Easy to use. It has a quick and simple method for changing settings. i did read the manual first but i guess it wouldn't be difficult to understand how it works without reading it. The manual brings all the information needed to put this baby rockin', even setting tips for the compressor are showed.

I'm using a shure SM-58 and it sounds great on rehearsals(haven't yet had the opportunity to use it on a gig). Most effects are nice and warm(delay, chorus, flange, reverb, pitch shift, ), although i think the distortion it's a bit noisy. Just for stage use i thing, i you want it for studio recording better keep the money and buy a effects rack unit like the behringer Virtualizer 1000dsp. One more thing, you'll need some time to set all the effects volumes equal, because sometimes when changing to a higher volume effect it might tend to feedback, nothing that can't be avoid...

Only have it for a week, but i would use in a gig without back up.
It's a really solid built little pedal!!(Only the DSP EDGE wheel looks a little fragile).
Guess it was made for aggressive vocalists ;)

The best effects pedal avaiable for vocalists. I sing in a emu-metal band from portugal, and this pedal can give you and your band an edge over others, maybe a bit expensive just for a good live effects processor.
The thing i like more about the peavey vocal 100 over most other live vocal effects processors I've seen is it's durability, it's like a tank! And it features really cool effects, i couldn't live without it now. I'll give it thumbs up!!

Simple. Bought it used with no manual and it took me all of 2 minutes to understand. If you used 1 multi-effects, you've used them all...

Sounds good to me. The compressor is the best part. Dials! - right on the front. This allows you to dial out gain almost on-the-fly should you need to go to a more distorted channel for a song.
The reverbs and delays are nice and warm. Gate is easy to set and subtle enough to use with a variety of mics without having to re-set it each time. I use a Shute 555, not the best mic (more for the look)and it sounds great live.
Both XLR and line outs work simultaniously, which is an added bonus to me in our band's practice space as I can run one line out to a small personal monitor and the XLR to the PA.
Main problem with this one is the scrolling of the effects. I would prefer to have 4 presets in front of me to stomp live - and not have to stomp 2-3 times to jump between settings. If I'm on 1 and need to jump to 6 in the middle of a song - it ain't gonna happen.
Low Points - Distorted channels feed back way too much for me. They're pretty much unusable. Too much noise/hum to use in studio applications. Just a good live stompbox for the money.

Used it for a year - no probs. Seems rugged.

I play melodic rock/pop/trip and the ability to stomp my vocal effects has really transformed our gigs. Hard to imagine gigging without it now.

Fairly easy to use. Programming it is a breeze. No chance to read
the manual as I was trying it out in the store. This is the newest
version of the pedal(black version) as it was released a few years
ago in red. Note this is a vocal floor effects unit.

This is where Peavey went horribly wrong. They use 24 bit effects,
16 bit A/D 18 D/A but then they cheapen out and use a 22.4 KHZ sampling rate. This means that your effects will sound like
something out of an AM radio. 41.5 KHZ is CD quality. 33 KHZ is
cassette deck quality. so 22.4 KHZ is below fm radio. It is AM radio.
The Vocal 100 osn't noisy and the effects it odes have a very neat
and usable, but they just get squashed by that 22.4 KHZ radio sound.
Why did Peavey cheapen out on this point. Everything else about this
pedal is great. But sadly the slow sampling rate of the pedal ruins
any sound going into it.
Big fuck-up! I even told Peavey about 2 years ago that their sampling
rate was way too low. They replied that it was good enough for stage
use.
My reply: Would you pay close to 500 dollars for something that
was only good enough for stage use????????????
Sometimes Peavey does not listen to what the customers have to say.
I suspect this pedal will be deleted by the end of the year 2000.
What a screw-up and they still wouldn't listen to the voice of reason.
I could buy an excellent Alesis rackmount that would sound
50 times better for the same price.

I never bought it. Thank Krishna, I had the opportunity to test
it out before I could dumbly buy it. It looks really well made. Heavey
sheet metal and thick metal footknobs to change patches. I would use
it on a gig without a backup as this thing will last. Hell I'll
wait ten years a buy one off some bum for 10 bucks. An dit will still
work. Peavey gear will last.
Although I read a review about some guys Peavey Rage that he let his
cats piss on. Very Funny!

Basicaly this Vocal Pedal is like a 1968 Mustang with a Chevette
4 cylinder motor. It tries but can never get it up! I wouldn't buy
it and I wouldn't buy it again if it were stolen. As I said before,
I'll buy it in ten years for a paper wieght from some bum on the
street for 10 bucks.
Peavey screwed this one up. It is perfect in everyway except
the very poor sampling rate which makes every effect sound like
an AM radio.
Note: I have also tried those floor voacl effects by DOD and they
were even worse with no redeming caharcteristics. Even DOD's housings
were a cheap plastic. At least Peavey made this one like a tank!
I'll give it a 3 only because structurally it is made well.
