Ok, it has the controls 'DRY', 'Level' and 'DIST'. I still don't know what 'DIST' is meant to do because I have no manual and I can't hear too much of a difference either way.'DRY' Seems to work as a tone control, but I am not sure.

It sounds ok, cuts out on some notes, not very loud.

Reliability : 7

Yes, it is reliable I guess, although the plastic case looks shonky.

Makes distortion sound beefy. The BOSS octavers I have tried have all sounded pretty bad, so I guess this is alright.
