Ease of Use : 8
Easy to use - though the on/off switch being on the bottom right seemed less convenient to me than the Crybaby style switch located under the toe of the pedal.

Sound Quality : 4
Has a nice wide sweep and has a good sounding wah to it. Worked great with my clean sound - did not try it clean at higher volumes. This pedal did not agree with my Boss DS-1 distortion pedal at all. It seemed like there was something about the two together that seemed like the wah did not get its full effect. I bought this pedal to replace a 1990 Crybaby pedal that had a worn out potentiometer. The Crybaby was kind of noisy and cut some of my tone. I liked the idea of the optical circuitry in the Morley because it would not wear out like a pot and the "true bypass" should not affect my tone and it was fine when it was off. Since this pedal would not cooperate with my DS-1, I switched to my Marshall head and tried it with amp distortion and the wah sweep was much better but I still noticed some noise at low volume. I thought it was too noisy to use, but I took it to band practice anyhow and it was extremely noisy when turned on. We do play heavy rock so I am using full Marshall distortion - this pedal does not work well with distortion. I read other reviews that said it, but I had to find out for myself. It was unacceptably noisy, even with my guitar volume all the way down - pure static. I went ahead and played a few songs with wah solos and I could hear the static when I would stop playing - even over another guitar player, drummer, and a bass player.
For my application of loud hard rock, I would rate this pedal a thumbs down but if you play clean and at low volumes, it may work for you. I did like the wah of it but it was so noisy I could not recommend this pedal.
I took mine back and bought the Crybaby 535Q. I have only played with it for a few minutes but it seems to be very cool - it is twice the price of this pedal though. In this case, you get what you pay for.

Got rid of it after 3 days, so I can't say.

Did not use.

Thought I would save money by buying a cheaper wah but it didn't pay off. I have been playing for 27 years.

It's a wah, not the variety with tweak-able settings (i'm thinking crybaby 535Q etc) so it's not as hard as some other effects. It has a simple manual, that details the features and gives a few ideas, as well as the obvious technical and safety info. I understand that some people struggle with the switch positioning, but it doesn't bother me as much as it might bother some, as I intend to complement it with a switchless wah (most likely a Crybaby 95Q or Bad Horsie). My main intention for this wah was that i could leave the treadle in one position (which can't easily be done with a switchless), and turn on and off as and when i need to as with a stompbox. I realise that i could have bought a crybaby Q zone, but i often start and finish the lead/solo with the treadle stationary, and move it in the middle. For this, it is perfect. I will, however, give it an 8, because i understand the problems other people have. This is a 2001 model, and unfortunately it doesn't have an indicator led, but they corrected this issue with the later models, but i wish i had one. I may just have to get one installed.

Sound Quality : 8
This sounds great. It's a 2001/2 model (I don't know whether the more recent models sound different/better). It does, however have TRUE BYPASS (the only one i've come across for this price). A big plus. As for the sound, it sounds quite vintage to me - Reminds me of Jimi pretty distinctly. Please do bear in mind that this is my first wah, so i haven't anything to compare to. It wahs distinctly and pronouced-ly (is that a word?), even with heavy distortion. I do notice a bit of noise at high gain though, but i don't know how it compares to other wahs in this respect. Anyway, it isn't anything to fret about, to me anyway - i don't tend to use really high-gain distortion much as it is, and there's always a noise-gate to solve that problem.

Reliability : 10
I would not hesitate to depend on this - I would only take a spare (if i had one), for the simple reason that i don't have a power supply yet, and therefore have to contend with the possibility of battery failure.

I have never had to deal with the company, but i've heard great things, and i've noticed that Bill Wenzloff posts on here, and how many companies go that far out of their way for their customers? I'd love to put a 10 here, but since i've never dealt with them personally, i'm going to have to put a 'No opinion'.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I like all kinds of stuff - i love to shred, but i'm very bluesy. In terms of music that i play live, i play in my church worship band. I use this with my currrent main guitar, which is an Ibanez RG1570, and Marshall MG amps - i plan to upgrade to a DSL soon :) (i'd love a JCM800, but i'll have to wait for that :( ). I love the true bypass, and the design and construction - it is so well built, no weak spot, and no pot etc. I can't see what there is to go wrong. I'd love it to have an LED, that's the one thing that it's missing in my opinion. It's such an amazing expressive tool, as are wahs in general, it adds a new dimension to any style of music.

Easy to use, I guess as are most if not all wah's although the seperate switch to engage it takes a little getting used to at first, especially if you have had a wah that engages automatically when the pedal is used.

The counter argument though is that the pedal stays in place so that when you do engage it (via seperate switch) it comes in at the place you left it... which can be nice.

Would have scored higher than 6 but for seperate switch.

That said - I knew it had that when I bought it.... so perhaps 7.

Sound Quality : 5
Sounded ok, but this is the bit that is upsetting... I am sending it back. It is a very new purchase - 5 days old from the shop - and occasionally emits a high pitched whine when engaged. I have changed batteries and cables in it and other pedals in the chain but the fault stayed :-(

Guitar - Gibson Les Paul 57 Goldtop (Custom, Art & Historic)
Amp - Marshall AVT150
Other - Marshall Bluesbreaker II.

When it wasn't misbehaving it sounded ohhhh so sweet, especially though the overdrive channel on the amp.

5 though for this particular pedal.

Reliability : 3
In this instance no - but Morley wouldnt be where they are if this were typical. Philosophical about this, my bad luck, but back it goes.

I am not convinced I want another as the predecessor to this only lasted a few weeks before developing a noise when switching on and off - it wasn't a Morley by the way.

So two wahs, different manufacturers, in two months, put me off a bit.

I do not consider the common denominator here to be me - connecting and usng a Wah is childs play... no user error here :-)

Customer Support : No Opinion
Cant comment yet as I have not taken it back. That happens when I am next in town, next week.

Still want one, but now on back burner due to poor experiences... will probably return once I have licked my wounds.

It was albeit short lived a GREAT wah sound.

I bought the Morley when my Ibanez Blubber died once too often mid-gig. Morley's reputation for solidity, reliability and electro-optical operation put it well and truly in the frame as my replacement wah.

The side-mounted on-off switch took getting used to; too many years with a Crybaby clone. After about a year it's not much of problem. A shame there is no neon to indicate wah engagement.

Treadle movement felt odd compared to the Blubber. The angle of the fully depressed Morley treadle is considerably closer to ground parallel. Not only is the treadle movement greater but the sonic sweep is greater too.

It wasn't really a case of learning to use the Morley, more like un-learning what I already did!

Real bonus is the 9v extenal power socket. Wired into my pedalbaord with a stabilised 9 v 1,000 mA power supply. Doddle to use.

Occassionally I still forget to switch it off after a wah break or fill!

Sound Quality : 7
Noise levels can be a bit subjective. Depending whether the preceding compressor and/or the following distortion are engaged determines how much noise comes out of the Morley. A bit of forethought can prevent obtrusive noise levels. And at band volumes who actually notices anyway?

Guitars (2x Les Paul, 1x HSS Strat) >> Boss CS-3 >> Morley Power Wah >> Rat II >> Boss DD-3 >> Hiwatt DR103/Marshall 30 combo.

On the whole it is a satisfactory wah-wah and does what I would expect it to do sound-wise.

Reliability : 9
Built like the proverbial. One of the reasons I considered buying it. Mains powered so few fears of mid-gig failure. It survived some idiot dropping my pedalboard!

Overall Rating : 7
Used sparingly in the blues band. Adds colour where it's needed, provides a bit grunt to the odd solo. No problems - and yet there is still this little nagging at the back of my mind.

Lack of indicator? Certainly not lacking solidity of construction. I just wish it would feel "right". It is hard to articulate. It seems that one has to work the Morley harder, and in a more conscious fashion, than say a Crybaby. Its sounds are great, no complaints there, but it "feels" inert, abstract, detatched. Shame really, 'cos a more organic feel would have scored it a very high rating indeed. Sorry if this doesn't make much sense, but I am talking about a "feel" thing here.

The bits that are good are very good. Minor omissions like the lack of an indicator, ho-hum. It just doesn't seem to make you want to whack your boot into it and give it some heavy foot action. Anyone else empathise with this view?

Very Easy To Use

Sound Quality : 9
Has all the good qualitys of my dunlop cry baby but without the tone sucking, picking up radio stations, hiss, buzzing from neon lights etc.

Reliability : 9
I have gigged with it and did not use a backup. I have not had mine very long but I trust it.

Customer Support : 9
Have not had the plesure. I did notice that a Morley rep posts here. I have never seen a gear Mfg do that.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for 25 years. Have lots of stuff, bought lots of stuff, sold lots of stuff. blah blah blah.
I do use it in a cover band and it does very well.
I would replace it with the same model if lost or stolen. It was a very good change from my dunlop crybaby.
Only bad thing about it: It's Huge. Takes up a large space on the pedal board. Not a big thing but somthing to consider.

It' s wah, there is not much to learn...

Sound Quality : 4
On clean sound, acceptable, but the pedal' s stroke is setted quite strange. With distortion, it' a disaster: no wah effect over the 12th fret, and awful sound below. Incredible. Besides, quite strong noise especially with tone opened.

Reliability : No Opinion
I have it from two days, and I'm going to change it soon, so I won' t be able to evaluate reliability.

same as before

Good for the true bypass, but hell, if I buy a pedal I want to use it, not to keep it in bypass all time...

Well, this pedal is easy to use (it's a wah!), but there are some mistakes of design: 1 - You don't know if it's on because there isn't any leds. 2 - The ON/OFF switch is on the side of the pedal WILL make you lose your timing turning it ON/OFF in the middle of a music.

Now the good things: 1 - The guy who designed the battery compartment is somehow a GENIUS. It's very easy to open (a slider lock)and the little cord don't let you lose the cover. 2 - The ON/OFF switch on the side, make sure that you don't turn it off/on accidentaly.

Sound Quality : 10
My signal current goes like this: Epiphone Les paul Custom, Morley PWO, Marshall Jackhammer, Seiko Tuner, Marshall AVS 2000. Let me tell you: IT'S PERFECT. The sound is EXACTLY the same as the Bad Horsie (The only diferences between this two pedals is the on/off switch ,the Bad Horsie has a led, and the PWO is very much cheaper than the Bad Horsie). It's the clearest sound in a wah pedal you can find in any price range or brand (i've tried Vox, Dunlop and Fulltone). The sound is very smooth and controlable. It's not so screaming as the crybaby and not so rounded as the Vox, but that's the better sound on a wah ever invented. Noise? What's That? Have I said it has True Bypass? It's even quieter when turned on!! Your guitar original sound goes exactly the same. The pedal don't make's any coloration. You can manage to get the basic sounds (at least I can with my gorgeous Les Paul) of Steve Vai, Satriani (especialy Love Thing), Clapton, Slash and all the other Wah Masters. All my setup is VERY GOOD (I'VE ALREADY RECORDED AND GIGED WITH THIS), I don't think about changing any pedals in my signal current but this one, but iot isn't because the sound, it's because the ON/OFF Switch (I'm going to get a Bad Horsie).

Reliability : 10
It's a Tough pedal. Pretty heavy, It just get dirty real easy, but if you brush it when you don't intend to play it anymore, it will last to your grand grand grand grand sons. I depend on it, since i have some batterys on my bag, because it eats battery like Garfield eats Lazzanha. It came with a two year warranty (PRETTY MUCH FOR A PEDAL), but it's useless, unless you set it under you rear tire on your Pick-up and roll over it thousands of times.

Customer Support : 5
Nope, never will need it. But they get a 5 just beacuse we never will need to talk to then, wich every brand should do

Overall Rating : 7
I play classic rock (Aerosmith, Clapton on Cream, KLed Zeppellin), Pink Floyd (Yes with a Les Paul and you would be surprised how near my sound is to Davids Gilmour, especialy Confortably Numb), Virtuoses like Satriani, Vai, Gilbert (NO, MALMSTEEN ISN'T A MUSICIAN), resuming, blues/rock oriented guitar players.

I've been playing for over 8 years and I'm VERY, VERY PICKY with my guitar products (I inspect even the jack's and plugs soldering). I only found 2 problems with this pedal: the ON/OFF Switch and the lack of a led indicating functioning. And that's why I would by a Bad Horse (The same sound, but without that little problems). I am a completely lover of the sound of this pedal, the electro optical circuit is just the best invention ever made in pedals with weels (I hope someday they will make rotovibes or univibes with this device).I found it was a little strange that this pedal is a little old and there weren't any reviews about it, but it's never too late.

Hope it helped you guys out
