Very. To turn on/bypass the Boss wah you have to put considerable weight on the pedal. I do this about 10 times a gig (3 gigs a week). I've been using the board for about five months now and the aluminum hasn't bent at all.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Not needed.

Overall Rating : 9
I traded in the Pedal Pad for this because it was too big and heavy (made of wood). Also, after taking off the pedals a few times, the carpet hairs pulled. After awhile, you'd have to recarpet the wood to use it! Just change the velcro on the PedalTrain if you ever have that problem (so much easier).

This thing's size is excellent though. Easily holds Matrix Tuner -> Boss V-Wah -> Boss Acoustic Sim -> Boss Compressor -> Ibanez Flange -> Danelectro Trem -> Akai Headrush -> EH Holy Grail comfortably, plus all my backup crap (cords, tools, etc) in the case. All you need to carry is this thing and your guitar bag.

Solidly built out of Aluminum. With Space to run AC adapters/wires. I use it at every gig for my pedals. It comes in a fairly nice locking case (non flight case). I think it be approved on. I added screwed on rubber feet to prevent it from sliding on hard surfaces. The felt tabs that came with the unit fell off the first time I used it.

Moslty Classic rock, soul and R&B. By far it is the best pedal board on the market that won't crack or break with heavy use. Velcro attaches all pedals, Morley volume/wah, TS-9, Boss acoustic simulator, and Boss DD-5. All powered by a Voodo Labs Pedal power box and I also attached my Fender 3 channel switch for the evil twin. I have all cables (extension cord & guitar chords) wrapped together in a 1" black flex tube that runs from my pedal board to my power conditioner& amp. I will share set up thoughts to anyone interested.

Easy to use. It's lke a suite case. Once you velcro everything down then you're set. You just pull out your board and plug up. It is without a doubt the best protecting pedal board on the market. Some people say $169 is too much for a pedal board with out a power supply. That's Bull Shit because of the quality of the metal die-cast board and the case that comes with it. The case is worth $100 by itself so the price is right. I will say the only thing that is a downside it is the size. If you are using a power supply that has to go on the board that's more space already taken up. If you're using mainly smaller stomp boxes then you will have enough room. But if you use bigger stuff like Line6 modlers then you won't be left with alot of room. Other than the size, everything else about it rocks!

Sound Quality : No Opinion
Since the pedaltrain doesn't come with a power supply the sound quality all depends on your source.

Reliability : 10
It is definetly reliable. It's hard-shell case is equipped with metal framing and you can't hurt it. That's the main reason I bought the pedaltrain was the protection it gives you and your pedals.

Customer Support : 10
Customer support it awesome with the Pedal Train company. The owner John Chandler is professinal, and the nicest guy you will meet. His company does all they can to help you.

Overall Rating : 10
I play a Fender Stratocaster through a Fender Hot Rod DeVille(4x10). I might buy another pedaltrain board...that's how good it is! I do wish it was bigger, and had more room inside the case(that's not a big deal-it already has room for cables and shit, but a little more room would be nice for extra pedals). But besides that everything else about that pedalboard is the best!!! If you don't buy a pedaltrain you're lacking in the brain. You would also be a pussy for not buying it, if you can't handle the strength and toughtness it has!

Very Very Easy. Just velcro on your pedals, route all your cables and you're all set. Everything looks and works great.

Sound Quality : 10
Well this is a pedalboard, a device to keep all your pedals together, so there's no sound coming from the board, so I can't comment on the sound quality. However, keeping everything together and protected is a very valuable thing. The pedaltrain keeps your pedals, patch cables, power cables, etc... protected so you know that when you step on that stage that everything will work and sound the best possible.

Reliability : 10
Incredibly well build. Very sturdy when stomping pedals. The case is very well built. This thing will last. It's like asking the reliability of a huge peice of a metal. If you were to punch it, you would break your freaking hand.

Customer Support : 10
OK. Seriously. I noticed on their website that they were coming out with new models. It didn't specify what the new models will be. So I e-mailed the company owner (John Chandler) asking about the new models and he responded in like 15 minutes. Incredible. His e-mail was nice, detailed, just excellent. He explained to me that there are new models that will be as following:
1. The "pedaltrain-pro" it will be 32"x16" and come with an ATA style HEAVY DUTY flight case with recessed hardware and wheels on one end. Serious tour grade stuff!

2. The pedaltrain-jr. 17"x12.5" in a high quality padded gig bag, a low cost alternative for small pedal board needs.

3. The original size pedaltrain 22"x12.5" will be available in both a gig bag version or the current hard case.

SWEET!

This guy has an awesome product with awesome customer support. I don't really know what else you could want. John Chandler is a great guy. It's like buying a pedalboard from a guy you've known for years. Too bad not everyone selling a product is like John. A+++++++++++++++++++++++ Incredibly kind and helpful!

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing modern rock for about 8 years now. I play Paul Reed Smith Single Cut 10 Tops into a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier stack, and this thing is the best peice of guitar equipment that I think I've ever purchased. I'm actually suprised at the cost of this thing. I would expect to pay the $160 that I spent on it (musicians friend) on the case alone. If this thing was stolen and I went to buy another one and found that the price was bulked up to $300, I'd still buy one and be super happy with it. People who think this thing is too expensive are just cheap or stupid, and have never purchased a quality road case before so wouldn't know what people pay for them.
If you need a pedalboard and you don't buy a pedaltrain, you're an idiot. Period.

Hey, it's a pedal board! Stick 'em on with Velcro. Very easy. The spaces between the aluminum slats make running the cables simple.

Very sturdy, lightweight aluminum. The soft case is also rugged. Should last a lifetime.

What I like best about this rig is its light weight. The Pedaltrain itself is lightweight aluminun, and I have the soft case which offers great protection for gigging or rehearsing without breaking your back. Simple ideas are the best.

It's pretty straightforward. I like the fact that the frame of the board is lightweight. Good design. The angle and frame allow for easy routing of cables.

Solid. I had some trouble with the velcro sliding a bit, but I think that may have to do with hot summer days. I have the older soft case, and the seams on the inside seem to be tearing a bit, but I probably overload it.

Excellent. Fantastic response.

Best one on the market, I think.

This product is very easy to use. It's a Pedalboard, so there isn't any adjustment, or effect on sound quality etc. But you attach the provided velcro and it allows you to configure your pedals in a variety of ways to suit your needs. Then you put it in the case and off you go. It makes your life easier with regard to your guitar or bass rig.

Sound Quality : 10
Of course this unit does not effect sound quality. There are a number of devices on it that do. It has a positive effect on my sound considering that if I didn't have it, I'd be reluctant to carry around as many effects due to the inconcenience. So in that regard I would say it makes me sound great. NOTE:This isn't one of the "all in one" boards that in my opinon "CAN" have an effect on your sound due to cheap power supplies and inexpensive "routing" features that introduce all sorts of connections and hardware (read: more that can go wrong and effect your signal). Start with this board as a GREAT foundation, put quality stuff on it, and you'll have a GREAT rig. Now, if it could only make me play better.......

Reliability : 10
The unit is constructed from aluminum. There are no moving parts. Everything is solid and welded together. I'm thinking that there isn't much I'll be able to do to it to break it. I would gig without a backup for sure. Tough as nails!!!

Customer Support : 10
I've dealt with the owner of the company. VERY Quick responses to emails. And SUPER friendly. John cares about his customers and it shows. Wonderful guy and Great company.

Overall Rating : 10
It's not very often that a product like this comes along. From it's thoughtful design to it's fantastic quality. I almost forgot to mention....It comes with a GREAT hardshell case that the board fits in and that has extra room for cords, extra pedals, etc. It is exactly what it has to be, nothing more. I've used it and got great feedback from other pros who loved the idea and felt that the company really hit on something. The old saying "The best things are usually very simple" is true here. This is destined to be a "Classic".
Great Job John!!!

It only took me about ten minutes to finish the initial setup, after that all I do is unplug the cables and throw her in the case. All of my cables are under the board so i don't have to worry about accidently unplugging my effects.

Sound Quality : No Opinion

Reliability : 10
Very reliable, what would you expect? It is made out of aluminum rather than some sort of plastic. Ill never need another pedalboard except maybe a second if I accumulate that many pedals.

Customer Support : 10
When i was looking into the pedaltrain I took some measurements and found that all my stuff might not fit on the surface (Digitech processors take up a lot of room). I emailed John Chandler (Maker of the pedaltrain) about it and he gave me great assistence on my pedalboard. Even emailed me back within five hours! And he even cared enough to tell me to email him back on how it worked out!

Overall Rating : 10
This pedalboard so far has worked out quite well for me. It's durable enough to withstand my weight when I have to switch different effects on and off and it allows you to choose which kind of velcro to stick on the surface (nice if you take your pedals off the board and you don't want them to to stick to the carpet floor).
The only board for me.

I've only had it for a day, but it definitely seems reliable. That's why I bought this in the first place. This beats the crap out of my plastic SKB board anyday. The pedalboard itself is metal and comes in a nice hardshell case with extra room for cables. There are also slots in the pedalboard to help hide cables. Nice!

Customer Support : 10
I emailed John Chandler with a few questions one night. The next morning, I had a good, in depth response. Probably the best customer service by far.

Overall Rating : 10
This is definitely a great pedalboard. It neatly fits my 5 Boss pedals and my Big Muff, with some extra room to spare. I'll be needing another board here pretty soon because more pedals are on the way. This doesn't have a power supply, which is actually good since I can now pick a good quality power supply. A strong, reliable board with reliable customer service. What more could you want?

This is where the Pedaltrain excels. This thing is built like a Mack truck on steroids. I would highly recommend it for any touring musician.

Customer Support : 10
John Chandler personally answered my inquiry and was very prompt and helpful! He even gave me info on how to order the hard case. I have yet to find better customer support.

Overall Rating : 10
You really have only two choices for pedalboards. Premade anvil-type or plastic SKB/Furman types and the Pedaltrain. I believe it belongs in a class by itself. This thing is made of metal and will withstand any type of abuse that you throw at it. I believe this is the only board that will last a lifetime. There are no fancy gimmicks attached. This is the highest rating I have ever given any product. I own one already, but will purchase another for my second setup. Do not get one with electronics attached. They go bad sooner or later. With the pedaltrain, you just upgrade your toys.
