Very easy to use!
Three "true-bypass" switches: Effect On/Off; Fast/Slow rotation rate; Overdrive On/Off..
Then, you have two knobs: mic placement (adjust the amount or percentage) and Overdrive (overdrive amount).
Pretty simple, but you can fine-tune your sound with three more options with dedicate trimmers: fast, slow and overdrive.
The manual says it all, don't worry!
I personally prefer this to his "father", the DR stereo... It's smaller and runs with a conventional 9v adapter instead of 24v!

The FAST Leslie sound is always the most difficult effect to achieve with an effect pedal... Now, with this unit, I can stop carrying my 1969 Leslie 16 cabinet to the shows and give my back a little more life!
How many choruses/flangers/tremolos/etc etc I've tried in my life? Many... Way too many!
Ahhhh.. now my search has come to an end...!
My gear: 1961 Stratocaster-> 1969 V846 Vox Wah Wah-> VDL L'Overdrive->Fulltone '69 Fuzz-> Option5 DR Single-> Fender 1963 brown Vibroverb Reissue OR 1959 Bassman

Great, great great great!!!!!!!
Playing Blues and sometimes Rock, I really dig the old Leslie sound... This unit is the best replica I've found...
Oh, it's not 100% Leslie sound, but there's a reason: it's physical impossible to replicate the doppler effect you hear in your head... There are the THREE DIMENSIONS acting with sound, in conjunction with the FOURTH, which is Time!

Out of the box: an E-Z to read & use manual and great tones. I saw Johnny Hiland use it down in Nashville and was hooked. I had lugged a rebuilt Vibratone in a road case for years: I just saved all the techs and myself our collective backs.

The controls work well and do as they're supposed to. This is not like "pushing air", but damn close and not at all like a spinning flanger. This unit is not thin at all. No noise, works as a stomper or in your FX send/return loop. It's been used with Fuchs, Bogner, Mesa Lone Star Special and Vox combos: sounds great.

Playing everything style-wise, studio to jobbing to festivals: this thing is well-built & reliably consistent. I would get one again, and the spacxe & weight it saves will floor you. A useful tool. Order it from Pedal Geek: they are great to deal with.

With or w/o an amp: a great sound for the $'s. No noise for the most part, and ot can be switched for keys or guitar. Used with Fuchs, Bogner, Mesa or Star: it sounds pretty tuff in any rig. It also is a bit of a volume booster too. Saw Johnny Hiland use it down in Nashville & it was tasty.

It does not aound exactly like a Vibratone or 147, but it's damn close and a great deal smaller & lighter. Better than the Rotosphere & other simulators.

Ver simple to use. Beware that the stereo outs are no true bypassed. You will either: (A) need to go mono or (2) invest in an outboard stereo bypass, unless you want to dedicate this pedal to two amps set up only for a Leslie effect. At that point, you might as well get a Leslie.

This is a very good sounding pedal, even in mono. I prefer it to the other Leslie sims, all of which I have tried. The real trick with this pedal, as with all Lelsie sims, is to put a tube screamer type OD in front of it (in lieu of its own overdrive feature). This pumps the mids, adds a bit of compression and hits the unit just right. That's really the cold shot sound, but is also key for Badge-like slow rotations.

How much easier could you get? The only decision you need to make is; do you want it slow or fast. I can't get a bad sound out of this unit. The fast sound is the best!

I'm using a strat and fender hot rod deluxe with various analog pedals. I have been playing for years and have played through most guitars, amps and effects over the years. This is the best fast leslie simulation I have ever heard. It is sweet; I have played the real deal too. You can get the cold shot thing perfect; it really sounds like a spinning speaker... it's quite amazing to my ears (and I'm very picky).

I play a Gretsch 6120 through a 1962 Fender piggy back bandmaster head and 2x12 cab. The only other fx's I use is a Roland re301 space echo (for lushious slap back and analog delay), and a Fulltone full drive 2 overdrive. The sound of the Rotation is great. I'm sure a real Leslie may sound 10 times better as probably does one of those Little Lenelie (prob spelled that wrong), I guess it would be similar in comparing a vintage pre cbs handwired Fender amp with that of say a new twin reverb pc board reissue fender, its almost there but not as sweat and buttery. But for me the amount of times I'm going to use this effect and the fact that a real leslie is a hassle to lug around not to mention alot of bones; this pedal seems to be the best compact simulation of a Leslie. It definately nails that Let It be era Harrison warbly sound. Which was all I was looking for. Please note this pdal is defiantely different than alot of the so called Un-Vibe clones which claim to be a rotation simulation. Don't get me wrong the unibe stuff is great but, it definately is more of the Machine Gun Hendrix sound where this pedal has it's own vibe going, not as worberly tremmy but more watery trippy. Whatever that means? All in all I like it and recomed it as a cheap alternative to a heavey lug around expensive vintage leslie cab, word!

I would definately use it on a gig with no backup, anything that is not massed produced and typically built rather esoteric and maticulas usually tends to withstand the elements. (unless of course your playing through a newer Mesa Boogie amp)!

I just got the pedal so I haven't dealt with them. On a side note I did however deal with Fulltone over a repair issue and they mocked me and told me I used a Line six power supply instead of the required fulltone. On a side note I've never owned any line six products. Hantalantas, Guanno, gwaylo.

As a Leslie Simulator, this is very good. I agree with the other reviewers w/r/t the drawbacks: (1) the ramp up speed is much too fast, (2) there is a lack of detail at the slow chorus speed, and (3) the impossibility of bypass when using tyhe pedal in stereo (which achieves its best sound). If it were better engineered, the pedal would rate an excellent. As it is, it is just very good

fot this pedal.

the fast speed is more convincing than the slow. i don't like the fact that
the builder felt the need to include overdrive in the sound (& this is
without having the drive feature engaged, which is pretty useless, as it
sounds terrible). it kinda ruins the slow speed, as it masks the sound of a
leslie (if indeed the slow speed has one). my major complaint with this
pedal is that it ramps up WAY too fast! it takes the feel out of the way
i've always heard reall leslies perform. they really should have included
something to define the delay time between speeds. in fact, they REALLY
should have included the ability to adjust the speed of the low against the
high rotor, because the slow speed really needs some help. and i don't like
the huge bump in volume when the pedal is engaged.

basically, i feel like i was ripped off, because this pedal did not come
cheaply. i really should have gone with my gut instinct, & gotten a used
korg g4; the clarity of sound i've heard in the korg leslie basically leaves
the option5 in the dust.. now i know why there is currently a glut of these
on the market. and i feel like i've been stuck with an expensive, &
basically useless pedal.

I am a guitarist and a keyboardist. I have a real Leslie and when I can't have it with me this pedal is the next best thing. With the proper set-up it sounds exactly like the real deal. Also it is the only pedal I have come across that can split the frequencies by stereo with highs to one side and lows on the another. It is simply a beautifully thought out effects box.

I play just about every style of music there is and this pedal has worked its way into my permanent set-up. When I play my hammond through my leslie my guitar with this pedal can match right up with it. All his products are first class. One would be extremely hard pressed to find a better product, and I say that as a guy who owns over 50 pedals and other variuous effects. Truly worth every cent.

I've only been playing keyboard for 1-1/2 years. By no means do I cosider myself a professional. I can't even read music. But I do have a good ear for it. I only have a Yamaha PSR 740. I only give $600 for it, but it's more than what I need. As for the Option 5-DR, I guess I was expecting much more because of the great reviews. From the way people were talking, This is the next best thing to a leslie cabinet. For $250, maybe so, but don't over do with the compliments. Personally speaking, I think there are better (and more) rotary speaker effects on my PSR 740.
I, for one, am sorry I bought it before actually listening to one. If I heard it beforehand, I never would have bought it. I used it for 5 minutes, put it neatly back in the box, and decided I messed up. Mine is officially for sale.
