The pedal has only two knobs,depth and rate,one imput,two outputs (it's a stereo chorus),the on\off switch,a led and the power supply.That' all,folks.
I wish there would have been a level control (i.e. a mix between non processed and effected signal) and it would have been perfect. However with only two knobs you can get a lot of sounds drastically different and at the beginning you can need the owner's manual (downloadble from Morley's website) which suggests three different setups.Very helpful.
I thing I appreciated is that when you change the rate value the led starts to lighten to signal the frequency of the modulation. It' s great and this is the only chorus I know with this feature but I fear very few of the owners know it and maybe they think the led is gonna be broken!

I read many not very good reviews about the sound of this pedal,so I was surprised by the quality of the sound of this effect, probably the best chorus AT ALL,at least for me.For comparison,a friend of mine has the famous Boss CE1,worshipped as the Holy Grail,at least judging by the reviews of this site.He tried mine and was astonished,he defined the sound "comparable" to the sound of the CE1 and maybe more versatile because the CE1 has only one control,if I remenber well depth, because it also works as tremolo. When he knew the price I paid remained frozen,he spent more than 150? for the CE1!However I think that he wants to sell it he'll recuper the money, while this chorus is not very well known but however I don't think I'll sell it.
This is my setup:
-guitar(Gibson Les Paul Classic,Fender Stratocaster,Jackson RR1)
-wha wha cry baby
-compressor DOD280 (grey box)
-overdrive\preamp DOD250 (grey box)
-equaliser Danelectro fish and chips
-Morley cristal chorus
-Morley wha\volume
-amplifier Vox AC30 TBX

Well, what to say?The sound is very "L.A. '80s".perfect for G'n'R,Bon Jovi etc..but also very versatile if you use well the knobs.Very good Leslie simulation. In mono the sound is great, both with and without distortion, the noise is not very much and no distortion generated at all.

Reliability : 7
The pedal is very good looking, very flat and made of a steel sheet bent in a box shape.Yes,it's metal but it doesn't give me the impression of being very very sturdy.I suggest to be very delicate and not to jump on it!The switch is true bypass but it doesn't seem as though as the DODs for example. However I never had a problem until now so I think if you aren't too rough the pedal will be nice with you as well.

Customer Support : 7
Never had problem, but the pedal is out of production since the end of the 90's so I don't think you can get any help by the company. However the website is old but good and it's very nice that they put the pdf files of the schemes (if something gets wrong) and the owner's manual for free. Not all the companies do it.

Overall Rating : 10
The only thing to say is that this pedal is great, specially for the price I paid (40$ on ebay plus shipping for an example in mint conditions). The problem is that it's very, very though to find and it seems that some of them have problems...but if you find one in good condition get it without thinking too much.

Very easy to use. Two knobs - Depth and Rate. My favourite setting was with the depth a bit under full and the rate between 12 and 1 o'clock. With the rate all the way up you can get a tremolo effect. The manual suggests a few settings but you don't really need it.

Sound Quality : 7
Sound quality is very good with single coil pickups however with humbuckers the sound distorts and sounds very muddy. The setting I mentioned above gives you a chorus sound similar to a Boss Chorus Pedal however the sound is clearer and more organic sounding as well as being more liquid. The sound isn't as intense as a Boss Chorus. Works well with most distortion pedals e.g. Danelectro Fab Tone (although I'm not a big fan of the Shfab Tone).

Reliability : 4
It worked like a treat for over a year, then it didn't want to turn on or would turn on then cut out. The manual recommends using a Morley Regulated 9V Adapter. This might eradicate that problem as the pedal seemed to work a bit more consistantly with batteries (my adapter was fine with my other pedals). My guess was that the switch or the power issue was the problem. The pedal is very strongly built apart from that.

Overall a decent pedal apart from the reliability and the humbucker distortion/muddyness issues. Fairly limited in the range of usable settings. Good for clean, floaty kind of riffs. If your after a really trippy/wacky chorus, look elsewhere.

Easy to use; two knobs. Can be used in mono (with one amp) or stereo (with two amps).

Sound Quality : 7
The sound is nice and glassy. Nice stereo spectrum and depth in with two amps in stereo mode. However, the noise level is too high. There is a constant and pronounced hissing "swoosh" sound when the effect is switch on.

Reliability : No Opinion
In a nice metal case. Looks pretty tough, but I really don't know how reliabile it is.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I don't think they make these anymore, so I assume there is very little support available.

The owner of a local shop let me take this home to try it out on my rig. I think he has had it collecting dust for several years, but was still asking $90 (new old stock.) I might have paid $30, but really the noise level is too high. It sounded good in stereo mode, but not much better than my Boss CE-3 (which is also noisy, but does not have the swooshing hiss of the Morley pedal. I returned it and am still looking for a nice stereo chorus pedal.

Not much to it just two knobs. Depth and rate pretty straight forward.

Sound Quality : 1
I must have gotten a bad one because this thing can't handle much output. It sounds okay with my George Benson though my 68' Fender Band Master. If I play it with my Eric Clapton Strat or the PRS Custom it distorts like you couldn't believe. I don't use it with any distortion nor could I.

Reliability : 2
As I said I must have gotten a bad one. I took it out of my rig. I might use it as a paper weight.

I was very disapointed with this pedal. I have and use Morley Emerald Echo and love it. I bought this on e-bay and would never take another chance on a pedal I have never heard before.

This pedal is really easy to use. Two knobs: rate and depth. Anything from smooth sparkling chorus to extreme, virbrato-like sounds. It is a stereo chorus pedal. Let me tell you, this thing sounds good through one amp but through two it sounds amazing...really. I play it through a Marshall JCM 800 and a silverface Fender Twin simultaneously. I haven't changed anything on the pedal but I might wind up putting a new switch on it because I think that it has been acting up a bit.

Sound Quality : 9
Okay, this is a very good chorus pedal. I have had it for about a year and a half or so. I first got it because I found it on sale at a music shop for like $30 or something. It was on sale because Morley had discontinued them. Anyway, my friend bought a Boss CE-2 recently. This is the chorus pedal that the Police used. We tried the two of them together. Let me tell you, they sounded almost exactly alike. I think that the Morley was a little more subtle and a little brighter sounding though. I prefer the Morley over the Boss myself. The only drawback to the pedal is that it tends to make a lot of noise through high gain amplifiers, like my Marshall. When it is on you can here it going through it's phase. It is sort of loud when you have your amp cranked. Through my Fender it sounds absolutely brilliant. I like using it with a fairly bright setting on the Fender and a little bit of reverb. It just sounds like you're sprinkling gold dust onto your sound. ...Okay, little cheezy. I'll just say that it sounds very nice.

Reliability : 7
It isn't the most solid pedal in the world. I have experienced a few temporary glitches. I think that the switch on mine might need to be replaced soon. But other than that it is fine.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Morley is a good company and although I have never dealt with them personaly, I am sure that they would back up any of their products. Except for maybe a pedal that they discontinued...like this one.

Very simple, yet very effective (pardon the pun). One input, two outputs: mono and stereo. Battery compartment, and 9v adapter input for the power supplies. Oh, and two knobs: rate and depth.

Sound Quality : 9
Great sounding chorus! Perfect for every guitar part that needs chorus. Sounds range from a mild flanging-style chorus to a vibrato chorus. Very nice.

Reliability : 9
It's very well built and looks good as well.

Never dealt with them.

Overall Rating : 10
This chorus is great for all styles of music and can be set just right for any situation that needs a chorus effect. Too bad they no longer make them. Buy one if you see it
