All low end goes bye-bye when you engage the wah.
Not particularly useful for a BASS wah.

Well... This pedal is very very easy to use, until you get used to the switchless design. I think that way of designing wahwah pedals is the best. The sound is good and you dont have many adjustment possibilities except the wah sound level, but after all it's a wah so adjustments are not to be made.
Well since i bought this second hand over eBay i didn't get a manual included, but i checked Morley's website.

I use this with a medium quality amp, and an ESP bass. There's no noise at all, the only noise comming from my pedal board is from the other pedals so this fortunately doesn't add to the noise.
There is a little problem with the wah if you put too much volume in to it, then the wah effect dim or disappears, but if you turn down the wah boost a bit, it's no problem.
I get a great sound for playing heavy metal bass solos together with my Big Muff USSR and my Rocktron delay pedal i get a great sound.

I can definitely depend on this pedal. I know a couple of other people who own different Morley wah pedals, and they all survived a lot of mistreating, also (though I am not excactly overweight :P) it can easily hold me standing on it with full weight, thoug it in some way may look a little stupid standing on it while playing, I think it could look fun playing live :P - Well Morley's slogan is "Buy a Morley, and step on it!"
I would definitely use it on gigs without backup, though I dont think it would ever break.

Haven't used it ever, and I don't think I will ever need it because the pedal is very good built.

Definitely a pedal you would want as a bassist. It has great sound and is built very solid, ready for use on the road for years.
I just want to say that this pedal is awesome.

Fairly straightforward as there are 2 wah sounds and the pedal. When I first got this unit I wasn't sure whether or not to keep it because as your foot comes back to the base of the sweep the sound is interrupted (even though it's switchless). This is annoying and happens every time so it's almost impossible to wah back and forth without the glitch. I read up about Morley pedals and and found out about a delayed shut-off modification which could be done to the Bad Horsie. I Emailed Morley to see if I could do the same to my Dual Bass Wah and they confirmed I could and sent me some details. It's not too difficult if you can use a soldering iron. The result is that I kept my pedal and use it a lot. I can be a right Funky B*st*rd and the effect stays on for about 1 and a half secs after my foot comes off (you can alter this parameter with the trim pot fitted as part of the modification-up to about 2 seconds I think). Also you can wah wah back and forth and and it sounds great because it's not interrupted any more.

This pedal is great for some slap & pop stuff, it's also quite good for stepping fully on to and playing harmonics-well I like it!? It's a pedal that's not always appropriate and should therefore be used judiciously.

not too complicated, but your foot sometimes hits the bottom and it makes a pop sound from going to true bypass..very annoying..

well, on the occasion that it works it sounds alright. traditional sounds flat out awfull, always, but the funk is..okay. not great.

yes, i delt with the company a lot. theyre as dependable as their equiptment. ("i think it worked once" summs up their pedal nicely..) they sent me a broken pedal, i sent it back for repair, when i got it it went back to the "broken speaker" sound within 5 minutes. then i arranged to send it back and get my money back. well, well after they had recieved the package, i started emailing them more and more often trying to ask where my money was..it took over two weeks of the pedal in their possesion untill i told them that i'd be letting people know how good they are at disgarding emails. 10 minutes later i had my money via paypal. sounds like a bunch of crooks to me..

considering the sound of the occasion when these pedals work, why not get a crybaby? or anything else, for that matter. if i still owned it and this pedal were stolen, i'd thank the theif.
to sum it up, the company is a bunch of theifs, the products are trash. no way around it. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEDALS!

as easy as any wah..kinda. one thing that isint so easy about this thing is actually using it, because of the switchless design, if you go crazy and the bottom of the pedal touches it goes to bypass and it sounds real strange and out of place..but, within three minutes of using it i was COMPLETELY comftorble with it and its fine. just saying, it took a second to get used to that.

im using a carvin XB76 into the morley and into my amp. no other effects. completely silent, no noises. the "funk" mode sounds great for any application where a wah can be handy, but the traditional you should only use at certain times. i use the traditional usually if im just playing chords as rhythm..the funk i use for youre normal wah applications, like i said..

A+! when it first arrived, the pedal was making a strange overdriven/blown speaker sound when i would use it...called them and we tried seeing if it was anything other than the pedal. tested everything and i sent it back, it came back few days later in perfect working order.

i play...well..music. being a six-string bassist, i can do all sorts of things from being the frontman to being a bill wyman. i use this pedal either way, if im in front of back, playing jazz, rock, latin, fusion, funk, R&B, and i'm sure theres others im leaving out. but, the key thing is here, i actually USE this pedal in all of these styles of music. often, too. A+ to morley, they made a winner.

wow does it really get easier to use? big pedal does wah, lil switch selects between 2 wah sounds. lil knob makes wah louder or quieter.

i use it with a rickenbacker 4003 and a mesa walkabout scout 115 and the sound is awesome, the sweep range is really good and when you flick up the valve distortion my amp you can make it sound like a bassballs (thts an EH pedal if you didn't know). I think its really good. It gets a tiny bit more noise than my previous setup, although i attribute this to the fact that i have to use a rubbish cable to connect the wah to my amp as my good cable is connected to my bass. Its hard to make this pedal sound bad, although if you want to try, play nimrod by elgar with the funk wah on and sweep quickly. works a treat.

back up? i have jumped up and down on this pedal with both feet and its fine, its heavy so it wont move around on a stage and it has very tough feet and even tougher casing.

They're probably not very good. Their company slogan is
"Buy a morley. And step on it" Starting a sentence with and isn't going to get them very far. But then again, you're never going to need them with a pedal this solid.

I play most styles of music but predominantly a sort of blend of aternative rock, prog rck and metal and it fits in really well to add a bit of life to the bass part. At the moment we're considering a song with guitar bass and drums all put through a wah pedal, inspired by this me getting this pedal. I've been playing for a fair few years and have a few other effects units, but this is by far and away the best bass wah i've ever used. I've used the wah from the boss me-50b and the Gt-6b and they pale in comparison, even the dunlop is rubbish next to this. Its obviously had loads of thought put into it with little touches like a cord to stop you losing the battery cover and the two very usable types of wah. Quite frankly, the best.

it sounds excellent when you use a distortion. if you don't, it still sounds good, but you can not hear the "wah"that clear . but it still is good for funky things and for slapping.
i only use the funk wah which doesn't always sound funky if you don't want to.
the traditional wah is just bad because it has only treble but no bass. even a guitar wah would be better! but the funk wah is enough, so i gave it a 10.

It's not noisy at all, I use it with a custom J-bass, a Boss ODB-3, and a full Mesa bass stack. The funk wah sounds pretty cool but I prefer the regular wah sound. It doesn't affect the signal until you step on the pedal and it doesn't use pots like the Dunlop ones so it will last longer and is more reliable. Rex Brown uses one, Bootsy Collins uses one, and a couple more than I can't think of off hand. The sweep could go a little bit further but it's fine if you get used to it.

I've played blues, rock, and metal for nearly a decade and this pedal fits nicely into a rock and metal setup. It adds some nice coloration to your sound and it definitely stands out when it's floored...it's like taking a mid-frequency knob on an old bass amp and just turning it up and down while you're playing. Other than the Dunlop version, I'm not aware of any other wah's made for bass; but this is definitely a lot better than the Dunlop.
