Ease of Use : 7
Very easy to use: constantly a volume pedal, then you can kick on distortion or wah if you want via stomp. Gave it a 7 because starting low on the wah requires you to to back off completely when its in Volume pedal mode.

Sound Quality : 7
One of the big things people are say is crap is the sound. WTF? These Morley pedals are COMPLETELY adjustable. I'd almost say a monkey can do it, but they'd need to know how to use a screwdriver. The Morley will never be scratchy because they use optics for their wah and not a pot. This is what you adjust to change the range on the wah. Want to learn how to do it? Call Morley... see customer support.

The distortion I can get some good sounds out of it too. The volume pedal is pretty straight forward.

Reliability : 4
It is built like a tank, that said - I've broken mine twice. Once was in a flood. My local guitar shop charged me upwards of $60 to fix it. Not good. And just recently a friend dropped it in a parking lot... so it broke. Other than that. No problems!

Customer Support : 10
I called Morley because I was ready to sell the pedal on ebay in non-working order. I really didn't want to blow another $60 to fix it. AND GUESS WHAT? They stand by their products. They said: "You should have called us the first time, we NEVER charge for repairs." GREAT! Called them over the phone and they totally stand by their products. They said they get so few repairs that it's not much to repair them. Plus, if there's any upgrades that have happened in the meantime, they add to it.

Overall Rating : 8
Back when I had no hope of fixing the pedal, I bought a VOX wah. And I really like the VOX wah. The Morley, was my first wah pedal - and since it has sentimental value, I'm going to keep it. Plus when I get it back, they're sending me how to adjust the wah to get it to sound how I want it to. So I guess anyone who complains the wah doesn't sound good it is because they cannot adjust it the way they want it to.

3 knobs, two switches and a pedal all in a steel chassis. Not a whole lot to mess up.

Sound Quality : 8
Using this pedal with an '86 Squier II HSS and a Mexican Strat with Texas Specials into an Epiphone Triggerman 60. The distortion is mis-named it's an overdrive and used as such does a great job tightening up the dirty channel of my amp. If used with a lot of gain at the amp it does hum (maybe the power supply instead of the battery would help). Don't buy this pedal expecting Dimebag-type distortion because it just ain't there. I've read other posts complaining about the sweep of the wah but it suits my playing fine, just took me a few hours to get used to the action. The volume function is a little abrupt (goes from zero to full pretty quickly) but again once you get the feel of the pedal you can make it do what you want. I play primarily blues, modern worship, classic rock and this pedal works well in all situations so far. I will post a follow up in a few weeks and let you know if the hum can go away.

Reliability : 10
It's a Morely, all steel. Unless you're pole vaulting on to it it should last as long as you do.

Been playing for 37 years, everything from top 40 to thrash funk. For where I am musically now, I really like this pedal. Again, I would not expect a death metal tone from the distortion, but for what I needed (a little extra overdrive to get solos up over the band)it's a great solution. I don't like the hum, and I will do something about that and re-post. For the money you can't go wrong.

EZ to use straight forward the only thing is the switches are located at the base and IF your not careful you can step on them when you DONT want to - and it's NOT true by-pass these two issue are the only ones i have with the pedal - having said that i really like this pedal anyway especially for the money

Sound Quality : 9
the distortion or overdrive sounds very good especially with my big muff at the same time w/my Fender 60 watt tube (2x6l6gc) amp nice smooth tube like overdrive (for me) the wah has a nice range. It's NOT a clyde or budda wah but it wont cost near as much to buy either - for the money i really like it! another thing it sounds better with a FRESH battery when the battery gets low the wah isn't as pronounced. if aint sounding good I know its time to pop in a new battery.

Reliability : 10
sometimes the bolts that connect the rocker need a little WD 40 or it gets sqeaky, no biggie

Customer Support : No Opinion
never had to call em - thats the best customer service of all

Overall Rating : 8
it's NOT true by-pass and the switches tend to get in the way UNLESS your careful but the other hand it's musical and alot less expensive than the fulltone clyde deluxe and the truth is some people on harmony central were even slammin that pedal - i guess as always it a matter of personal taste - this is a pedal i can live with and very good alternative for all types of ROCK in my humble opinion

I use a fender strat and an upgraded epiphone SG. my amp is a behringer GMX212. it is set to either fender clean, ampeg clean, roland jc clean, or marshall distorted.

This wah is good. If, like me, you play drums the pedal will feel ultraresponsive. To get good sweps and dramatic wah efects it takes more foot control than a crybaby but it sound more like the wah hendrix had later on in his career. gives a warm funky sound clean but is capable of VooDoo CHild (slight Retun). The distortion has a limited use. when used in tandem with the wah it gives a nice cutting quality to your playing used by itself it realy only works for getting Backward guitar sound or organ like chords using the volume pedal.

the volume pedal is almost a peice of junk but is useful for the above techniques. Pedal steel type licks are also possible. overall a good pedal with a great wah sound that is warm and full with as semi-decent distortion and a volume pedal to boot

Reliability : 10
built like a tank and will outlive you

a mix of Rock blues jazz ska regae rockabilly funk fusion etc...
If it were stolen i would buy another one no question as it is the best wah for my particular style.

compared with a Vox clyde wah and the crybaby as well as the Hendrix wah.
very musical.

I know that many people dont like this wah for many different reasons but it fits my sound and can fit yours if you just get it into your head that it's not trying to be a Crybaby. different but not worse or better.

I use this thing at every gig. My main complaint is the position of the switches. It's just about dummy-proof. It gives me total control over my hollow-body,high-output guitars. Whenever I kick on the wah, I seem to always turn the thing down because of how cramped it all is.

Sound Quality : 9
I am totally shocked by the other reviews of the distortion quality. I just love the dist tone. It is tube-like, but not a "fuzzy" type sound. It seems to let some of your original clean signal thru, giving an articulate, detailed crunch. Like a Rat pedal with more clarity. The tone control is minimally useful. Too far to the right and it sounds too thin and raspy. The "fake"-ness others have described must be the inherent EQ this pedal adds. Sorta tight and bassy. I have A/B'd this with almost every overdrive pedal I've owned and this comes out on top. I used it with TV Jones pickups in a rockabilly style jazz box. I play VERY loud, with authority and humor!

Reliability : 10
See other posts. It's really solid. The nuts on the inside of the hinges does occasionally need tightened with long pliers, or the Volume pedals falls a little forward as others have mentioned.

Customer Support : 10
I also have the Little Alligator volume. Morley seem like good folks. No frills.

Overall Rating : 8
For the Atomic Rockabilly style my band plays, the pedal is just great. The wah is useful, but I got for feedback control of the hollow guitars, and was pleasantly surprised by the dist tone. I would like to find the Morley distortion circuit in a separate pedal. The proximity of the switches is a real drag live. But, she gets me through gigs alot, so thumbs up.

WAH- different from Dunlop, but not worse or better- just different. I think that If everyone plays Dunlop I need something different and this thing is cool.
Ask Steve Vai :>:
Overdrive [not distortion!!!]- Very cool sound. It remaids some very old tube amps. Sounds very deep and wide... It isn`t thing for people who likes modern sound [EMG and ultra hyper distortion!!!!!!!] It is good thing to play chords, then it soundd sweet. It is also great to play solos, then sounds like something between Marshall and Fender... VERY WIDE!!
Volume pedal- just a volume pedal- it works what more can I say?

Reliability : 10
It is harder to destroy it than Dunlop becouse it uses optical sensor that is amost unbreakable :] Solid metal body, inputs and outputs work good. I JUST PLUG IT IN AND PLAY...

Customer Support : No Opinion

I`ve been playing for about 2 years. I play hard rock. It is a great thing and it gives to me lots of inspiration. If it were or lost I would buy another one. IF YOU WANT TO BE DIFFERENT FROM DUNLOPERS [DIFFERENT, NOT WORSE]JUST CHECK IT.

hot rod strat with one seth lover humbucker bridge position into the morley wah and then into a EQ with mids boosted and teaked and signal boosted and then either a ab165 bassman or even a sidekick reverb either way - sometimes i'll stick another
distortion pedal between and either way what the morely does is give me SUSTAIN for infinity if I want and a very cool boosted mid LEAD tone EXCELLENT for LEAD and power chords both - and I LIKE IT! these people complaining probably don't where to put in the chain or how to set their amp gain or EQ man cmon this pedal super and its a alternate type of distortion so you don't sound the same - still use your boss ds1/2 and big muff and xxl and sansamp and however much room you have on your pedal board

I have tried the modification suggested by Morley to get a better wah tone(it was missing the high freuencies)..but it only had a minor effect.
I have discovered that the brightness of the LED controlling the wah (L4)can be brightened up by palcing a 1k resistor across resistor 28.
This gives much more treble for those with dull wah problems..it also increases the gain of the wah section so I placed a 2.2k resistor across resistor 8.Now I have a good wah range and the volume in wah mode is the same as in volume mode with the pedal fully forward.
A cheap mod costing 10 cents and 5 minutes of your time.

pretty basic...volume, wah switch, and distortion switch and controls. i brought mine brand new and didn't have any instructionz in it so it was really easy 4 me 2 use it!

Sound Quality : 3
the wah is terrible!!! it sounds very weak and faint. when u switch it on, it sounds more like a volume pedal with a slight hint of a weak wah. the volume is great on it, and the distortion is ok(don't use it much). i just hope that i have a technical problem with the wah part of it, coz overall the wah suck!

Reliability : 5
this was my fist wah so i used it in gigs but i neva got a good wah sound out of it. i've had it 4 6 or 7 years and i'm pretty protective of my effects. one of tip of the knobs fell off and the pedal doesn't stay in its 0 volume position, when i depress the pedal into the 0 volume position, it moves back down, so if i'd have 2 say that i'd rely on a crybaby!!!

Customer Support : 3
tried getting it checked out 3 or 4 different times and nothing hasn't been done 2 it!!!

Overall Rating : 6
i play rock, blues, modern metal, gospel,....pretty much anything and 1 of my most important effect in my rig is a wah and i was disappointed with the wah, everything else on it was great. i've been playin 4 13 yrs and that was the worst wah effect i've eva heard!! so the moral of this story is 2: try b4 u buy!!! as of rite now, it a pretty exspensive volume pedal!

I use this thing as a volume pedal for a VOCE V5 'B3' module on its way to a Motion Sound mini-Leslie.

Once in a long while I'll use it as a wah. Mostly volume.

BIG NIT!! I still use the plastic case the pedal came in to store it in my gig bag. But when I take it OUT of the plastic case, the pedal itself stays horizontal - i.e. at about 3/4 volume - NOT backed off at zero volume.

If I press/rock the pedal back, i.e. back the volume off to zero, and take my foot OFF it, it springs BACK to level - 3/4 volume, in other words!

SO - while I'm gigging, I either have to keep my foot ON the damned thing ALL the time, or remember to turn the output pot down on the VOCE unit, which complicates my life in the 15 seconds between tunes.

So - while its electronics ARE clean and it's built like a tank, I'd like it a hell of a lot better if it would STAY at ZERO VOLUME without my foot on it!

Oh - and don't even think about buying it without the 9Volt battery eliminator wall wart.

FIRSTLY....the heading photo of this unit is INCORRECT.
now then.....this pedal has a "rocker" panel, two switches and three knobs. it is very easy to use.

Sound Quality : 8
this is the ONLY wah pedal i've ever owned.
WAH: sounds fine to me
VOLUME: works perfectly
DISTORTION: THIN, TREBLY and VERY NASTY. (is this bad???...if it is your ONLY source of overdrive or distortion,..this is VERY bad. if you have OTHER overdrive/distortion units, this can open up NEW options in "WAH SOUNDS".

Reliability : 10
i have kicked the living crap out of this thing. built like a pickup truck.

Overall Rating : 10
as a volume pedal it works perfectly.
as a wah pedal it works perfectly (i'm sure OTHER wah pedals produce different tones, some worse...some better). this has suited me well.
as a distortion pedal.....TWO FACTORS: as distortion ALONE---pretty crappy. as distortion COMBINED with wah---WELCOME TO NEW SONIC HORIZONS!
as a BONUS---run a signal from the pedal into ANOTHER overdrive/distortion unit...then kick in the Morley wah AND distortion...rock the pedal....sonic MAYHEM will ensue.
it is probably NOT the best SINGLE wah, volume OR distortion unit.
BUT,....by combining ALL THREE effects into ONE pedal,...you have options for altering your tone into the wild sonic blue.

fuckin' hell! this thing sounds C R A P!!! You want a funky wah sound? Don't even think about a morley wah, it's about as funky as your grandmothers underwear.
And don't even get me started on the explosion-like ''CLANK!!!' when you press one of the switches.
The distortion is also Com-Plete-ly useless(unless you want to go for sonic warfare), as ugly as it gets.
And then there is the wonderful volume pedal function. Not! Oh boy!, I'm just gonna leave it at this, I hope you get the message. THIS PEDAL SUCKS!!!!

Fender Deluxe Super Strat > Zoom 505 > Morley > Pignose Hog 30. The manual says that the throw of the pedal in volume mode is designed for a "dramatic swell" and is not spread evenly from off to full. That took some getting used to. I never use the wah or distortion because they are unusable for my tastes and music I play. I use the Morley as a volume pedal only. I keep my amp way up and my guitar volume around 9 at all times and use the pedal for all volume control and it works well for that. The Zoom is very noisy but the Morley has a some type of noise suppression circuitry which really shuts down the noise from the Zoom.

Reliability : 10
I have had no problems with this pedal in over a year and a half of ownership. It goes a long time on a 9-volt battery but when it runs out of juice it goes in about 2 minutes so I always carry spares just in case. There is no warning when the battery is running out: the unit loses volume and becomes distorted - suddenly.

Customer Support : No Opinion

I play country-rock, r/b and some pop. Also mass music at church. Used to play 20 years ago and just began playing again about a year and a half ago. Had a 69 LP goldtop, 80 Am. Std. Strat, fretless P-Bass, Acoustic 470 w/404 bottom, Hiwatt 212 combo, mellotron, Steiner-Parker synth. I owned a Morley power/wah/volume in 1977 - chrome AC-powered with the optical volume control. It was great. I thought that maybe this one was going to be o.k. As I said, for volume control it works well for me.

Fairly easy to use but impossible to get a good sound out of it.

Sound Quality : 4
I'm not impressed at all with this thing except the fact that it is a compact unit. Others have said that they don't like the switches because that they're too crammed in there. This is not my complaint, I had no problem at all with that. I really wanted to save some room on my pedalboard and I thought I'd try it since this was used and fairly cheap. I found no real loss since I can sell it to someone else for almost as much.
Anyway the wah has no charachter at all, its tredle range is too limited but serves it's purpose for those who want a subtle wah sound.
The volume is completely useless because of the range loss. The distortion is well, how can I say, very fake sounding. I wanted another distortion sound to complement the one I have, which didn't complement it but offended it. I have a Budda Phatman overdrive which is the best tube overdrive I have ever heard. The Morely dosn't even come close to a real tube sound. Sounds very solid state cheese with hardly no tonal control whatsoever. If you need a good wah sound get a Vox. I've tried alot of wah pedals and the Vox ranks among the best. If you decide to buy a new one, try to get a mod for they are not true bypass. Bypassing it as it stands sucks the life out of your overall tone. E-mail me for any questions on wah/ distortion sounds.
I have been playing for good many years now so I am pretty confident about my rating. I've learned alot about tone over the years and have become quite critical with what I hear. Please visit my websight at www.twofooter.com/msj

Really easy to use besides the fact that the switches are not so well placed it's an ok unit but you got to get use to it a bit.

Sound Quality : 6
The distortion is not the best in the world, but it serves the purpose of my need(wich was to boost in solo, and add a bluesy feel over my clean kinda dist sound I use for blues playing) The Wah is not the best in the world too(I got the Bad Horsie for that duty!), but then again I bought this to use as a tone shaper not as a main wah. The volume is ok not the best again but ok, I use it as an on off for tuning and as a leveling device for switching between guitars, so it work fine for my use plus it saves me space in the pedalboard by being all in the same unit!

Reliability : 9
Never had trouble with it.(except the switches, one was defect and I exchange the pedal right away at the store, wich can happen to any manufacturer. So I won't say it's not reliable.)

It's ok, I guess. If you have big feet, it might be hard to hit the switches on the sides of the pedal. Also, if you are using wah and you turn it off, make sure that the pedal is down so you dont lose volume. It's kinda a pain to have to mess with all of that at once.

Sound Quality : 1
This thing sounds like crap, period. I thought something was wrong with it b/c it sounded so bad. The distortion is very thin and tinny sounding, even through my fat guitar output. Hell, my guitar almost has more distortion on it's clean setting than this thing does maxed. The wah is shitty too. It was my first wah pedal, and I am looking for a different one now, but even with my "virgin" wah ears I could tell that it blew. For one, the pedal didnt seem to travel enough, it seemed like you only had about an inch to play with. And it was touchy too. Most wah's are supposed to sound like www-aaAAaa-hh, this sounded more like --wAAH-ak! It wasent smooth. There was a point about halfway in the middle that almost sounded like you dropped all of the sound off of a cliff, it was that sudden. If there are any pluses to this, the volume was a bit smoother, but still the travel of the pedal was too short and you couldnt make anything dramatic with it unless you had ungodly steady foot controll.

Reliability : 8
I guess you could rely on it, it is heavy and solid, and Morley rants and raves about how durable their foot mechanisms are. The only problem with being made of metal is that when you hit the switches, it made a very loud, hollow metallic "CLANK!" when you switched it on. I guess that makes it feel a little more sturdy though.

Customer Support : 9
Well, I do say that they were good to me. I bought it used off of a friend, and he did have the reciept with it. It didnt work when I got it home. I still could return it and I got a new unit for free. Dosent matter though, I sold it like a month later.

Overall Rating : 1
Garbage, garbage, garbage! This pedal sucks. Maybe Morley got a different wah pedal right, but I am not going to try. I was looking for that deep, rich Hendrix/Clapton sound and this wasent even close. I could have cared less about the distortion too, I have a great PW-2 that satisfys all of my distortion needs. I am currently looking for the old original VOX wah, I played a newer version of one in the store and it was pretty good. I would like to find an old vintage one in a pawn shop somewhere just beacause it would be cooler. But I am staying away from Morley from now on. Hell, even a good volume pedal can be a lot easier to find, try the Earnie Ball volume, usually used for steel guitar, it is super smooth and gives you godloads of travel. Sorry Morley, you sucked on this one.

Pretty easy to use. The fact that the switches were on the sides made it pretty difficult to turn it on in the middle of a song.

Sound Quality : 1
I use it through a Peavey 400 Series Scorpion Bass head and speaker cab. I play guitar through it. Mainly, this pedal sucks. The distortion is useles unless you like the sound of a diesel engine and the wah sounds like someone put a cat in a blender. The volume is either on or off.

Reliability : 5
Reliable. Built like a very small tank. Haven't had it but 6 months. I don't use it at gigs. i leave it at home.

Never dealt with them

I play blues metal and straight metal mainly, wityh some classical stuff in there. I have been playing for three years and I also own a Zoom 506 and a bass crybaby which I don't use either. i would definitely never buy this pedal again and wish I ahdn't in the first place. I just don't like the pedal itself. Bad sound and too steep a price. The only reason I bought it was because it had distortion and wah and people on this database said it was good. i'm trying to set the record straight. I wish it had better sound quality overall. It just sits there, not being used. This pedal will make people's ears bleed so they will not want to hear you play. Don't buy it, unless you like people screaming for you to stop.
The distortion just didn't really have any good distorted sound. No matter how I tweaked it, I couldn't get the sound of any artist i knew. When the distortion was cranked, it was too harsh and had really no sound quality at all. Nowhere close to a good tube distortion or any other for that matter. My suggestion, buy a Zoom 505 or 506 and then get a seperate wah. the combination is magnificent and the price is good too.

Very easy to use, i like the feel of a crybaby better tho. The only real problem with eas of use is, if you ever turn the wah off, you have to make sure the pedal is all the way down, or youll lose volume.

Sound Quality : 6
Im using an Epiphone G-310 and a 1966 Kalamazoo Reverb 12 (tube amp). I dunno, this pedal is alright, but the distortion isnt that great and the wah isnt effective enough, it needs more range or something. Its very noisy with distortion on.

Reliability : 9
Youll break before this will, its steel everywhere, and the knobs seem pretty secure. Id trust it on a gig without a backup definately.

Customer Support : No Opinion
no need to

Overall Rating : 9
I play anything from blues to metal, its good for blues but if yer in a metal band, use a crybaby and a Metal Zone or DS-1 (Boss). Overall im happy with it even tho ill trade it in for a crybaby pretty soon.

Very easy to use - only the pedal for wah/volume, three knobs (tone, distortion and level) for the distortion settings.

Sound Quality : 8
The wah is quite smooth but not very wide (which I like - crybaby's get too trebly up top for me), the volume works O.K. but is generally either off or on (not much actual vol. change as you push the pedal). The distortion is cool, I use a Metal Zone for heavy stuff, and this pedal on a tubey o/d sound for open chord type stuff which gives me the two types of ditorted sounds I want.

Reliability : 7
Seems solid enough to me, although the pedal squeaks a little (you wouldn't hear this if your amp is turned up however).

No need to deal with them yet.

I really like the sounds, and the fact that instead of buying a wah AND an Overdrive pedal, I got two in one. The main prob is that the vol is ALWAYS on except when using the wah so if you accidentally tap the pedal when trying to switch on the distortion you lose volume - basically the wah and distort switches are too small and too close to the foot pedal - the option to turn off the vol would be nice. Apart from that this is a great 2in1 pedal with good sounds.

If you can't use this thing you obvisouly stand too close to the microwave. The manual sucks the suggested distortions flat out suck. There is no difference when you twist the knobs

Sound Quality : 8
The distortions kind of sucks. The wah sounds good. If you put the distortion on while your distortion on your amp is on you get screaming feedback

Reliability : No Opinion
I've only had it for a month. Hasn't broken yet.

I hate the volume pedal it's a pain in the ass. Everything else is great. It's good for playing funk or chili pepper songs. I'd buy it again

very simple and obvious to use.

Sound Quality : 6
Not noisy, but it seems to me like there is a kind of 'bump' in it , when bended just a bit over half, it also doesn't sound warm, more flat

Reliability : No Opinion
Very stropng, and solid

Overall Rating : 6
It's really very stong, and makes no noise but the sound isn't really warm enough and the switches tend to make a whole lot of noise, especially when played with distortion

very easy to use with only three knobs to twist and turn. However, I find myself pushing the pedal up when pushing switches, causing a loss of signal when turning off effects.

Sound Quality : 5
The volume part sucks. It's either on or off, no matter how slow you rock it. The wah could be a litter wider, but does cut through the mix. The distortion has one sound - chunky, but it's definately useable, especially on classic rythm riffs. Just don't bother turning the knobs, it doesn't change anything.

I wish I'd played a few more before buying it.

Manual is "ok". The control are pretty basic

Sound Quality : 6
The wah is excellent. THe distortion is nearly the worst thing I have ever heard.

It is very dependible and is used for gigs all the time. Had it for a year and a half with no problems

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with the company.

Overall Rating : 6
I wouldn't buy it again because the distortion is bad, but it does work as a good volume pedal.

well...the volume isnt tha slick...after you reach a certain distance on the pedal (almost all the way down anyways) it just has the same volume...but the wah is pretty killer...it had tons of low-end and a screaming high... i had some problems with the distortion so i called up morely and they were more than happy to fix it... the distortion is more classic cruchy/chunky vintage distortion but ya can really get it to sound good... the one thing i liked and dis-liked was the fact that there was not a switch on the front like a crybaby so you can rock it as hard as you like without accedentaly shuting it off...but insted the moved them to the sides... which was real annoying hereing a huge click, but thats not really a prob. for me sence i leave my wah on for quick access...all in all its a good studio and road pedal...but to fess up...there are better sounding pedals out there... check em out...
