You get your sound with a simple twist of knobs. Very easy to use, versatile and one rack space. The manual gives some conections tips and diagrams that may be useful for any application. It really is an piece of cake.

Has got an expander, subharmonic generator, and bass improvement, as well as a crossover, so that you can route the generated bass somewhere else, and mids and high frecuencies to another place (lets call it an amp, etc.). If you don't want to separate them, just push a button and they will be routed together (having still the bass output in case you may wanna do whatever comes to your mind).

Sound Quality : 10
This is where the kosmos gives you something you haven't heard before. Either you use it in you Bass guitarr setup, you guitar setup, or a mayor P.A. setup, Kosmos gives a clear, crystal sound and separates well bass, mids and highs, so that any instrument comes clearly audible in the mix. Cero noise, I use it in live venues, recording drums, as a mastering tool. I cannot describe the sound, 'couse it does not have a name, I just know it makes the sound...huge!!...

The difference can be noticed by pushing the By-pass button... WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!...

Reliability : 10
I have never needed a backup... It is a Peavey gear... very well constructed, a tank itself.

Customer Support : 10

Overall Rating : 10
I have been recording, playing and mixing for several years. This unit has got reputataion among engineers, sound proffesionals and musicians for its great performance. I like to try anything that comes to the Sound market, when I tryed out this unit, I fell inlove with the sound it shares, and the reliability that is built on its name. GIVE IT A TRY, AND LET YOUR EARS DECIDE...

I wright all sorts of heavier electronic stuff and have always had problems getting the bottom end to really Drop out and Growl, this unit really helps alot with this problem. I have owned three other units of this type a Behringer ultrafex(Awfull), and an older BBE Enhancer(Was ok But a little harsh and artificial, and an older Aphex Aural Exciter with C2 big bottom, model 104(Best of the 3 but still not nearly as good as the Kosmos)If stolen or lost I would of course replace it as soon as possible. What I like about the unit is Basically the low high separation, You can add lots of rumble without muddying up the whole mix. I don't like not being able to adjust the frequencies but this has been fixed in the kosmos pro, I wish I had it and as far as anything else I would trade this unit for would be the pro model instead.

It's very simple to use....just have your listening ears on...and a GOOD P.A. or stereo

Sound Quality : 10
I am using this as a mastering tool...and let me tell ya, this thing does the job. It adds the right amount of bottem, and crisp highs. One word of advise is to make the mix as SWEET as possible before you use it. Only once you've reached that point where you feel it can't possibly get any better, pop it in.

I have used it live in my PA, and it pounds. Any serious musician should buy this to set them apart from all of the other bands.

Wow,I bought the peavey kosmos without knowing what a sub-harmonsizer
could do! This thing is awesome for live sound aplication in a P.A.,but the real find was when I patched it through the FX loop in our guitarest Waller Amp head.(not the sub channel) If you've played a Waller you know it has no balls compared to Mesa or Marshall, but with the Kosmos,it kicks the crap out both of them. It's like swooping the low end,but being able to control how much it swoops.Crunch City!
(9 because it's little tricky to patch in the right outlets for FX loop.)

Sound Quality : 10
(I know this isn't the right sound Apl.)I am a bass player who had the Kosmos running through the FX loop of my Gallien Krueger RB400 hartke 4x10/Eden 1x18,Mesa V-twin pre-amp peddle.Oh and I play a Steinberger. To be souly used by a bass player, you will need a sub-woofer.The effects are great like I mentioned earlier.Never weak or destorted.Though i never have turned the kosmos it's self all the way up.

I haven't had it long enough to say

There is no processor that is easier to use. Just plug it in and it works.

Sound Quality : 10
I installed it in my band's PA system and oh what a difference it made. The bottom end even at low volumes will punch your lungs out and the rest of the mix seems much clearer.

Reliability : 10
I have only had the Kosmos for approx. 1 month, but knowing Peavey, it will stand up to anything.

I have never needed to contact Peavey.

I play in a variety band which covers from tghe 1940's to music of this date and the Kosmos takes the guess work out of EQ'ing. Plug it in and it just sounds good. I was very happy with the sound of our PA prior to using this unit and have high end gear, but wow, what difference the Kosmos made. The way I learned of the Kosmos was just by walking into a local music store and a salesman pointed it out and auditioned it. Being skeptical because it was being used to enhance the sound of a CD, I bought it because it was so cheap (Price I mean) and I figured that I could place it in my home stereo system. Well I placed in the PA system and then bought a second for my home stereo.
Good Job Peavey.

I am a KJ and a DJ and if you want bottom end in your show then buy this!!! I used a BBB 362SW with bulit in sub crossover until I found this amazing piece of equipment! I traded my BBE in on it!!The only thing I miss is the variable frequency control on the subwoofer crossover. The KOSMOS is locked in at 90Hz but it works fine!!
