Just as easy as before it was modded, but now it has an extra toggle switch to fatten up the tone, not only does this switch add stacks of bass, the gain is also thickened up a treat, the overall tone is noch more natural and not as compressed.

Its a massive improvement on the stock pedal, the level of unwanted background noise is also reduced, which was a nice suprise. I opted for the extra Burr Brown mod, well worth the money. Probably my favorite overdrive pedal right now, the TS9 has taken a back seat, and my DS-1 isnt quite in the same league, I might get another - one set to slight crunch/boost, the other set to near maximum gain, both with bass boost 'on'.

Seems solid as all Boss pedals are, had a sneakey look inside and the wiring is tidy, solder joints look clean and very neat.

Rapid response to all my questions, often at crazy times at night, do these guys ever sleep? Treats you like a mate - very old fashioned these days!

I dont really play blues despite loving the BD-2, more the classic 70s rock and 80's metal.

No change to the controls of the stock Blues Driver. No need for a manual - if you can't work 3 knobs take up drums ;-)

The change from the stock Boss pedal is truly astounding. Chris does a sort of combination of the Keeley and Monte Allums mods that gives the best of both worlds. Instead of the thin, shrill tone that the stock pedal provides this is full and raunchy. The best way to describe it is 'it's like a valve amp in a pedal'. It compresses like a valve amp and responds to changes to guitar volume in a similar way. - yes it cleans up from your guitar!!
I have a number of Boss and other pedals that Chris and others have modded and it's a close run thing because all of them sound so much better than the originals but this is the best - it's stunning!

It's a Boss pedal that's been modded by a craftsman who really cares about his work, of course it's reliable.

Truly excellent - Chris really cares about the standard of his mods and always has time for a chat via e-mail and is happy to answer any questions.

I play in a classic rock covers band and but this pedal would do it all from blues to hard rock (probably not metal though!). It's great with an amp that's just breaking up - overdrives it beautifully and with a different tone to a Tubescreamer or an SD-1 so it's worth having both on your board. I've done an open mic with it into a (very clean) Session 75 and I was able to pull off rhythm and lead for Lizzy stuff and some blues easily, just using the guitar's volume control. With my usual Trace Elliot Trident, it's a monster! If you have a BD-2 send it to PedalMods tomorrow. If you don't have a BD-2, buy one tomorrow and send it to PedalMods the next day - you won't regret it.
