I just picked an older black and chrome one up from a guitar player friend and have installed it into my pedal board (I'm a bass guitarist, BTW) after a Boss OC-2 and before a Boss SYB-3 and BF-2 pedals. This pedal replaced a 15+ year old Roland FV-50H that finally died in the middle of a rehearsal.
Simply plug in a 9 volt battery (or AC adapter), your I/O cords, turn it on and away you go. There isn't much more to it then that...

This is certainly better sounding than the mechanical contacts of a volume pot in the circuit! With only a photo-resistor in the signal path (okay, there is ONE output loading resistor as well), the tone is incredibly clean. This made me realize just how much "tone-sucking" the old FV-50 was doing to my sound! While I know its not a true bypass (not yet- mods will fix this I'm sure!), its the next best thing (besides, none of those Boss pedals are really a TRUE bypass- the FET does, however minor, contribute a "tone" to things).
There is NO NOISE whatsover from this pedal!!!

Well, my guitarist/buddy has had the thing forever without a single problem with it, so I hope I can be as lucky...
The only thing (as mentioned previously) is the lack of a true bypass if it DID die on stage, but that will be remedied soon enough...

Well, its a helluva lot bigger than the old Roland, and thus I had to change up some of my pedal board.
My rig is a monster (at least for bass guitar)- the sound is divided into a top and bottom channel, each with thier own amplifiers and sounds (if you are interested, check it out at http://www.silmica.com/daves_gear.htm). The Morley gets used in the bottom channel. the top channel currently uses a DOD VCC-1 volume pedal, which I may have to swap out into another one of these!!!
We'll see...
I suppose I should have paid a little less for it, but at the same time, I didn't have to worry about the uncertainty of an Ebay auction...

Very easy to use. Toggle switch "on - off". Knob for adjusting long or short travel. No need for manual.

Absolutely no noise. I use it with all kinds of guitars and amps. Many say these pedals affect the tone but isn't that what they are made for? Can be bypassed if you want.

It's at least 40 years old and works as good as the day it was built.

This is a beautiful vintage all chrome volume pedal built by Tel-Ray Electronics, Hollywood, California. I play all kinds of music. That means no death metal, grunge or other junk that is just noise at maximum volume. This pedal is smooth and noise free. All the connections are on the right side. Since it does not have true bypass which would be a cinch to install by changing the toggle switch, I give this pedal a 9.
