Very simple pedalboard to setup, the unit comes with light duty Velcro, not really strong enough for my tastes...So, I made it a bit more complicated by using two types of Velcro. I covered the aluminum with the black Velcro that was provided with the unit, then I used Dual-Lock heavy duty Velcro for affixing the pedals to the board...they aren't going anywhere!
The unit also comes in a nice briefcase, tough enough for getting to gigs and touring around here.

No sounds, until I try to pull the pedals off...then you'll hear me grunting, that heavy duty Velcro holds on tight!

I love the board, it's the toughest pedalboard i've ever owned, and the case is very nice too...it's not ATA, but it's tough enough for touring this country, as long as I get to pack the van.

I play Americana music, not a lot of effects...this is the perfect pedalboard for my needs...i've gone through about four or five boards in the past, this one's a keeper!
I always wanted to get one of these, but the $169.00 price tag at the Mesa Boogie store seemed a bit high...then, when Pedaltrain dropped the price to $99.00 including the case, it was time for an upgrade!

Doesn't much simpler than this: snip a little velcro off the roll, and stick it down. If you know how to plug a cord in an effects pedal, you graduate.

Absolutely. Solid metal frame, and it comes in a flight-type case with egg-shell type foam padding in the cover. Mount your pedals, tidy up the wires and forget it. Easy set-up and take-down, and very portable. Solid as a rock and built with equipment portection in mind

There are (or were) four small foam or rubber feet things stuck on the bottom of the fram, to keep it from sliding. Two of mine were unstuck. I emailed Pedal Train, and an hour later received an apology and a promise they would send out several improved "feet" the next morning. Now that's service and customer care!

The folks at Pedal Train did the right thing by not including a power supply as part of the package. For one thing, it keeps the cost down. Secondly, there are several options (and price ranges) for various power supplies -- and each guitarist I'm sure has a personal preference, depending on the effects he or she uses. The beauty of this board (besides being rock-solid) is its versatility in allowing for individualized pedal lay out. It also allows versatility in the use of whatever power source you use. Great value and a must-have.

Easy to use, if you are not stupid. Lot 'o velcro. playlikeapro.com has a very helpfull section on set-up. Planning is key. Gave it an 8 'cause there is a little prepping involved, although I prefer to do it myself, so that's cool. Definately well thought out product. 10 fer quality. The case has the coolest rubberized logo. Keen.

I'm using this chain:
-Custom guitar(based on '79 Ibanez blazer w/ JB jr in bridge, stock neck and middle)& a les paul & a custom Tele w/ hotrail bridge(hate it) & rio grande in neck into:
-mini ernie ball volume (split to boss tuner)
-dunlop crybaby with Fasel
-analogman bi-comp (the mini one)
-Barber Direct Drive (sweet)
-Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive (sweet, too)
-Voodoo Lab chorus
all into front end of Mesa DC-5, with:
-DanEcho
-VisualSound Liquid chorus&delay
into effects loop.
All George L cables. They all fit on board, JUST BARELY. I'm giving it a 8, but only because my tone rules, and I had alot of fun putting it all together.

Haven't had it long, but jeez, I'd have to run over it with a Kenworth to break it. No back up needed for this item. Like some previous posters, I think the goofy little glued-on rubber feet are definately not going to withstand any Jimi Hendricks antics for long. I , however don't hump amps or break stuff, so I am not too worried about it. If they come off, I'll fix it. 9 'cause the goofy feet.

I checked into every pedal board known to man. This was consistently recommended by people who's opinion I respect. Part of that recommendation was for the good customer service reputation. I have not had any experience with them, so no score yet.

I don't really play guitar as much as I fight with it, so I am no pro, but over the last 20 years, I've come to the conclusion that quality is key. This is a cool idea. I did a ton of research, and I do not regret this purchase. I would by again for sure. It's got a bit of extra room fer stuff, too. Good job to the folks at PedalTrain!! Although I didn't give any 10's, this product is greater than the sum of it's parts, so the overall is a 10 in my book!

Very easy to set up and use. Made out of some very sturdy aluminum. Came in a very indestructible briefcase type of case, which fits the board perfectly, because once you get your pedals velcroed to the board, all you have to do is take it out, and plug in and play. Then when you are done, unplug, place the board back into the case, and off you go. So easy....

Well, its a pedalboard, no sound. I just wish it was a littl bigger, with a power strip. But, I got a Voodoo Power Up, so its all OK now.
As for other equipment Im using, I hook up a Fulltone Fulldrive 2, a Boss DD 6, a TC electronic Chorus, a Boss Compression, a Phase 90, and , a Boss tuner, and sometimes a Rat Vintage pedal. All hooked into a Voodoo Lab power supply. I also have a Vox wah, but I mostly run it off the board for greater stability. I use two Tyler classic strats, and a Fender 72 custom tele.

I play mostly classic rock, some jazz/funk/blues/fusion. I have been plaing for about 25 years now. If my PedalTrain was stolen, I probably would have to get another one. I may get another one anyway to expand my pedal collection even more. Again, I just wish it had a built in power source, but the VooDoo lab power supply does the trick.

Extremely easy set up. Being able to route the cables underneath the beams is great. Plenty of Velcro is supplied with this. I have to take a point away for the size. It's just a tad small if you have larger sized pedals. This is what I was able to fit:
Morley Bad Horsie wah (which is quite large at the base)
Reverend Drivetrain
Visual Sound H2O liquid chorus & echo (another biggie)
Boss SD-1
Zoom PD01 power drive
Rat 2
DC Brick
Korg GT3 tuner

The case this comes with is pretty nice. Don't know about the lining inside though. It's a thin (1/8") compressed foam type of material glued to the inside of the case. Doesn't look like it will hold up, but the case itself is sturdy and the pedalboard is pretty much indestructable. The rubber feet on the bottom of the pedalboard are crap. Thin and soft and 2 of them fell off while I was setting up the board! Will have to find some better glue, but most likely I will look for some heavier duty feet, maybe even some small screw on jobs.

Overall, this is a very nice set up. I also got the George L red cable set. My board looks kick ass and I expect to have no major problems. The price is a bit high when you compare the size to other pedal boards out there. This is smaller than the nicer ones out there, and most of the larger pedal boards come with a DC supply and this does not. But, The quality of the board (indestructable metal) and the very nice carrying case IMO are higher quality then others. I would rate this an 8.5 based on it being a little too small, the crappy rubber feet, and I think the price should be 20-30 bucks cheaper based on no power supply.

Very easy. There was more than enough velcro included to attach all my pedals. Extra space inside the case around the board fits all my cables as well as extra batteries for my wireless setup. Makes setup/takedown quick.

My board configuration looks like this: Samson Airline Wireless receiver > Boss TU-2 tuner > Voodoo Lab Chorus > Boss BF-2 (soon to be replaced with something less noisy). I also have the stompbox that connects to my amp attached to the pedaltrain. I used to also have a Boss reverb/delay pedal which fit nicely with all.
The only real affect a non-powered pedalboard has on sound quality is the ability to fit your pedals in the configuration you wish. The pedaltrain accomplishes just that.

I gig without a backup. It keeps my pedals safe and prevents the knobs from being all tweaked like they used to when I carried them around in a backpack.

I had my pedaltrain perched on top of my amp at a gig with an uneven stage (stupid me). When I took the pedalboard out of the case, the case flipped backward onto the stage. It fell roughly 4 feet and landed on it's hinges. Unfortunately, after that the case wouldn't close correctly.
I e-mailed John Chandler (the owner of the company - and also the only contact on the website, pretty cool if you ask me) explaining my situation and asking what my options were. He got back to me the next day with a solution.
Shortly thereafter I had a pedaltrain in perfect condition. I cannot specify what it cost for replacement, but it was very reasonable.

This pedalboard is great. Originally, I bought a used DOD pedalboard and carved it up with an X-acto knife so it would fit my Boss pedals (all I had at the time). As I switched out Boss for other brands, I could no longer use the case. So, for awhile I carried around my pedals in a backpack. What a nightmare! Setup, etc. was a mess. Then came pedaltrain. I didn't want to spend $170 on a pedalboard, but after shopping around for different models and reading user reviews I bought the pedaltrain and haven't looked back yet.
I've had mine for about a year now. Whenever I'm at a gig I watch it like a hawk, but if somehow it was stolen I would definitely purchase another one.
I would recommend this to anyone wishing to protect their pedals and make setup/takedown simple. It is also very space-efficient...no one in my band has a van and so having a pedalboard that stacks easily is important.
The only drawback I can think of would be the size. If I were to add more pedals, they might not fit. But if that happens I'll either buy a second pedaltrain or the new larger model (if it's out). For now, the size is just fine.

very easy to use, its just a metal frame inside a big nice box? you put your pedals on the frame with industrial Velcro. Its raised slightly at the top end so cables etc can run underneath, making it tidy on top.

It?s a ?Aluminium? frame? of course its reliable. The case its self is beautiful and feels very sturdy. First day I got it two of the rubber feet fell off the bottom of the frame, the glue it was stuck with is shit. Now all four have fell off, I?ll have to find some thing different to stick on the bottom so its doesn?t slip when I tread on it. On the other hand the Velcro on the frame does a incredible job of making sure my pedals are going ?NO WHERE?.

It?s a brilliant idea, I was a bit sceptical paying #160 for a case with a metal frame inside. The case alone looks and feels the price. BUT? I do wish its was about four inches bigger, in my opinion it?s just that little to short. It?s good for smaller pedals (like Boss etc) but like someone said before if your running some line6 stuff or similar size pedals, there won?t be much room left to play with.
Also I thought that because its raised/slanted at the top it would be hard to get to the pedals, well I wasn?t entirely wrong? you have to balance when your playing, but its ok, just make sure the pedals you use the most are at the bottom of the frame so there easy to get to. It does have the advantages of tucking away those annoying cables/wires, thus making it look tidy. I?m happy till I can afford a super custom made pedalboard.

Very. To turn on/bypass the Boss wah you have to put considerable weight on the pedal. I do this about 10 times a gig (3 gigs a week). I've been using the board for about five months now and the aluminum hasn't bent at all.

I traded in the Pedal Pad for this because it was too big and heavy (made of wood). Also, after taking off the pedals a few times, the carpet hairs pulled. After awhile, you'd have to recarpet the wood to use it! Just change the velcro on the PedalTrain if you ever have that problem (so much easier).
This thing's size is excellent though. Easily holds Matrix Tuner -> Boss V-Wah -> Boss Acoustic Sim -> Boss Compressor -> Ibanez Flange -> Danelectro Trem -> Akai Headrush -> EH Holy Grail comfortably, plus all my backup crap (cords, tools, etc) in the case. All you need to carry is this thing and your guitar bag.

Solidly built out of Aluminum. With Space to run AC adapters/wires. I use it at every gig for my pedals. It comes in a fairly nice locking case (non flight case). I think it be approved on. I added screwed on rubber feet to prevent it from sliding on hard surfaces. The felt tabs that came with the unit fell off the first time I used it.

Moslty Classic rock, soul and R&B. By far it is the best pedal board on the market that won't crack or break with heavy use. Velcro attaches all pedals, Morley volume/wah, TS-9, Boss acoustic simulator, and Boss DD-5. All powered by a Voodo Labs Pedal power box and I also attached my Fender 3 channel switch for the evil twin. I have all cables (extension cord & guitar chords) wrapped together in a 1" black flex tube that runs from my pedal board to my power conditioner& amp. I will share set up thoughts to anyone interested.
