just plug it in and turn it on

the premier 90 is an enigma... the chasing of tone ends here, no other on board or tank unit compares. i play it thru a 1959 premier model 71 amp. and use a prs p-90 or a gibson jimmy page custom auth. les paul

Reliability : 10

It6's easy 2 knobs intensity and reverb

Sound Quality : 10
I have had amp guru Bob Konopka put an effects/send input jack (in stereo so I only need a stereo jack) in my 1975 Marshall JMP Master Volume 100 watt tube head. Best sounding reverb in any Marshall I have heard. No hiss or noise floor AT ALL because the weffect/send was inserted after the preamp and before the Power amp section of the marshall. Every person who has heard says the same thing. Best sounding Marshall they have heard. The Premier reverb takes the "Blat" out of a marshall head. I also use this reverb for my mellotrons and synths when recording. Airy, quite and pleasing to the ear

Reliability : 10
changed the tubes 6 years ago and have not had 1 problem with the unit! Also the drive you get from having the intensity up works very well well with the marshall is quite responsive to the volume on my PRS McCartey

don't know-never has broken down in the last 8 years I have owned it

Rock, Jazz, Mellotron spacey music. Musicscape type of compositions. A great reverb!! Would put it against any other Reverb tabk made

Like everyone else has said...2 knobs. Intensity and volume. Very straightforward.

Sound Quality : 9
When the volume is cranked there is a bit of buzz produced. It does not make it significantly louder, but it does drive the amp a bit harder and makes it easier to get a little bit of dirt. (I use it primarily with a 1960 Ampeg Jet.)

It is also buzzy if the reverb is cranked beyond 8. At this point the reverb is so out of hand that it is all but unuseable for me. It sounds cool but the spaced out echo canyon thing is not my deal. But for more subtle applications it is really ace.

Never used any other outboard reverb so I don't know how it stacks up against a Gibson or Fender unit, but it beats the hell out of chips and transistors.

Reliability : No Opinion
It is a fairly flimsy box. It weighs next-to-nothing. Replaced the tubes when I got it it has worked fine for me ever since.

I use it at home in the studio. For gigs I might consider a Grail or similar pedal.

I might update the power cord. That might make it a little quieter.

Premier/Multivox is long gone.

Overall Rating : 9
I love this little rig. Loads of personality. I would echo the guy who said the cords were a pain in the ass. This is true. They are a tagled mess and were not designed well.
For what they are you can't beat 'em. Well worth the price I paid for mine. If I could get one for under 200.00 again I would do it.

Two knobs; one volume, one reverb intensity. Two jacks; one instrument, one microphone. The microphone jack is a little hotter. One foot switch. No ten here because the chords are all a bit tangle happy.

Sound Quality : 9
I use this in front of a '58 magnatone 260 with an old tele and a strat. The only reason i didnt give it a ten is because premiers take away a tiny bit of clarity. The reverb can go from subtle to crazy. And it all depends on what pickups you have. P-90s tend to drive the reverb more. The volume knob raises the gain just a little bit. I really need the extra gain with my magnatone. I recently played the Magnatone + premier setup with a 335 with humuckers and was getting some Hollywood Fats tones. Killer!

no real test of it yet.

I play mostly blues and swing and this is the perfect addition to my sound. Now that I have it I can't imagine not having it. Its about half the price of an origional Fender reverb and i think sounds better. I can live with its quirks (some hum, tangled chords, rattles in the car,)because none them matter once you play it. The main reason to get this over a fender reverb is because it drives your amp. With these old tube amps that you have to turn them up alot to get any break up. The premier really helps with that. Plus whats not to love about a hand wired, point to point, made in the sixties anything? If you see one, buy it. Period.

Very easy to use. Only 2 knobs. One controls the amount of reverb, while the other controls the level of your guitar signal. Couldn't get much easier than that.

Sound Quality : 10
I use this in front of a 53' Fender Tweed Pro, with a few effects like Tremelo and Analog Delay in front of it. The sound is perfect. I currently own a Fender 63 reverb unit (re-issue), which is great, but it doesn't come close to this at all. The premier 90 has a very soupy, warm tone which affects your signal in a good way. Sounds like all those pschyedellic records you heard from the 60's. I also love it because you can use the instrument mix knob as a preamp of sorts - it will basically make your signal nice and hot, which drives the tubes in your tube amp even more, which really sweetens up the signal.

For the money, you can't beat em. They're usually well cheaper than Fender Reverbs - both the originals and the reissues.

Reliability : 8
It's a little fragille for sure. I opened it up, and it's definitely not as hearty and strong as my Fender reverb. The wood is very thin too, but it shouldn't be a problem as long as you don't throw it around.

Premier is long gone.

Love it. If you want a nice, warm, lush reverb, then get one of these. It will bring the life out of your tube amp for sure.

Very easy to use. This unit gets a great sound, maybe not as good as a Fender reverb but it comes at a fraction of the cost of a Fender.

Sound Quality : 8
I use this reverb unit with a Les Paul, a Stratocaster with Joe Barden pickups, an ES335, and a Danelectro U2 into a Chandler Tube Driver, Vox wah, and a Danelectro Rocky Road. My amp is a 1968 Fender Super Reverb. The Premier 90 is rather noisy but the sound that I get out of it makes the noise problem a non-issue. When turned up, the Premier adds gain to my tone which I don't mind at all.

Reliability : 3
I bought my Premier for $40 in a junk shop and it wasn't working. I spent about $75 to get it going again but it has subsequently crapped out. I am going to have it fixed but I wouldn't gig with it unless I had a backup. I usually rely on the reverb in my Super and only use the Premier for tonal variety. As I said, when you turn it up, the gain that it adds is a nice departure from my regular sound.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 6
I play blues and jazz and for blues or other roots music the Premier is a nice effect at a fraction of the price that you would have to pay for a Fender reverb. I bet a harp would sound good through one of these. I have been playing for twenty four years and I probably wouldn't buy one of these again unless I stumbled upon one for the right price. I love the tone and the gain produced by the Premier 90 but could live without its excess noise and overall fragility. It can be a great addition to a players' set up but can't be relied upon.

Very Easy to use, two knobs, any idiot can use it.

Sound Quality : 8
The Reverb sounds great. It can range from very subtle to full blown echo chaimber so you can surf away. I play straight forward rock and roll and it works fine for my puroposes. I only have one problem with mine, it is too darn noisy. I guess that's how it goes with vintage gear. It looks like someone years ago converted it to a 3 prong AC plug, but it still hums. I haven't changed the caps or tubes yet, but I plan on doing so soon If I can clean up the noise I will be 100%happy, especially for the money, gotta love ebay. I use it with a 59 bassman re-issue. The guy I bought it from said he used it in the studio with the Smithereens, but they used it on bass guitar, go figure. Oh, the output is a little hot too, it tends to boost your signal, but that's ok.

Reliability : 8
No problems yet, but I've only had it 6 months or so. The whole thing is rather cheaply built. The housing is cheap, and it doesn't look like it would be a joy to work on. I don't think it would hold up to heavy road use. I'm sure replacement parts are hard to find too.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Ha. As far as I know the company was based in NYC, but they went out of business years ago.

Overall Rating : 9
Hey It's a great outboard reverb, If you want outboard Reverb and don't want to spend the $350 Plus for a Fender, go for it. I would recommend it most definately.
