PreSonus ACP-22

Well we all know compressors are not easy to use, although the there are no presets, the manual gives you an explanation on theory of how the buttons work and gives you a guideline for different application. the labels are hard to see in the me

I use this together with the preonus bluemax(awseome compressor) I was thinking of buying another two bluemax until I saw this one which has a built in gate. I record on this with drums, bass and guitar and this unit is very transparent if you know what you are doing. if you get it right your recording will sound like a pro. On settings with realy low compression such as limiting there are times that i have to double check if the ACP-22 is even on because the sound is so transparent.

Some of the buttons ten to fall out of place, but I talk to presonus customer care and they are sending me a new one. but the unit itself is very sturdy and the knobs are reliable.

Buttons are jammed together pretty tight.Labeling of knobs is grey on blue,or something, below the shadows of the knobs=hard to see what your tweaking in vibe lighting.Attack and release=very cool!I agree that this piece is so transparent that it bummed me out.I prefer compression to pump and breath with character if I take it there.I'd have to give it a 10 if the knobs wer'nt so clutter'd+the paramiter labeling was so dark and hard to read.I guess for 300 bucks I should'nt be so picky.

It's a good company for sure.Consumer market is lucky w/ this co.Seems to be built with some cheap plastic that "looks not so built to last"???

I returned it and spent an extra buck 150 for a Drawmer DL241.If your gonna use a compressor,you get what you pay for usually.I just felt kinda "mild" about this piece.It's a compressor that gives you full att/rel functions=That makes it cooler than most budget stuff.

Very easy to use,but hard to read the very small gray labels on the dark blue faceplate. (yes, dark blue! Not like the advt.)No pre sets on this. There is an auto- attack and release for each channel (2Chanl) that works well. The mannuls got a couple of wise cracks in it that could have been better written. Ha- HA!!!!! The manual good but could have been a lot thicker if you know what I mean. I like book manuals, but theres IS short and sweet and to the point. in/out and gain reduction light bars are separate.

VERY TRANSPERANT!!!! I use it for digital recoding between mixer and sound card in my project studio. No more digital dist. on vocals!! I can wisper softly or scream my head off and it all good baby.

I sent it back because someone must have had a bad day at the plant or was on break when this one went thrugh the line. The top plate and face plate were smashed together, one on top of the other and a couple of in/out buttons stuck in the out possision. I will do an even exchange and repost it.
