Well, ease of use it always a tricky thing. This was my first wah, so I got used to the whole separate switch deal pretty fast. That said, if you're used to Bad Horsies or even Crybabies the switch will take some getting used to. The actual wah...is easy if you're playing fast, hard if you're playing slow, because the effect sweep isn't smooth. It goes halfway down with almost no change before the wah suddenly kicks in. Volume mode is the same way...it's more of a mute than a volume adjustment. But for the basic wah effect, if you can't figure it out, that's really your problem.

Sound Quality : 4
I mostly use a Squier Stratocaster (with a two-point synchronized tremolo, hot rail pickups, a graphite nut, roller string trees, a strangle switch and a kill switch) into:
Morley wah > Behringer tuner > Behringer octave > Behringer Big Muff clone > Digitech Hot Head distortion > Digitech Grunge fuzz/distortion > whatever amp's on hand
Clean, there's no noise at all, even all the way down. With a couple distortions, it produces an interesting white noise as you press it down, but only if you mute the guitar. This will almost certainly never be an issue, because if you've got the wah down, you're probably actually playing, and if you're going to pause long enough for somebody to hear a hiss, you can just tilt it back. The only way it'll be important is if you play noise music and you think it makes a good tone.
But...here's the big problem. The reason I'm selling this thing and getting a Bad Horsie first chance I get. The actual wah effect is so weak it's almost useless. Most wah pedals sound more intense with a little distortion. This one gets drowned. It's only useable clean, and it's only useable if you kick it fast. The only way it's really helpful is if you want to push it down and leave it, use it for a mid boost. Add it to a hard, trebly distortion and some reverb and it makes for a great 80s shred tone. Which regrettably I don't like.

Reliability : 10
Well, it's pretty heavy duty. The box part at the bottom's steel, sturdy, and kind of unbreakable-looking. Built like a tank. The actual pedal, on the other hand, is plastic, but it's thick, tough plastic. The footswitch is heavy duty, and it uses LDRs and LEDs instead of a pot, so that won't wear out. Once I was playing "All Along the Watchtower" with my old band, needed to switch on my Grunge pedal, so I just stood on the Morley to get my foot up. I mean, it could have snapped and screeched like shattering glass and I wouldn't have heard, but it didn't break or anything. So as for reliability, oh yeah. I'd use this thing without a backup in a second, assuming I used it at all.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've never dealt with Morley.

Overall Rating : 5
I play a fusion of grunge, alt rock, thrash metal, shred...like Nirvana, Mudhoney, Dinosaur Jr., Metallica and Sonic Youth with Joe Satriani and Jimi Hendrix trading off bluesy leads. Now imagine that supergroup with head trauma and a hangover. And a couple broken fingers. This wah doesn't fit. It just doesn't work. Only way I can use it is as a noisemaker with a bunch of fuzz pedals, and it's really too quiet for that. I need something extreme, so my review is biased by the lack of extremitosity, but I feel safe in saying that a wah with a knob to weaken the effect should start off pretty intense. So, in conclusion: not too hard to use, built like a tank, and needs to be about four times as strong.

No difficulty using this pedal. I didn't need a manual.

Sound Quality : 4
Disappointing. It didn't give me enough high frequency boost to make distorted leads scream. The wah effect was pretty sutble as well - it doesn't really go "wah wah". If you really listen hard you can sort of notice it.

I expected the "level" control to work as a lead boost, but no such luck. Really it's more of a saturation control for the wah effect. It controls how dirty/saturated the effect is rather than how loud.

I A/Bed it with my Vox wah and the Vox blew it away in terms of giving a high boost that puts leads up front and in terms of a pronounced "wah" effect.

On the plus side, the Morley PWV wasn't noisy.

Reliability : No Opinion
Not sure. I bought this used and returned it the next day since it didn't give me the sounds I was looking for.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 4
I've played metal for 20 years and was looking for a good sound for leads to replace my Vox wah. This Morley didn't cut it. To be a good pedal for metal it would need more high boost, a more pronounced wah effect, and a level boost.

If you buy one of these, make sure to buy from somewhere with a good return policy!

This wah wah is pretty simple, a footswitch situated on the bottom right hand corner of the base turns it on and off, On = wah / Off = volume. In the opposite bottom left hand corner, is a Wah level dial, which simply adjusts the volume of the wah wah when the pedal is engaged. However, if you are used to using a Crybaby stlye wah, the Morley does take some getting used to because of the whole separate footswitch thing. But its easy when you know how, I'm an official Crybaby to Morley convert now!

Sound Quality : 7
Its very surprising to see so many bad reviews of this pedal, I personally love it, but others obviously hate the thing, it's clearly a matter of personal taste and what context you will use this pedal in, which defines wheather you either love or hate this wah.

I bought this pedal pureley because my Crybaby wasn't giving me the power or cut that I wanted. The Crybaby sounded great on the clean channel of my Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 100 especially when I ran it with my Fender Telecaster, it had a marvellous funk sound, but when I went over to the overdrive channel, it was weak and and too muddy sounding, even with my other guitars (Gibson Les Paul Standard and a PRS Custom 22) it just didnt deliver. Whereas, the Morley does. It has a really nice, smooth yet edgy cut on it and is about five million times more clean sounding. It truly thrives with the Les Paul and Marshall on the overdrive channel but it really is poor at playing with a clean sound, no funky "whacka-whacka" it just sounds weak. This wah wah is not for funkers but if you're a rocker, this is THE wah of your dreams...

Reliability : 10
Its built like a brick chicken house, and its probably tank proof. a very reliable pedal.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Have never had to deal with them.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
For players who generally dont use many clean wah sounds, this pedal is a very worth while buy, but if you're a fan of funky sounds give it a big miss. its not for you. I play in an Alternative/Indie Rock band, and find this pedal pretty essential to my sound, I dont use many clean wah sounds which is good cos this pedal just dont do em'! The band I play in uses quite a few effects between us, but mine go as follows (Not in order)
Morley PWV - wah/volume pedal
Electro Harmonix - Little Big Muff, fuzz
Carl Martin - Hydra Boost, booster pedal
Boss DD3 - Digital Delay pedal
Boss TU2 - Chromatic tuner
MXR Phase 90 - Phaser
Nady TR 20 - Tremolo
Marshall ED1 - Compressor

it works a treat for powerful distorted wah lines....perfect!

Out of the box, it's a easy equiptment to. One switch and one dial. Turn the nob to desired wah-setting and your quick to go. Soundwise it's different story. I miss the really vintage wah-sound you'll find in a cry-baby or vintage Vox, but sett to max effect on the effectdial and it gives a ok metalwah. For most parts I like to just use it to give me a Q-zone for the guitarsound. When it comes to the volumepart of the pedal it works as a volumepedal should. Nothing to mention there. I gave it a 7 because of the wah-setting.

Sound Quality : 5
I'm currently running it in front of my to distortionboxes and phaser through a Vox AD30VT amp along with my Cimar Les Paul "Black Beauty". Allthough the pickups on my axe ain't good, the wah-effect have never been as I would like. As a volumepedal it works like charm. Nothing to complain about there. If it were up to me, I would rather spend the money on a pure volumepedal-unit then the combined Volume/Wah. It also raises the gain when the wah-effect is in use.

Reliability : 9
It's built like a tanks and there's no pot that gets worn out. A great plus and as a volumepedal it has earned a place in my rig.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't dealt with them.

For my style of music I would mostly leave this pedal at home, but more resently I grown to like it. If it broke or got stolen I wouldn't buy a new one, but would rather go for a Ibanez or a Boss.

Wah/volume.Not complicated,,,LED on=wah...off=volume.User friendly device.Rock treadle.Switch a bit cumbersome,though not illogical.

Sound Quality : 5
Kinda weak on the wah.Hard to get a Clapton or Hendrix or anyone for that matter.Use a Frontman 25R with a Jay Turser P-90 jazzbox.Very finicky with distortion,,,requires a real feather touch on the pedal to maintain.Through a DOD G7 am able to better regulate on some settings.Volume mode is excellent.I like it's non-linear aspect.Works well for me.5 due to wah.

Reliability : 10
Dependable in the extreme!Built to withstand any onslaught.Have a DOD FX-17 just in case.Love metal casings.

Nothing but superlatives in this category. Most dedicated support I've ever encountered!(Perhaps it's necessary?Naw!)They are most friendly, helpful, courteous;and make a point of offering ANY extended help at any time, with no reservation.A stellar customer service team!Words are inadequate. They e-mailed me their set-up sheet,no questions asked.Bravo!!!!!I'd give them an 11!

I play all styles.Firstly,a thanks and a tip of the hat to Mr. Iain Louden of Australia for his tip of the 2 resistor change on his PDWV unit.Since I tried my utmost with Morley's suggestions,I tried his and,,,voila...more treble response in the wah mode!Makes for a more enjoyable unit!I've been playing for over 30,approaching 40 years, and I find it to be a kinder, more gentle wah/vol, effect.(kinda goes with the territory?)I like it for its smoothness...it's a bit of a hassle with the switch placement, but it can be overcome...especially when I mostly record and play for myself. After the above-mentioned mod,it definitely helps...a more expressive pedal...but takes awhile to get "the feel".But worth the effort.Never a scratchy pot like the Crybaby. If stolen or lost,I'd find another(maybe an upgrade to the II series)but I'd like one in my kit regardless. With the mod!I play all styles, acoustic and electric guitar,bass.mandolin,harmonica...just for fun!

Very easy to use. Turn the Wah off when you want a volume effect, turn the wah on when you want to wah your head off. the level knob is your overall effect volume. Rock the pedal back and forth for a funky sound and sweep your foot over the pedal for a smooth wah sound.

Sound Quality : 8
I'm currently using a 1993 Fender Strat with a Behringer GM110 Analog Modeling Amp. My current setup goes as follows :

1993 MIM Fender Strat > Morley PWV Wah/Volume > Danelectro Corned Beef Reverb > Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive > Boss CE-5 Chorus Ensemble > EH Small Stone > Zoom 505II MultiFX > Behringer GM-110 Analog Modeling Amp.

I don't get why people say this wah is so bad. Check your batteries and your connections folks, or perhaps you just don't know how to use a wah.

This wah mainly does a smooth sweeping wah, wah that you can use on clean leads and some funky chords. This wah won't scream; if you want a screaming wah look elsewhere (perhaps that's what these people with bad reviews were expecting?). When I looked at the reviews for this I was quite shocked...it's not THAT bad of a wah. I've owned mine for about 2 months now, and I haven't had a problem with it. It does what it's supposed to, nothing more, nothing less.

Reliability : 10
This pedal is VERY sturdy. This thing weighs about 7 pounds, and it costs like $10 US mail to ship. I'd say this is pretty dependable, since it's made out of metal. The only part on the pedal that isn't made out of metal is the Level knob. That, of course, is plastic. Very reliable.

bought this on eBay used for $30. This thing has taken a beating or two, but it's survived everything so far. I mainly play alternative/hard rock music. The Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Tom Petty are my main influences. This wah does exactly what it's supposed to = wah. It doesn't scream, it doesn't bite your head off, but you can get a nice smooth swoop from it. It's not the best wah in the world, and I'm sure there's worse, so for $30 I can't complain. However, I AM thinking about getting a Dunlop Crybaby, because I'd like more of that Swirly Swooshy 60's vibe.

The bad reviews here are just people who hate on this pedal because it doesn't live up to the legendary Bad Horsie. It doesn't scream, wail, or cry, but it DOES WAH. If you're looking for a simple solution to your wah-ing needs, this pedal might be worth looking at.

It's very sturdy with a nice wide pedal area but mine had an annoying squeak that no amount of WD40 would cure.
The on off switch for the wah is by your heel and seperate from the treadle so it's not as easy to switch on and off as my Cry Baby. There's also a level control for the wah which I really don't see the point of, you'll just set it flat out on a gig anyway. The jack sockets are a very tight fit but Morley reckon that's deliberate.

Sound Quality : 1
I really wanted to like this pedal, I'd been thinking of getting one of these ever since hearing a guy use a big old chrome Morley 20some years ago.I also naievely thought this would sound better and be more compact and convenient than my old Cry Baby/Boss volume pedal combination..........Was I ever wrong.I play various Strats, Teles and a 335, through a Fender Hotrod Deville 2x12 and a Hiwatt 100 stack.
Admittedly, the sweep of the wah is smooth and even, but it just sounds pathetic. When I first tried it out at home I was SO disappointed, I hoped the battery was dead but it wasn't. It's such a feeble effect, there's no real treble boost, just a nasty mid range honk when it fully down and loads of indistinct wooly bass when it's back.I've tried it on 2 different gigs with 2 totally different bands and 3 different amps and on both occasions I've just bend down and unplugged the bloody thing after the first song.In volume pedal mode, forget it, there's no gradual and even increase in volume, it just gets loud just before you floor it, totally useless.I've got some great guitars and amps and this piece of shit just makes everything sound like a joke.

Reliability : 9
Well built, it would probably survive being thrown against a wall (unfortunately)

Even if the pedal is well built the plan to move is too big in my opinion and sometimes it's hard do control it properly, above all when used as volume pedal. The Wah on-off switch shouldn't have been placed so close to the pedal, it's uncomfortable at all. Besides all this even my dog could use a generic wah wah pedal...

Sound Quality : 3
Shouldn't a wah wah pedal wah the sound of your guitar? Yes ? Well, this thing doesn't do it ! It effects your tone so little you wouldn't thing you bought it. IT SIMPLY DOESN't WAH ! After trying a classic GCB95 Cry Baby I've never been so brave to use the morley anymore as a wah. However you could use it as a volume pedal even if you can't set a minimum level. The level knob is, or better, would be, for setting wah level but simply it doesn't work...

Well built, you can jump on it (but you'll probably jump for frustration)

Plug it inbetween your guitar and amp and go! It's a simple wah wah pedal!

Sound Quality : 10
After reading some of the previous reviews I ask myself, "What were these kids on when they wrote!" First of all this wah is high quality and will hiss when you put crappy little fuzz junk in front of it! I feed either a '61 Strat or any number of Gibson V's or Kramer Metal neck DMZ's into a Boss DS-1 or Tube Screamer then into a Morley Wah into a Multivox MX-312 Tape Delay and then into either Marshall JMP's (Take your pick!) or Magnatone 460's.(Or Valco's or Vox's or take your pick on a quality vintage amp)I even use an old Boss Comp up in front sometimes and this set up is not noisy and even at full volume I can control the noise easily. And I don't even use an effect loop! I mean if you want absolutely zero noise then STAY AWAY FROM ROCK.....kids!!! Or at least try a noise gate...Geeez! I have used my first Morley for close to 26 years and tried just about every other type of wah I could get my hands on. I've kept a few Thomas Crybabys, and they do get a nice meaty tone (but keep those pots clean!!!), but if some kid thinks that a wah wah pedal is going to make his junk sound good then he should be investing his money into REAL equipment instead of his junker amps, toys and guitars.(All over priced no doubt!) The previous reviews must be on the battery operated black boxes 'cause these chrome 120 VAC wahs provide an intense hollow tone. I must admit I've never tried one of those! I mean, Did Aerosmith and Thin Lizzy sound like junk? Does Metallica sound like junk? Did Steve Vai win a bunch of guitar awards from sounding like junk? Did he not "wah wah" while with Frank Zappa or David Lee Roth? Did Robin Trower sound like junk on "Bridge of Sighs"? I guess that wasn't a wah wah Eric Clapton used on his solo material!(Junk?) Why were all these guys able to use Morleys without all the whiner problems the previous complainers wrote down?....AGAIN.....Brains!!!!!

Not Rocket Science, push the button rock it around a bit push it again and you have a volume pedal. Any one with a calf muscle would not have a problem getting this thin to do something. the button takes a bit of practice to be efficient. otherwise you are stumbling around to activate the wah. All it takes is a bit of garage time practicing.

I play a fat strat through a fender amp and DOD effects. It is awsome on the clean chorusy effects. It has a subtle presence with heavy distortion, but i kinda like that. The nob is useless, and the volume sweep is not too broad.

Seems fairly simple; with the switch outside the pedal, it's far more difficult to accidently switch the wah effect off. The expression pedal moves relatively smoothly and doesn't slip or grate.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
I have only purchased this unit today, though I have been playing it often in the store all this week. With a Fernandes Strat similar to my Squier, I got good sound out of it running to a Randall Bluesman. It seems a good idea to put any effects BEFORE the wah in the chain, because the Bluesman's internal OD wasn't affected much by it. It sounded good clean, as I expect it will on my Fender Champ (w/ a Boss OD-2R).

Reliability : No Opinion
It seems very reliable; it has some case wear & tear, but it still functions perfectly. It appears to be an older unit (the CE marking on the bottom says 199-, looks like a 0 or a 4 but scratched out), but it sounds better tban a newer one of the same model I played.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have had no opportunity to check this, but as an address is printed on the bottom of the unit, it seems as though they expected it to go through several hands without damage.

Overall Rating : 10
I think I got a deal. The used shop where I bought this unit had 2 Morley PWVs, this one and a newer one. This one is easily identified as the older of the two first by the scratches in the paint, second by the logo font ('70s-butterfly-ish, as opposed to the late model's standard font), and third by the unpainted metal underside. Clearly, the Morley Sound Enhancements company has gone downhill, because the old box is structurally and sonically superior (and consigned at the same price as the newer one). The newer box, while structurally similar, does not have as good a mechanism for the pedal-to-resistor interface, and so I had trouble getting the pedal to stay put. Also, the sound from the newer one was weaker. Don't forget to put it later in the effects chain, because you'll be fluxing volume on your already-generated signal instead of fluxing volume into the signal-generation process. This was far better for me than the $49 used Crybaby I tried; why would anyone put an effects switch inside the rocker pedal? You'll turn it off half the time! The only minor complaint I have is that the pedal squeaks a little bit when you rodk it, but that can be corrected. Thus, bottom line: IF YOU BUY A MORLEY PWV, BUY THE OLD ONE! It's got a surprisingly beefy wah-tone, and it holds up rather well. The new model deserves poor reviews; I think that may be what happened to the people who have been disappointed.

Not very user friendly,
For the volume pedal you can't really use it to change between rhythm / lead volume because theres no minimum volume, at toe up its got no volume and at toe down its full volume, so if you want a constant rhythm volume you have to put it somewhere in the middle and hope to find it again after a solo, also if you use a wah in the same song it will be on full volume no matter what.
The wah switch is located on the side of the expression pedal so its not very easy to suddenly change between a wah bit and a non wah bit.

Actually using the expression pedal is easy.

Sound Quality : 8
I play it after (yes, after) an ibanez smash box distortion pedal, for some reason, its hardly noticable before distortion, hence all the crap reviews for this product. The level knob supposedly changes the wahs output volume but it has little or no effect on anything. Its pretty much just got a high output. As far as sounds go, on clean it sounds really nice. On distortion the bass isn't really as as loud as the treble and it sort of fades in the notes but overall it sounds pretty nice. Works average for Hammett sounds, sounds a lot like 'bulls on parade' (RATM).

Reliability : 9
Looks and feels rugged enough, electro-optical circuitry so no friggin pots to wear out.

I play alternative, metal, rock, and it works fine for what I play. I compared it to an original crybaby and this one sounded a bit more modern. If it were stolen I'd probably buy a Bad Horsie because I don't really use the volume and I am a lazy bastard. I don't like the fact the switch for wah is on the side.

I love it. With the right adapter I have no problems. I don't know if they made a good batch fo these things or what..this thing beats the **** out of my frind Eric's VOX, and definatley better than my old Crybaby. With my lame little Park amp and a good arsenal of guitars this thing does wonders for me. I've had no problems at all with the Volume function, could be a little more linear i guess.

Reliability : 10
You would fun trying to break this thing...nice rugged steel shell and rocker. It gigs with me without a backup. Has survived my most violent stomps, can't say the same for my Zoom pedal.

I got a full two year warranty when I bought it used(thanks for leaving the empty warranty card whoever you are). But I really doubt I'll have to use it, haven't yet.

Great pedal. I use it for my Kirk Hammet impressions with my Jackson USA, for Blues with my Amer. Std.Strat and for goofin around with my Samick SG. It serves all of my guitars well. If it were stolen(it won't be lost!) I will track the scumbag down and beat him senseless(with the pedal). If can't figure out who it was, I'd stick with MORLEY but buy a Bad Horsie so I can just step on it and go nuts.

After paying $80 for this pedal and being very dissapointed in it, I felt it was my duty to inform everyone that this pedal is a total piece of crap! The wah switches on and off by a seperate switch next to the foot pedal. Acts as a volume pedal when the wah is off.

Sound Quality : 3
This pedal hisses loudly when the wah is engaged. It is severely lacking in the mid range- it quickly sweeps from muddy lows to shrieky highs.

Reliability : 7
It is pretty rugged.

Here's the problem: you'd expect a volume pedal/wah pedal to be pretty simple to use, but it just isn't because of the idiotic engineering that went into this pedal's pathetic design. First of all, you need to push a button to turn the wah on, otherwise the pedal acts in its volume function. The stupid part lies in the necessary positioning of the pedal. Usually, I'd leave the pedal in its fully-pressed state, with the volume at its max, and only use the volume pedal funciton for fade outs and the like. So at its normal state, the pedal is pressed all the way forward. The problem is that the pedal is obviously still pressed all the way forward when you use your right foot to switch to wah mode, and if you're using distortion, it produces the horrendous squealing feedback that you'd normally avoid by not rocking the pedal all the way forward. Basically, the way the volume and wah coexist, one is compromised by the other; if you compromise the volume mode you lose massive tone by leaving the rocker halfway up and then blow your ears off when it's on full volume in wah mode, and if you compromise the wah mode you get hideous feedback whenever you activate the wah. Blaghhhhhh. I can't even give this category a rating because it's not a question of being difficult/easy to use, it's more a question of being humanly possible to use..."Can this pedal ever be used successfully?" is more like it. My experience says no.

Sound Quality : 1
The volume is basically volume, so whatever. My sound gets louder and quieter, fantastic... too bad it sucks tone like hell. As for the wah, it has to be the weakest piece of equipment I've ever heard. At least most bad effect announce their presence with a hideously obvious "I AM A BAD EFFECT" sound; the Morley's wah is so subtle that it's almost aurally invisible. I bought this because in the music store it sounded smoother and less harsh than a Crybaby and was more affordable with a Vox, and I've regretted the purchase ever since. I traded it in shortly after purchasing it, bought a Crybaby instead, and placed a distortion pedal before the wah, and that made all the difference in the world... the sound became smoother than ever and the wah was actually noticeable in my sound. This category gets a 1 because I bought it primarily as a wah pedal and the wah effect sucks, big time.

Reliability : 10
Doesn't look like it would break. Then again, a solid chunk of granite wouldn't break either... but it also wouldn't help my sound in any way. I might even buy a solid chunk of granite before I paid for another Morely wah pedal. At least the granite might have aesthetic purposes.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never talked to them. I was in too much of a hurry to get rid of this pedal.

Overall Rating : 1
I play mostly rock and funk, with some hardcore and metal in there too... I don't think that matters too much, though, because I can't see this pedal being useful to any musician. The switching mechanism is absolutely ludicrous, and as for the pedal's sound, it functions fine on volume but terribly on wah. If you want a wah, like I did, go get a Crybaby (or a Vox if you have the extra cash), and don't make the mistake of thinking "Hey, an affordable wah with a volume effect thrown in too, cool!" I did it, and, like me, you'll end up paying for an affordably useless example of engineering ineptitude. Ick.

Basically idiot-proof. A swith to switch between wah and volume, a knob, which seems to me to be the level of "saturation" for the wah, and of course, the pedal.

Sound Quality : 4
I play a Fender Strat and a marshall VS100. This pedal seems a little weak, in that I wish it had a wider "sweep". As for volume, it's perfect. When you stomp the switch to go between wah and volume, you gat a horrible, earth-shattering click.

I COMPLETELY HATED THIS THING! There is a seperate button you have to push to get the wah on. That is the first thing about it that really sucks. It's impossible to go from rythym to lead with wah on when you have to pause just to turn the damn thing on. Try playin one of Kirk Hammett's solos with this piece of crap.

Sound Quality : 1
It's honestly the worst wah I have ever heard. So weak-it's like it's not even on. Pathetic.

There is no way I would have ever used it on a gig-especially cause of the button. The only reason it's gettin a 2 is cause it had some metal parts.

The quality of the sound is clean. not so much hiss like with other pedals I have tried. The set back however is that the pedal does not have as much articulation and distinction of wah as would a vox or a crybaby

Reliability : 10
The pedal is dependable if you are comfortable with the sound it produces, you can bet it will always sound like that. The batery is easy to get to if you have one die on you, so no back up would be nessasary. No Pots to clean. Mine has sounded the same since 1992

My first instrument is actually trumpet. Did you know it was a trumpet player "Clyde Mccoy" who first requested a wah wah pedal. My stringed instrument is a 1968 telecaster bass guitar. The pedal works fine with the bass, not the trumpet. I would choose a more articulate pedal for the trumpet.

It's just a wah pedal, but when you turn the wah off it becomes a volume pedal. It has a level which adjusts the level of wah. Very easy to use.

Sound Quality : 9
I use mine with a '93 Fender Am. Std. Strat, a Gibson SG Deluxe, and a Fender '72 Telecaster Thinline Re-Issue through a Peavey Heritage VTX amp. It sounds good, and the people complaining that it doesn't sound like a Vox should know it shouldn't sound like a Vox unless it says Vox. I haven't been able to get a bad sound from it and I don't think I will in the future.

I'd buy another one, if i needed it. It works great for blues and rock and roll. It has no stupid pots to clean, so it beats the Dunlop Jimi Hendrix wah I was using before I got this one. You don't have to take off the whole bottom to change a battery, you just slide this button and out it comes. The only problem I have found with it is that the pedal sqeeks when you move it real fast, but that will go away eventually. Overall, a great value.

There is a wooshing sound that changes pitch as you use the wah, but this may be because I use mine for bass. The actuall wah tone seems quite weak, again this is probably because I am using it on bass.

Since it's a wah, it's not that tough to use. My only complaint is that the switch to activate the wah is kind of close to the pedal. I have to angle my foot a little bit to press it, which isn't what you want to think about before diving into a solo.

Sound Quality : 6
As with other reviews, this is a pretty noisy unit when you're in wah mode. The wah, contrary to what Morley says, sounds pretty much the same no matter what level you put the knob on. Unfortunately, the wah sound is mediocre. It's my first wah pedal, and it's not quite what I expected.

Reliability : 9
Uses electro-optical circuitry, so you don't have to worry about pots breaking. Pretty well built. Actually, I had to return my first one the day after I bought it because in full volume mode (pedal all the way up), the pedal would drop slightly and not give you full volume. This was annoying.

Customer Support : 10
Guitar Center was cool about exchanging my first one. Don't know about Morley, though.

Overall Rating : 6
The wah is O.K., but it doesn't have the balls of some other units. Excellent volume pedal, though. For the price, it's not that bad, but then again, it doesn't scream. Also, the hinge on my unit is LOUD. When I play in my bedroom at low to moderately loud levels, I can hear the squeaking and it's pretty distracting, and not at all musical. If you're a concert/club musician or if you play through a monster stack, this isn't a problem. But for practicing with a cheap Matrix amp, it sucks.

Volume is the only adjustment. Basically it only makes one sound. The pedal takes quite a bit of effort to move; I suspect I'd get a sore ankle if I used one regularly.

Sound Quality : 3
There's a weird industrial-sounding swish in the background when the wah is activated (as compared to the Vox's "vintage" crackle and hum in the background). The wah sound is rather subtle and unimpressive. The total range is much less than the Vox's and I often moved the pedal quite a bit with no audible difference, especially when using distortion. This pedal isn't versatile.

To get a good sound? Impossible. No patches. Nice manual but considering ng its a wah, what do you need to know?

Sound Quality : 3
The wah is terrible. A Crybaby has way more squawk, as does a VOX. There is a big difference between a battery and an AC adapter too, but they both suck. The volume swells nicely though. Makes a good volume pedal, but a crappy wah. Even a BOSS Foot Wah sounds better.

Reliability : 10
As a volume pedal, yes, but it still needs a power source. As a wah, if I had no other choice. I prefer my Crybaby with a custom installed 10-K pot. NOTE: This pedal uses electrooptical circuitry and is very reliable.

They sent me some stuff....they seem convinced they make great stuff, but it isn't my cup of tea.
