only three controls
1] output level
2] wet/dry mix
3] input level...............pretty easy i'd say
4] 16 position pot for reverb selection
1-6 small room
7-13 large room [including the longest cathedral i've ever heard.]
14-16 gated/reverse

what prompted me to write this reveiw is the sheer number of reverb pedals i have owned over the years, until i picked up the srp-16!
owned all three boss reverb pedals,a verbzilla,an alesis micro-verb and a couple stand alone fender tube reverbs over the years.
the srp-16 is by far the best of these in a pedal, second only to the big kahuna fender tube reverb unit.
yes,its digital, but the 16 bit processing really sounds comparable to something like a lexicon or tc electronics rack unit.
i'm splitting two amps with it and in stereo the room reverbs sound so three dimensional! theres a room that sounds killer for surf guitar when the wet dry mix is turned up.sure, theres no ratteling spring simulation,[boss shouldn't have even tried that one]but i'm not missing it,[and i love spring reverb].
the bypass sounds fine,no noticable tone sucking when off.
absolutely silent when on,zero added noise.
the SRP-16's reverbs sound realistic and natural.
i was concerned at the lack of a tone control, but the verbs are voiced perfectly and dont add or take away anything from my strats tone.
sure id like a dr scientist RRR or mr. springy, but at a fraction of the cost i'm 100% happy. hats off to PEAVEY USA!

dis-likes-
1]dont like the big rubber foot pad,but it never misses.you just have to put a little more weight on it than, say, a carling switch.
2] uses a 1/8 mini plug like an old dod or mxr
likes-
1]best digital reveb pedal i've ever owned.
2]killer stereo spread.much wider than boss's stereo reverb attempt.
3]natural tails on all the verbs

This SRP-16 is very easy to use. I'm not sure how I ended up with it. The guitarist in my old band I was playing bass for went off to LA and I just ended up with it. He got my DD-3 so it's fairly even.
There is no manual. Peavey.com had no match. It doesn't run on batteries so you need the special power adaptor. 12 bucks from Peavey.
It sounds great. I used to call it the cathedral pedal when the previous owner had it. One of the settings has insane reverb, like you're playing in a cave inside the Grand Canyon.

If you turn up the output too much you get excess noise.
Sounds great with the Deville's reverb, too. Double dipping.

Peavey support in Meridan, MS are the friggin best. I needed a power adaptor. 12 dollars and 3 weeks later it was here. They also fixed a faulty diode on it really fast and inexpensively. They're really friendly and easy to deal with on the phone. Peavey knows how to take care of its customers.

I use it with a Fender Blues DeVille 212 and a 91 Mexican Strat with elevens. The previous owner used a Les Paul with it. Sounds great either way. Use a little of it and it adds more balls to my metal zone pedal. If I had a Rat pedal, forgettabouit. Good stuff. Can't say enough about Peavey.

The sounds are all preset. You can only adjust the amount of effected signal with the dry level. A notched pot provides sixteen choices, grouped into categories of room, hall, gated, and reverse. Some have long tails others are short. It is easy to find a reverb sound for the type of style you are playing.
A green/red LED indicates signal level. Green is good, red is too much. Both green/red indicates the unit is on.
A silent FET footswitch activates the unit. It works well with medium pressure.
The unit only runs on an external 9-volt adapter (tip = positive).

This is the best sounding reverb you can currently find in a pedal unit. The signal/noise ratio is over 90db and the quality of the sounds are comparable to 16-bit stereo digital rackmount units. This is definitely one of those pedals that inspire you to play more.

Kasha Rockmod II preamp into a Mesa 50/50 amp. I had these in a bigger rack with a rackmount spring reverb. It was too much to haul around so I looked for a small reverb unit. I found this pedal reverb by Internet serendipity.
It actually sounds better than the spring reverb and expands my sound options. I also play into a crybaby and ibanez chorus. The only drawback is it takes up one more space on the floor.

SRP-16 Digital Stereo Reverb. This is the ivory coloured stomp box with the pink lettering. 4 knobs. 16 different reverb settings while the 3 other knobs vary the in level the out level and mix. No need for a manual. Some of the 16 selections are subtle while some are quite easy to notice. Very short rapid reverb to wild heavy stadium sized reverb with bounce back echo. The reverb options are endless. Operates only with a 9 volt d.c. adapter.

I use it with my solid body electric with humbucking P90 style pickups, harmonica and even voice. Incredible reverb sound without losing any tone and falling into that thunderous noise. I use it with my 5 watt or my 50 watt tube amps. The pedal is absolutely noise free. I use the settings at about half. Pedal works good with distortion, wah, delay, chorus and phaser pedals. This pedal sounds almost as good as a large reverb box with reveb springs. I have both. I can't decide which is better or more convenient.

I have had it for only a few months. Built in the 80's. Heavy metal construction with a large heavy rubber foot switch. Even the knobs seem robust. Would use it for gigging without backup any day. I am sure I couldn't easily find a second one anyway. It looks like it came out of the box yesterday.

I play mostly electric blues. However, I also play 60's surf, to country, to social dance music, pop, rock, etc. I have owned lots of stuff over the 40 odd years of playing guitar and harmonica. This is a great reverb pedal. At the same time, I also bought a Boss RX-100 Reverb Box which is a spring reverb box. The Boss does have a nice reverb sound, especially for harmonica and voice but the Peavey gives a larger variety of reverbs and is stomp box sized. I'm keeping both. I no longer have to search for a reverb.
