Very easy to use. You have a depth knob to control how much of the phase you hear, and a rate knob to control how fast the phase goes. There is no manual necessary for this puppy because if you can't figure it out, chances are you don't know how to read anyway.

Sound Quality : 9
It sounds very smooth and pleasant. With the depth at zero to about noon, it is tough to pick up much effect unless you have the rate cranked. You can get a very subtle phase this way if you aren't looking to use much of the effect. From noon on up, the effect is more up front and obvious. The sound is very warm and organic, not digital in the least since this is an analog pedal.

With the distortion, this effect becomes more obvious, and you might have to dial back any settings you have for a clean sound if you use this with your distortion. Still, it retains a very warm tone for distortion.

It has true bypass, so it doesn't effect your tone when switched off. When turned on, it changes the tone, even with the phase at its lowest levels. However, this isn't a big deal to me because why turn your phaser on if you don't want the effect to be used and noticed? It does, however, seem to drop the volume a touch. That could be because of where the phase starts once the pedal is switched on though. I really can't tell and it obviously isn't a big deal to me since I give it a high rating for sound quality.

Reliability : No Opinion
No problems yet, but haven't used it a lot so I'm going to withhold rating it for reliability. It's built like a tank though and seems very solid. If you wanted to bludgeon somebody to death with it (such as an overzealous groupie or drunken audience member who spills beer on your gear), it would kill somebody quicker than a Boss would.

Customer Support : 10
Sandy at Outlaw Supply was very helpful with all my questions about not only this pedal but some other ones he offers. He even volunteered information that he didn't have to. This seems to be a DIY, home-based outfit, so Sandy values his customers and you can tell. If I ever have problems with his products, I can always return them or send them back for tweaking. That's how a business should be run! I will probably be buying more pedals from Sandy.

Overall Rating : 10
This is a nice compliment to the pedalboard I have now, even though I'm in the process of switching everything to analog except for my Boss Space Echo and my Digitech Whammy. I have played Gothic/Alternative/Rock style stuff in a band before, but that was with different gear. I'm currently trying to get back to my shoegaze roots and I think this pedal replaces my Boss PH-2 nicely. The PH-2 is notoriously digital and can be shrill and is not for everybody. The Mystic Ninety does what I want it to and cleans up my pedal chain sound noticeably even though it replaced only a single pedal (out of 8).

The Mystic Ninety also has a depth knob, which some phasers do not have. This was a must for me since I want to control how subtle or obvious the phase effect is.

I have a minor cosmetic preference when it comes to the placement of the 9 volt adapter slot. It is placed on the right side in front of the input slot. I personally would have preferred the 9 volt plug to be on the back end of the pedal or behind the input slot on the side. Like I said, though, this is a little thing and not a legit reason to keep somebody from buying the pedal.

Mystic Ninety is incredibly easy to navigate. More flexibility then the MXR Script pedal. Two knobs - one for speed and one for depth. If you turn the depth all the way up and put the speed around noon, you'll get a wonderful smooth phaser sound that is very musical and warm and it's applicable to both clean sounds and distorted.

Sound Quality : 10
Mystic Ninety is true bypass, true analog phaser pedal. This pedal perfectly nails the MXR Script pedal except it has the great sound of pure analog warmth with true bypass - tone preserving sound. I use all analog pedals Fulltone GT-500, Analogman Chorus, Biyang AD-7, into a Twin Reverb or my Deluxe Reverb. I need to keep a pure analog signal path and the Mystic Ninety let's me do that. I also use a Les Paul Standard, 70's Strat, G&L ASAT. No bypass pedal needed. If you're looking for a great phaser pedal, this is totally the one. I've tried a number of phaser pedals and nothing comes close to this one. I've been playing for 40 years and presently play in a praise band at church and needed to keep my tone intact. This pedal does the job. Check out ebay for Outlaw Supply. They have a nice line up of handmade quality pedals. I may buy another of their pedals. Top notch quality - look on the inside of the pedal and you'll go, Wow! Nothing digital here.

Reliability : 10
I believe this pedal will last a very long time. It is hand made and Outlaw Supply even customized my pedal a little for me. Nothing but high quality components, switches, case and everything. Great pedal overall. Buy one.

Here's the absolutely best part. I had to have my pedal tweaked, so I mailed it back. When I got it back in the mail, they did a fabulous job and it works like a million dollars now. Outlaw supply is the highest in integrity, honesty and personal attention. You can trust this company, I promise. Customer service is A+A+. Thanks Sanman!

Overall Rating : 10
This company is good on their word and they make the highest quality pedal with the highest quality components. Great phaser sound with the nice warm analog sound of the MXR Script pedal. And it's true bypass. You won't be disappointed. I'm a pleased customer - I wish everybody treated customers like this.
