Use this in front of a Crate Stealth all tube amp, which was designed by Lee Jackson, its a real Dark horse of an amp, but really what kicks it in to gear is the Body Rot. The amp had a great sound, but not quite enough gain for my liking and it is geared more for the late 80's early 90's metal sound, so I put the Body Rot II in front of the Clean Channel and whoooaaaa, There is the sound I have been looking for , play with the tone controls and it goes from full on screaming metal to big mid range. its actually a pretty damn quiet pedal, the drive channel on the amp had more noise than the pedal, so much so that I have dropped my Boss noise suppressor from my Rig. Now this pedal also picks out the pinch harmonics like you've got active pickups, even though I don't.

As with all the Protone pedals, built like a tank and protone will always bend over backwards to make sure you are happy. Great company.

This is a metal lovers perfect pedal, sounds amazing, and I am pretty damn picky, been looking for that perfect sound for years, tried numerous amps and pedals, and I tell you this thing is a keeper. I use it with Bernie Rico Jr guitars, a vixen and a jeckyl, and a Lee Jackson designed all tube Crate Stealth amp.

Extremely easy, no manual but you really don't need one. Control labeling makes sense.

Sound is BRUTAL! It's really raw and nasty, which is exactly what I look for. The Shape control allows you to sweep from a warmer tone at the full counter clock position to a nice sizzle, similar to moving a microphone on/off axis. The amount of distortion you can get out of it is huge, I'm using a bunch of pedals into a line mixer and power amp-no amp head-and using the pedals as THE sound, but you could easily put it in front of a cleaner amp and kick in in at a modest Drive setting to dirty it up...or crank the Drive and go for total devastation.
The only reason I didn't give it a 10 in sound quality is I wouldn't consider ANY high gain distortion "Pristine" although it is very defined even at extreme settings. And I LOVE what it does to pinch harmonics.

Sturdy and bulletproof...the stomp switch is super solid, you know when you've engaged it, not only by the bright LED but by the click you feel under foot. No pop or clicks in the audio side of things at all. I was playing it through my DAW and when I turned it on there was no spike in the track fader's input meter, just a slight rise in background noise typical of any gain/dist box. The raw (there's that word again) look of the box is right up my alley. I would absolutely trust this pedal live sans backup. SOLID!

I've spoken to Dennis via email and on the phone and he's cool as hell. Nice guy, pedal arrived before he said I'd have it. His email responses are immediate.

My band, "voodooNOUVEAU", is a guitar driven "Synth Punk" outfit and this pedal suits me perfectly. I've been playing for 24 years and with my road experience I proudly add this pedal to my arsenal of Tech21, Metasonix and Morley boxes. I see myself leaning on the Body Rot II often. I love everything about this unit. I did a "shoot out" with the BRII after I received it and it's meaner sounding than the others...more focus and balls. It's a mystery to me how Dennis makes these by hand with quality point to point soldering (yes I opened it up and also found mini trim pots inside!) and sells them for the price he does...amazing value. My next purchases from him will be the Hustler Fuzz and a Fastlane switching box...I'm also eyeballing the El Diablo Wah.
