Ease of Use : 6
I have found this item very easy to use. As always with peavey its very clearly labelled on the back. However, its not light! For a gig I would pefer something lighter.

Sound Quality : 8
I use the amp on a pair of full range Peavey Hysis 3's @ 700W rms. At gigs it's great, in church worship it's great, in fact it's just great. There is next to no hiss or noise from the speakers, but believe it or not, the fan is significantly loud! It tends to cause me an embarrasing "almost" silence between songs in gigs. The CS800x, which I also have, doesn't have the same problem, but it isn't half as good as the CS1000x. I've had it for years and have yet to hear it distort.
The output definately has alot more bass than the input does, though I haven't ever not wanted that!

Reliability : 10
I have never heard one, or heard of one going wrong. Peavey arn't the best on reliablity on the whole, but they got this one right. The only problem I have ever known is the lights on the sound level meter losing a conection....but why does that matter!

Customer Support : 8
I've never had any thing fixed by peavey, but I'm told they are great at it. All I can say for myself is that if you ever loose your instructions, they don't charge you for a PDF!

Overall Rating : 10
I have used amp mainly for rock music, though I have done everything from church worship to DJ work with it, and its been the best amp for the job each time. I am very biased because it was given to me with a bunch of other PA gear, but if someone offered me another for free, i wouldn't say no!

I use this amp for DJ work and Hometheater. It works great for both to power subwoofers. DDT compression works very well and you will never blow a woofer if you watch the lights on preprogramed material. Great subwoofer amp!

Sound Quality : 10
I have tried using it for full range high end speakers and you can definitely find better amps for critical listening such as my Carver PT-2400. Of course it also costs two and a half times more. For subwoofer amplification it gets a ten, for full range I give it a six.

Reliability : 10
CS-1000x is bulletproof and has never shut down on me or any other problems. I have even used it four ohms bridged and it never gets too hot.

Customer Support : 9
Peavey has good pone support but they are not known for high quality sound. I reccommend new powered Mackies for fullrange and upper range sound

Overall Rating : 10
It is kind of heavy to lug around for mobile use but it is worth it for reliability. I would definitely buy more of these amps if I had more money and a club to put it in.

It doesn't color the sounds going into it. It makes your pre amp signal louder so people can actually hear you at a gig with 2000 people.

Very clean THD .02%

Not a lot of variety. After all its a power amp.

It does not distort, even at high volumes.

Features : 9
Not a slew of features but the usual dual channel, 525 watts a side, 4 speaker outputs, goes down to 2 ohm per channel ayy 750 watts a side, and so on. It's a power amp and a very great one at that.

Reliability : 10
It hass never ever let me down in all the three years that I have owned it. I do use it on gigs without a backup. It's solid state so no worrying about expensive power amp tubes.

Customer Support : 8
I never had to get help from the Peavey people, but I heard they are wonderdul and very helpful.

Overall Rating : 10
I'm a bass player, so I wanted a power amp that's LOUD in volume and quiet in noise. This is it. I tried Crown, Ampeg, Mackie, SWR, EV, and others and I have to say that the CS 1000X from Peavey beat them all in sound quality, tone, price, slew rate, dampening factor, and over-all quality. I would definetly buy the Peavey CS 1000X power amp again if it were stolen. I hope I always have it.

It faithfully puts out my lows and highs from my Ampeg SVP-PRO and my SWR Interstellar Overdrive.

This is the best power amp for bass EVER!

Put it this way. This is studio quality rackmount power amp. Wow! Only .02% total harmonic distortion, ultra fast slew rate, and top rate components inside and out!! It isn't noisy at all. In fact, this power amp is very very quiet. No hiss whatsoever, but it can go very loud. 1000watts RMS.

Features : 10
A simple and very clean rackmountable power amp. Class A/B operation. Over a 1000 watts rms so it can go very loud. Very quiet fan operation. Excellent for studio, bass rigs, and PA systems. Solid state with ultra high quality electronics.

Reliability : 10
I have used this power amp on gigs and in the studio and it has performed for me perfectly

Very easy to get a great sound out of it. What goes in sounds exactly like what comes out. This is a 2 channel A/B solid state power amp.
There is a manual with lots of good information. There are two independant vloume dails and led displays for each channel.

Sound Quality : 10

The CS 1000X is both the studio standard and the gigging standard for power amps. Toally linear operation and totally reliable. On gigs it holds up night after night and in the studio it reproduces music accurately and perfectly

Customer Support : 9
They have helped me out many many times so I'll give them a nine!

Overall Rating : 9
This is like the top of the line Electro Voice power amp but much more reliable and much more affordable. I have been playing thirty years and I have used most every power amp made. The Peavey CS 1000X beats the competition in the quality of sound, the reliabilty factor, and the affordabilty.

Bottom Line: If you see one selling used for under a $1000, buy it! An excellent value and an excellent product.
