use a Gibson L.P. custom black beauty reissue with E.H./Boss/Marshall stompboxes for my alternative rock band and a Ibanez 540 s-series with diMarzio into a Digitech valve-fx for my nu-metalband all in a JCM2000 dsl100 and with both setups it sounds sublime, clean funky rhythms or fast metal licks it's all in there. Sounds better when you put a battery in it it seems...

Reliability : 9
Take a spare battery, 'cuz it's a hungry little fella

Never needed to contact them in the 10 years i use Morley products, says enough right?

the only bad thing is its hard to press the countour switch.the switcless makes it a nine

Sound Quality : 5
im am using a les paul studio into a digitech thing through sony studios(the 100 ones)its noisy when u it goes to bypass not that good for studio use.and when the contour mode is up ull get some crappy distortion. im runnig it to a road king head with mesa 4x12. effects are line 6 rack pod. this thing is weak theres no wah in it.if you like a decent blurr, get this.but if ur into kirk hammet stuff this will kill it.im gonna return it for a dunlop 535q cause it has a switch with lets u get the full wah range.better for kirk hammet stuff.

Reliability : 7
i would have a backup just incase its blows up or somehting.its tuff at the outside but week inside.i tried to turn the delay off and the thing broke.

i play metallica to creed(soft rock to lighter metal).and this sucks for metallica only. u cant get a good start just adds more bass or treble.ive been playing for 1 year but im pretty good for one year. i can finger pick with a pick and with out.(stairway to heaven style)speed like zakk wylde.if it were stolen id thank the guy then ask for the money and go buy a 535q.i compared it to the tremonti but this ones better cause u can shape ur sound. i wish it had a wah range or a switch.

Ease of Use : 10
If I have to describe the ease of use of wah pedal to you then you better give up the guitar and try coin collecting.

Sound Quality : 9
I bought this pedal for two reasons. One for its voicing and the other for how it cuts through distortion. And by distortion I don't mean the over the top, drop tuning, death metal kind. I play classic rock and have a VOX AD120VT Modeling Amp (Great Amp) and a Strat with the Pearly Gates humbucker and two Texas Special special single coils. I have used Vox's and Crybaby's all my life until I got this pedal. It has a longer throw to it then either of the other pedals which gives you more control of your wah. To my ear the sweep is in a much sweeter sounding range than the Vox or the Crybaby. The Contour mode (which you kick on with a regular footswitch is subtle and allows level output and tone control or "shelving" as Morley calls it. These are useful but really come under the heading of bells and whistles..... nice but not really necessary. As for the wah in a clean sound... its as good as any. I have only played through VOX's, Crybaby's and Morley's and to be honest they all sound good in a clean mode. The switchless feature of this pedal is PRICELESS! Unless you are one of those people who like to play with your wah pedal on and set in a specific position then you have got to try this. One reviewer said that Steve Vai could not possibly be using this pedal. To him I would ask.... Are you using the same gear he is because if you are not than it stands to reason that it WILL sound different. I previously had bought and sold (a few months later) a Dunlop 535Q. Talking about bells and whistles. That pedal was ridiculous. I thought with all those controls on it I could find the perfect pedal in there somewhere. I couldn't. There is no perfect pedal but this is as close as I have found (FOR ME). And by the way this is the second Morley I have owned. I bought the original Bad Horsie about five years ago and last summer in my quest to find the "perfect" pedal I sold it and bought the Dunlop 535Q based on a review (It was a wah "shoot out" with a bunch of other wah's)I read in a guitar magazine on how great it was. The review also said it was switchless (like Morleys) which was all I needed to hear. After it arrived it was clear that it was NOT switchless. I called Dunlop to ask them what gives and they told me that the review was based on a PROTOTYPE and that there are no current plans to put it into production. That begs the question ... why even make a prototype then and give it to a guitar mag to review. Well even if it had been switchless I still would have gone back to Morley. Even with all that horseshit on it ...it wasn't any better than any other Dunlop pedal I ever used. So I bought the Bad Horsie ll.

Reliability : 10
A very well built and highly dependable pedal.

Customer Support : 10
This company is without question the BEST company I have ever dealt with in my life. When I was looking for a "new" sounding wah and had heard about the Bad Horsie I called up and spoke to a tech there and told him what kind of sound I wanted to coax out of a wah and how I wanted it to cut through unlike other wahs. This guy asked me what kind of guitar I had (they have a bunch of different ones on hand) and then laid the phone down and played through their wahs at different distortion settings on the amp he was using and kept coming back to me on the phone and asked me if I wanted more or less distortion etc.. I was on the phone with him for quite awhile. He was the most helpful person you can imagine. I would have bought that pedal even if I hated it after all he did. Find a company to do that for you. I will never forget that as long as I live. These guys invented customer service. Last fall before I bought the second Morley I had more questions (about the newer Bad Horsie ll) and this time I remembered the guys name. It was Bill Wenzloff. He stayed on the phone with me until all my questions were answered. We even talked about Vox's and Dunlop's and he didn't bad mouth them once. Even when I did! There is no better customer support on the planet than at Morley.

Overall Rating : 10
I replaced it once... only because I was foolish enough to sell it. If it were stolen I would kill the guy who took it but would buy another until I found him!
