I Love This Thing. I was a little low on cash...so I traded in my DOD Death Metal pedal fo a wah....Got to my friend Dan's house, plugged it in...it was extremley easy to use. The switch on the right is very good due to some pedals turning on accidently. I Love This Thing!!! Up till 3:30am with it...parents weren't too happy, but oh well. I love it.

Sound Quality : 9
I use mine with a Crate GFX-212....it sounds good with Overdrive on, and it sounds terriffic in the Clean Mode. They sund great, no matter what the level is. I've been trying to get some Tom Morrello sounds...coming close. Heres a setup worth trying-
Morley Pro Wah == BOSS DS-1 Distortion = Boss Rverb/Delay === AMp

Reliability : 10
I haven't used it that long....but I've had experiece with pedals before...and I know I'll never need a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't dealt with it.

Overall Rating : 10
It is a very good match for my playing style - RATM, KOrn, Nirvana...
If it were lost...I'd definetly buy a new one.

This pedal is not quite as intuitive as a Crybaby because you need to set the "level" knob to the right wah level. Many would say that having the switch on the side is annoying, but that's why I bought this thing, because there's no way to accidentally turn it off or on, and the sweep just feels good; different from a Crybaby, but only like how a Mercedez and a Jaguar drive differently. The battery compartment is very easy to get at, no screwing involved. You don't need to move your foot as far to get nice sounds, which is a good thing for some and not for others. This pedal, just like a crybaby or a vox, needs getting used to. To me it feels just right and I love it, but that's just because I've been playing with it.

Sound Quality : 10
I use this with my Korean 3-single coil pickup strat copy into a 15-watt practice amp with reverb. The pedal's switching is kinda noisy when you switch it on with the toe down, makes a pop, big deal, don't do it with the pedal down. This is an optic wah, so it always sounds very clean and will NEVER get scratchy or need to have a pot replaced, so it sounds very precise; therefore not identical to the wahs that EC and Jimi used, but same effect anyways, just cleaner sounding. Sounds great playing their blues solos. Placed before an overdrive pedal or the amp's overdrive circuit it sounds nice and creamy, and after any crunch effect it's really strong and computery, Steve Vai kind of thing. Have used this with a keyboard before, sounds nice. The wah level control lets you make the "toe-down" treble sound louder without really affecting the sound of the "heel-down" sound so that opens up some options so it doesn't just sound like a crybaby. Sounds very funky and clean porno-style into the clean channel, SHAFT. Many will say that this pedal's wah is almost killed by a really harsh distortion placed afterwards, but that's how wah works, there's no getting around that. It's great for lead work, not only wah solos but carefully controlling the tone through a passage, also accentuates the right part of the tone and brings out feedback when you want it, so you can dial into the right tone. If you have an optic wah, open yours up and plug it in, look inside at how it works, it's interesting.

Reliability : 9
I have gigged with it without a backup and never had a problem, and I'd do it again. It's well built, though mine came without one of the little rubber circle pads that goes under the toe, but there's another one there, so big deal.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them, though it comes with a warranty, which is good

Overall Rating : 10
I play blues rock and the odd bit of harder stuff, and this pedal is great for all of that. Overall this is one of THE great wah pedals of all time, there's the Vox, the Crybaby, and the Morley. It's the original photosensor wah, you won't be disappointed unless you've been playing crybabies forever, which most people have. It's NOT the same as a Crybaby, it can sound more or less the same, but it doesn't, it sounds like a Morley. Any wah pedal can be inspiring when it comes to making cool music, and this one is really good-sounding. As for where it switches on and off, if you're used to a crybaby, this will feel WEIRD. But if you're not, like me, it's totally natural and doesn't get in the way. You really have to do an A/B test with a crybaby to make your own decision, but I can promise you after owning one for a few years that if you choose the Morley you won't be sorry. By the way for those who like the sound but are ticked off by where the switch is, there are people who can move the switch for you, and even better, Morley makes a version with the switch in the normal wah place.

The reason I bought this wah was because it is so smooth- with most of the crybabies and such, you could push the thing halfway through it's range of motion before the sound started to change, then it happened all at once and the rest of the range of motion was dead again. Not so here- my foot isn't so agile, and I needed one to be smooth. This is it. One point taken away for the funky way you have to engage it (button on the side). It eliminates the accidental turn-off if you really wank it, though.

Sound Quality : 8
Really good. I'm not into all that heavy wah stuff- I'm more about rounding some noted in my lead work. This pedal is great for that. Nice and subtle. If you're working clean, though, it'll sound just as wild as a crybaby.

Reliability : 9
I've seen pedals built to withstand bulldozer treads. This is not one of them, but it is really solid, all steel construction.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't dealt with them.

This is'nt your stereotypical Wah, but it was exactly what I was looking for.

a little different than i'm used to. the switch is on the right of the pedal. this means i can't just push down to turn on, i have to take my foot off, press, and then use the pedal.

Sound Quality : 5
This Wah is one of the better wah's i've used for the CLEAN CHANNEL ONLY. It has a nice phat tone, not like those tinny crybabies. On the other hand, no matter where i seem to place the wah, it gets drowned out by other effects when in distortion and for me, this really pissed me off.

Reliability : 10
built like a tank

i dunno

Overall Rating : 5
If u r into that clean channel stuuf for most of the time, it's a 8.5 out of 10. If u want rock, i give it a 3 out of ten. For Blues, it's quite nice sounding

Man, ok... it'S a wah. simple. but the freakin' on/off button isn't at the right place. it's like next to the pedal insteed of under it. at least, you're not gonna switch it off bu accident. and if you already have this pedal, plz e-mail me to tell me how tou turn it on (i.e. with the heal, toe, etc)

Sound Quality : 9
It's a a modern wah sound. you really can'T compare to the vintage ones. it's got it'S own style. i'm not shure if it's got a true bypass but it's pretty clean when it's off. i put my Boss Ds-2(distortion) before the wah. dunno why but when it put it after, i can't even sait that there's wah plugged in. the distotion just mutes the morley or something.

Reliability : 10
big fat metal case. dun't think it'll let me down. i use it without a backup, mostly cause i can,t afford one.

Customer Support : No Opinion
dunno, just got it a week ago

Overall Rating : 9
I'm not a big wah user, i play mostly punk 'n stuff. It's worth buying for 80can$. it xpands your style. if it were stolen, i'd probably look for something else like a octavia or harmoniser. nice $/Quality.

It's easy to use once you get your choreography down ( you can't just rock a wah or it'll sound like crap.) But it's as easy as any wah to use.

Sound Quality : 9
Alas, you don't get the right sound for "I Need You" by the Beatles. Good for any other wah sound unless you want a Vox sound...get a Vox. Use to have a crybaby...no good;you can't control volume with it and it automatically puts double the gain on the amp. Setup: Washburn Mercury II - Morley Wah - Danelectro Chorus - Crate Amp.

Reliability : 10
Built rock solid....no pot! Unless you shoot it with a missle it'll be ok. I use the ac adapter so no battery backup needed.

Overall Rating : 9
I play oldies and when ever it's needed it's good. Gives a new twist to solos like "Walk don't run" and "Green Onions"

I like this pedal, especially because it uses an optical sensor (LED/LDR) and it will never get a scratchy sound. The big drawback is having the on/bypass switch outside the pedal instead of under it. I removed the battery compartment, drilled a hole under the pedal, lengthened the hook up wires, and mounted the switch under the pedal. I run it on a plug-in 9 volt transformer. I like the "level" knob feature. As designed, I don't rate it highly in this catagory. Placing the on/bypass switch where they did is just bad design. But once you mount the switch under the pedal, I give it a 10.

Sound Quality : 10
Sound quality is very good. The sweep is different than a Crybaby, but you adapt to it. I use it with Strats and a Ric 330 through a Fender BFDR-RI and Ampegs (VT-40 & GU-12). With it I use a Tone Works REAL TUBE distortion pre-amp/pedal. And the great thing about the sound is that it will never get scratchy.

Reliability : 10
I can't really see much that could go wrong with it. There's nothing to wear out. (Except the foot switch)

Customer Support : No Opinion
Have never had any contact with them.

Overall Rating : 10
Once you change the foot switch, I say you'd be hard pressed to find a better wah pedal. Find one on sale and buy it. I'll buy more. Guitar Center sells them at $49 every so often.

It's really easy to use. One wah level knob and a wah/bypass switch. Any person may get good sounds out of it. The manual is simple but good (doesn't need to be more detailed).

Sound Quality : 9
I'm using a Kingsound strat copy and a 15w amp. Other effects include two Boss pedals (OD-2R and MT-2) and a Zoom 505. I always use the PWA as the first effect in the FX row. Sound is really good, and there is no noise etc. The level control has not got a big range (not very much difference between min and max). I usually keep it slightly above mid (one o'clock). Most sounds are OK, but the wah effect gets weaker when using really fat, heavy, grungy or noisy distortions on the MT-2 or the 505. Using it with the OD-2R is really cool.

Reliability : 8
The construction seems pretty solid. I haven't been gigging (I use it for hobby playing only, I don't play in any bands). The only remark is that it started to squeak. But I used a little oil on the joints, and the squeaking disappeared and pedal motion became easier.

It does the job and it's good value for money. I've been using it for a few months and I haven't got any problems (except the squeaking!)

Very easy to produce a good sound. On / Off switch is a little tricky to deal with, as it is on the side by the pedal. Easy after practice.

Sound Quality : 7
I am using a 'Trace Eliot' supertramp 100w and an 'Epiphone SG' Sounds dodgy when thru an effects loop, otherwise, the sound is fine. When the switch is on and the pedal is pointing up, some tone is lost and turns a little flat.

Reliability : 10
Very dependable. Not likely to fall apart on stage or something. Already been used for countless gigs. Batteries last a long time as well but I use a 9 volt power pack.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to trouble the people at Morley once. The wah-wah is too good to brake!

Overall Rating : 9
I use this wah-wah for metal and grunge based music and it gives great feedback when pushed all the way down! I've been playing for about 5 yrs and as well as the 'Trace and the'SG', i've got a Boss Flanger, phaser and Harmoniser. What I love about it is that it can give a range of sounds and I've found some 'Jimi' type settings on it. It totally changed my style of playing and I've progressed lead wise, ten-fold since mastering this essential piece of kit!!

Ease of Use : 2
I give the Morley PWA Pro series wah-wah a low rating for "Ease OF Use" because I've never experienced a wah pedal that had to be pushed PARALLEL to the floor to make it work! What is this? It make playing the wah TOTALLY UNCOMFORTABLE! It hurt my ankle just pushing the pedal down that far! An effect SHOULD NOT be uncomfortable to use!!! Ridiculous. (Sorry for being so harsh, but it's true)
It also has a "Volume" knob that controls the volume of the wah. That is a handy feature but other wahs that I've used have a set level still sound "right" to me.

Sound Quality : 5
The sound of the Morley was "HIFI" - it was very clear and pronounced, but also sterile-sounding to me. It reminded me a lot of Kirk Hammett's (Metallica)wah-wah sound which I can't stand!!! I MUCH prefer a Dunlop GCB-95 Crybaby or the Vox V-847 re-issue. (Which is my current wah pedal) The overall sound quality just isn't "my taste."

Reliability : 8
The "Reliability" section is probably where Morley does the best. ALL Morley wahs I know of use an optical sensor which allows the wah to be used without ever wearing out or making scratchy noises compared to standard pots. Definately a cool feature. I don't know how the pedal itself will hold up over time. I owned the Morley for about a week and then returned it because I thought I could replace my Dunlop Crybaby (GCB-95) and never have the pot wear out was a bonus. Big mistake.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've never dealt with Morley at all so I can't comment here.

Overall Rating : 6
Overall, I think Morley has a good product even though I don't find this wah appealing to ME. I think it's very versatile to have a wah that doesn't wear out & get scratchy and that you have control over the volume - very handy. This is obviously a "modern" sounding wah, but it just doesn't have "THE TONE." Also, other Morley wahs come with cool features like using the wah as a volume pedal or distortion pedal. I think that's pretty unique for a wah.
I was disappointed by the tone of the Morley and the fact that you have to push the pedal down parallel to the floor as I mentioned earlier - it's insane. A major "defect." I would NEVER buy another Morley wah. (Or even Dunlop for that matter.) I have owned the Morley, 2 Dunlop Crybabys (GCB-95), and the Vox V-847 re-issue. The Vox blows the others away. It has THE TONE, it has the feel, is comfortable to click on & off compared to the other wahs, and it even has the "classic look". (Although that doesn't matter to me at all if it didn't have THE TONE.) I will only continue to use a wah that sounds as good as the Vox or better. I hear the Fulltone "Clyde" wah pedal is great. I plan on placing a Fulltone "Clyde" pot into my Vox. It lasts longer than a standard pot. The "Clyde" is expensive though - here in Canada I'm sure it's around $400 - $500. I don't see myself paying that much for a wah unless I got it for cheaper or won the lottery. :)
