Excellent distortion. I can get sounds from Cream to Iron Maiden to Sabbath and way beyond that. That's only on the first channel setting. It has 2 more channels after that so I'm sure you'll find what you like. Light distortion to very, very heavy. Sounds great with my Fender tube amp. Awesome.

Dependable so far. Only pedal I bring. Has a strong metal housing like a rat pedal.

Haven't needed to deal with the company yet. They make the Rat pedal and those have a good reputation.

I play Classic rock and 80's metal. Perfect fit for me. My favorite distortion pedal after 20+ years. It's analog so it doesn't suck down your power like a digitech processor. $99 on amazon. I was a little hesitant about spending that much on a distortion pedal but I'm glad I did. Well worth it.

My favorite artist are, Scofield, Santana, Petrucci, Page, Gilmour and Hakett. My setup: Stratocaster 57 vintage, fender blues junior and various pedals. The SOLO is one of the best distortion box that I haved try, best the muffs and boss pedals, this sound like my White face rat and also more modern. This is the distortion that I need.

Three weeks ago I couldn't buy this pedal in the U.S.A., so I got it from Song Bird Music in Toronto, Canada. (http://www.songbirdmusic.com/ , 1-888-733-4777.)
It cost $160.00 Canadian/$141.00 American. UPS ground delivery.

Guitars: Eric Johnson Stratocaster(s).
Amplifiers: Traynor 50/BLUE-50 watt/12 inch-all tube with YCX12/BLUE 40 watt/12 inch extension cabinet, Traynor 80q-80 watt/4x10-all tube.
Power: Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 Plus.
Effects: 6 Fulltone effects, MXR M-108 Ten Band Graphic EQ, 3 Pro Co Rats, ISP Technologies Decimator, Digitech GNX3000.
The Solo is three distortion/fuzz pedals in one.
Each (switchable) selection has more deep, full, intense, massive, and powerful lows, mids, and highs then my Rat 2 and You Dirty Rat. It's just as transparent as my R2 and YDR. The Scoop knob makes it more flexible then my R2 and YDR. No noise at all powered by a Voodoo Lab PP2P.

It's been reliable for three weeks. If it fails I'll use another pedal.

I've played African American Gospel music, C&W, R&B, and R&R for 27 years. The Solo's different from the R2 and YDR: it has much more potential. It's best used in more imaginative and "unconventional" ways, then just copping another guitarists' sound.
