Pretty simple if you've played with enough effects....in fact as with all effects, you just keep messing around with them until you get it. 4 knobs- feedback/volume of the effect; rate/speed of the flange; start and stop/dialing in the specific range you want your flange. Very easy to get a great sound out of all the time! I only give this a 9 instead of a 10 because for those less inclined with effects it might be a little confusing at first without a manual.

This is the most beautifully organic swirl of a flange I have ever heard. I used to have an EHX electric mistress which sounded ok but this unit makes anything else I have ever heard sound like crap. Leaps and bounds better in tone (as it is with most mu-tron effects). I don't think the unit is noisy at all so if yours is, it's probably one of your amps/guitars etc or it needs to be calibrated. Anytime I buy a new mu-tron effect I send strait to Richard Lingenberg who has worked with Mike Beigel, the mu-tron designer. After getting them back from him they sound phenomenol!!!
Running this with my echoplex, EHX hot tubes, clean, reverberated, and even with my mu-tron phasor at the same time....always sounds fantastic!! The ability to sweep the flange manually is also what makes this baby really stand out!!

the company is out of business but a call to mike beigel and he refrred me to Richard Lingenberg (Lsound.com) who has since become my exclusive mu-tron man and he makes everything I have sent to him sound great. He's even done some really spectacular jobs with mods I've done with my mu-tron phasors. I send every mu-tron pedal to him as soon as I get them.

I play pretty psychedelic music and use many different depths of field for my tone and this thing sunds great!! I never used aflange this much but now I use it as often as my echoplex and mu-tron phasor which are my 2 favorites!! This thing cost me a fortune, but there isn't another flanger I would trade this for and plus there weren't too many made so I'm paying for taht as well.....this pedal has pure versatility which is what I look for with a pedal. You can make this thing sound like and alien spaceship landing or very transparent and smooth, plus the ability to manually control the flange via foot pedal is really cool!

Sounds cool no matter what you do. Since you can choose to either manually sweep the pedal or use thier controls, the unit is extremely flexible

Unit is pretty noisy and can be used as part of the effect. The sweep range is so wide that it can take 20 seconds to complete a cycle. From Van Halen to Space ships with a turn of the speed knob.

Had some problems with the jacks. Otherwise, a very rugged box. This one was owned by Elloit Easton from The Cars. I'm pretty sure it was used extensively on the "Drive" tour. Can't complain

One of the best pedals I own (besides the Mu-Tron Octave Divider. This pedal is pure inspiration. I only hope they bring this one back at Sovtek
