I don't know if there is more then one box in the DEP 800 Series, but mine was a rack mounted Delay box. It's very easy to use. A couple minutes turning the knobs and you'll have explored all of the psycodelic possabilities.

You certainly couldn't say that the sound that went into it was the sound that I got out of it. Muffled and filtered just like any cheap box from the eighties.

I don't think it's going to die anytime soon. It doesn't have a wall wart, which is nice. The chorus outs on the back don't do anything on mine, and I can't get any expression pedal to work with it.

It's good for screwing around, but unless your in a Pink Floyd cover band it's not much use outside of your bedroom.
If it was stolen or broken and I saw another one in a store, I might laugh and buy it. By the way I stole mine from a friend and as far as I know he hasn't replaced it. I wish the expresion pedal would work, that would make a lot more fun. The most fun I ever had was I plugged a microphone into it then plugged the unit into a lesly speaker cabnet. Then after the Acid started kicking in for me and my friends, I turned it on while no one was looking and freaked the shit out of them. It was all like, "HEY Hey hey he h..." "DID Did YOU You you HERE THAT Hear That hear that..." WHAT THE FUCK Fuck fuck fu f..." It was all kinds of crazy. It was definitlly worth the price I paid!
