Scotty did a fine job of adding his own spice and flavor to the ColorSound/SolaSound Power Boost sound. It is very easy to set this pedal up for a nice warm and liquid "clean" boost. Gain, Treble, Bass, and Level knobs. The Gain control is a bit different that what most people would expect. You turn it up, and it will get fuzzy. But it is more like the gain control on a mixing board. It appears that the gain is the actual overdriving of the transistors. I would put Ease rating at 10, but I think that new users of this type of boost would need some time to get it dialed just right.
If gear was completely easy to use then they would not be as versatile now would they?

What can I say about the sound? It is warm, milky, and liquid. Probably the best clean boost I have ever used. It does color your sound, but in a very musical and positive way. It will make a good sounding rig sound even better. Some serious Mojo went into this pedal, and I think you would be hard pressed in finding a better sounding power boost.
It does get slightly microphonic at full gain, but really I don't know many people who would set the gain all the way to 10 on this beauty. It fuzzes up and gets a great gritty sound in the highest quarter turn.

It is built into a solid box. The parts inside are firmly placed. I think this thing will last a good, long time.

Scotty is one of the best minds in the industry. He is dedicated, opinionated, and one of those no BS kinda guys. I appreciate that so much. He actually told me where to buy my Power Drive. And knew the unit they had. Components and all.
I was taken back by his honesty and it was great talking to him. I am sure that if anything happens to my pedal he'll take care of me.

I've been playing for many years. Professionally, on the side, in the studio, as a session player, etc. I have used so many pieces of gear that I know what is going to stay on my pedalboard and in my studio.
This pedal is one that I am going to keep for a long time.
I have never heard a more liquid clean boost. Ever. It's not completely transparent, but that does not matter since it improves the tone of your signal. And that, my friends, is why we use what we use.
