It has 1 knob to turn and 1 button to push with you foot, or hand. No Manual? What! HaHa. If U can't turn it on, send it back.

"I'm going to be as forthcoming as I can be Mr. Anderson." -Agent S.
The Springfield has a True Bypass so it is silent And transparent when not in use, and nearly as quiet when its on unless U have it maxed out. I have the Springfield first in line, as it is my heavy bat for distortion, fuzz, & or overdrive.
It sounds Great! Using a battery or my 1Spot it is super low noise and from 0 to 5/6 it gives U an Excellent, Thick, Dark Fuzz! Going from about 6 up to 10, it seems to me that your volume increases without adding a ton more gain to the overall sound.
PLUS it cleans up Outstandingly & can go all the way back down to a clean & glassy sound as far as U back off of your volume.
Its hard to describe exactly the pedals operation, as the Springfield has only 1 knob. For example if its midnight and I want to play without head phones, I can run my semi-hollow through this pedal and into the Fender and use the pedal's 1 knob as a master volume and it will still give U a Fat Fuzzy Tone that stays quietly consistant, and it will remain as U turn up the knob to around 6-ish.
To Me it does not sound shrill OR transistor-ish as many other fuzz/distortion pedals do. Even a Boss DS-1, Super OD, FZ-3, Ibanez TS-5, (all of which I have owned and gone through) seem to restrict your sound when compared to The Springfield. This is a simple pedal can produce a very Thick & Organic Tone for you, IF used Properly.

Seems very well built, and I have used it B4 without a back up.

Ok. I play hollows & semi-hollow bodies through old Fenders - a 66 Bassman & a 68 Bandmaster. I only use 2-3 other effects. Reverb, Chorus/Vibrato, & a Boost for volume. This is what I have been wanting 4 a Long Time! Dennis makes boutique like pedals at incredible reasonable prices! This is an analog Fuzz that sounds very Vintage and very Warm. It has Great Build Quality and is more about the Sounds than the looks!
Keep in mind, it has only The 1 Knob. So many players who are used to their 3 knob pedals (or more) may find it hard to get some of the Excellent sounds that are in the Springfield Fuzz.
After several monthes I'm still searching for the perfect approach to the pedal for my purposes, but this pedal is a Great Value and offers a Great Potential as Dennis is now starting to produce a wider range of products.
If U are tired off the cheap crap & the Way overpriced boutique stuff, check out the Pro Tone Pedals. I'm already planning a second purchase now.
