This unit generates nothing *BUT* good sounds! Its controls are well laid out and extremely effective. The manual is clear, concise, and funny.
Mine is a prototype and is being upgraded this week. The production run starts in a few months.

I play a Conklin Custom Shop 8 string bass (fretted) and a Bee Queen 8 (fretless) through a Demeter VTBP-201s preamp, a Stewart World 2.1 power amp, and AccuGroove cabs (an El Whappo and a Whappo Grande).
The prototype has had a tendency to store a static charge, but that's one of the mods being seen to currently. It has true bypass circuitry and is all but silent.
I have been able to create sounds totally unique to this pedal and I love it! It's a combination envelope follower and low frequency oscillator. Killer!
The only reason I didn't give it a 10 is because of the static issue. I expect it to be perfect when I get it back.

I have had no problems in 2 weeks of rehearsal and 3 1/2 weeks of tour gigging. I'm heading into the studio in a couple of weeks and have no doubt it will shine.
This baby is built like a brick house!

David Koltai has been *AWESOME*! He's worked with me closely to get everything I want from this pedal and is a great guy. He's upgrading the unit even as I typpe this.

I use this Pigtronix primarily in a funk band, but I plan on using it in the sessions for my solo album this summer. It is one of the coolest pedals I've ever used.
I have been a pro player for more than 20 years now and also use EBS equipment (OctaBass), but these are of 2 different schools of thought and application.
If anything happened to my EP-0, I would replace it immediately!
I dig that this is an unique item with a singular sound. I can open it wide or apply it subtly and I never feel like I'm emulating anyone. That's pretty rare.
I would recommend this pedal for anyone, guitarist or bassist, who wants something different and funky. *VERY* cool effect!
