Oh yeah, I like it all right!!!!
I had to get a little creative on the pedal board to fit it in, but I put it right after my G2D Custom OD just before the amp input. I have the knob up to about 2 o'clock. It does a great job of adding some snap and a touch of dirt to the clean tone, and it makes both channels of the OD wail nicely. Cords have just enough break up in them to sound very bluesy. The Bad Bob is EXTREMELY transparent- I could detect almost NO change in the tonal qualities of my rig with it on- the nice open sound of my clean channel was preserved perfectly. It just broke up a little. I have not found this level of transparency in any other pedal I've tried.

It's built like a tank and is made from high quality components. The footswitch has a nice solid SNAP to it, and the knob is smooth as silk and has no play, the finish is smooth and the lettering and logo has a cool retro look to it. The jacks are first rate, too. Nice SNAP to them as the plug hits home. I've only had it out twice so far, but I can't see where it's gonna give me any problems.

Robbie is one of the nicest and most responsive guys I've ever dealt with. He's just breaking into the business, and he deserves all the support we can give him. Heck, he even enclosed a personally signed letter in the box....

Overall, this unit does exactly what I hoped it would- push the amp into a little dirt at lower volumes without having to use the OD, which, while I love it, wasn't exactly what I wanted for my clean sound. I play blues/rock, and I'm using a slightly mod'd Peavey Classic 30. Been playing for 30 years.
Overall, I'd give it a 9. It'd be a perfect 10, except the location of the DC plug (next to and aft of the output jack on the left side) is a pain. That's ok, according to Robbie it draws next to nothing, and I was able to leave enough room on the right side of it to allow me to pop the plug out far enough to keep the battery drain down.

it's an extreamly easy pedal to use. One knob on the pedal, the rest you can control with your guitar's volume knob.

I'm using a parts-o-caster thinline, into a 66 deluxe reverb. The Bad Bob is dead quiet, and thanks to a true bypass switch, it stays noisless even when not engaged. This pedal gives a clean boost, with just a bit of "vox" type hair when your guitar is cranked. It makes for a great clean boost, and allows for a really cool light overdrive sound. For any type of roots music (i.e. country, blues, rockabilly, etc) it fattens up amp and gutiar sound without coloring the tone.

the quality on the Bad Bob is awesome. The box is small and solid. The inner wiring and manufacturing is top notch. I've been using it for several months (on almost all the time) with no bad expierences. If it was stolen, I'd get a new one as soon as possible.

Here's what sold me: the quality , and the price. The pedal covers the same general territory and the SHO, and Fulltone Fatboost, and others, but for about half the price. As far less expensive boost pedals, like the MXR Micro-Amp, the tone, LED, and tru-bypass, made the Bad Bob a far superior pedal. I replaced a vintage Micro-Amp with the Bad Bob, and I'm not looking back. When Fulltone added the tone knob to the new Fat-Boost, it made the decision easy for me. I prefer the one knob pedal of the Bad Bob.

This is the best boost pedal I've ever used. Its very quiet and extremely transparent. If you like your tone and want more of it, this is the pedal for you. Much better than my fulltone fatboost. Don't get me wrong. Mike makes some great pedals, and I really like my fulldrive, but the bad bob is clearly superior to the fulltone fatboost, and a lot less money.

The best boost that I've ever used. Hands down. It's very quiet. It accurately boosts the sound of your guitar. Once again, it's a garbage in garbage out kind of thing. If your setup sounds good this pedal WILL sound good.
This pedal is Perfect for pushing the front end of a tube amp into a little dirt. It's truly a beautiful thing.:) It will make you wonder why anybody is spending that king of money on a Klon when this is out there.

I actually wanted to comment on my previous review.
I use the Bad Bob running into a Goodrich 6A Super Sustain Matchbox for my clean neck position boost. The matchbox is made for pedal steel to give the amp a good swift kick without overdrive.
Both of these pedals together make an incredibly warm fat neck position clean tone. It is absolutely the warmest tone I have ever had after 35+ years of playing. No other combination gave me the headroom to accomidate my neck pickup so well. Everything else with this much gain added some degree of grit when I wanted the fat neck position tone.
I wanted clean, pure & fat.
When I got this box a big weight was lifted off my chest.
I had tried a couple grand worth of boxes just searching... (thank god for Ebay so I could unload them all!)
I just can't say enough good things about this pedal.
After paying money grubbing Swines a freakin fortune for "the be all end all of stompers" it's a big treat to actually get something that not only performs as advertised ... you actually feel you've gotten a GOOD deal when you plug this thing in so it warms you heart as well as your tone.
Good deal or not it's all about feel & tone quality ... nothing does it better for me in this catagory at any price.

I'm running into an Old magnatone 460.
I use handwound Lollar Pickups & old DeArmond single coils for the most part although I've played pretty much everything.
I wanted something to give my neck position pickup a clean boost with no mud.
I used to play the Barden Gatton Tele pickups but it's sound was a bit cold...great neck pickup though!
This thing along with a (just can't say)are my secret weapon for fat fat fat neck tone. My neck PU is like a P-90 but slightly underwound for less mud. I also play heavier guage Flatwounds.
My strings are fat in themselves & this thing has the headroom to handle them. Not boomy or muddy & what distortion it might add is very musical, crisp, & clear.
All I can say is wow.

I'm a 35+ year pro blues veteran. In my humble opinion you cannot find a better boost at any price. I've been through the mill. Do yourself a favor ... don't wast your time or money shopping around.
Try this pedal for a good fat boost.
You'll be VERY glad you did.
Best of luck in all you do Robbie.
Thanks!!

ive used it in the studio guitar->amp and WOW what a huge tone, very quiet, and EXTREMELY transparent.....also used it with my acoustic/electric and it fattened that up nicely, had to turn the DI way down......used it in my regular stage rig LAST in the signal change and it didnt alter the tone one bit, just made it L O U D E R...tons of rich harmonics ringin thru...into the front end of Mesa/Boogie Mark IV,right after analogman Ts-9 silver&Ts-5(w/808 mod) and Fulltone Dist Pro...i use very high output pickups,so i am CONSTANTLY looking for effects that can handle the signal without squeezing the life out of my tone.. and the bad bob doesnt flinch one bit

Yeehah! I play Teles and Strats through a '68 Pro Reverb, a '66 Super Reverb, and A Blues Jr. Other pedals I use are Route 66 (just the compressor), AnalogMan Boss SD-1, original TS9, modded TS10, Reverand Drivetrain II, Dan Echo, and Boss Noise Supressor. This thing is totally transparent with all. With the Pro Reverb, I still use an OD for more drive, but with the Super and the Junior the Bad Bob is all I need. And quiet. It does what the fat switch on newer Fenders should do.

I play roots rock, rockabilly, country, and blues. It works great with different amps. It can give you a clean boost that does't color your tone with higher wattage amps, and make smaller amps scream. Best $99 I ever spent on a pedal. And I agree with a previous post. Get it now because at that price it's a steal.

I use and Anderson Hollow T and a custom built Renegade amp (El34, 2x10 combo)and I have quite an extensive pedal board. This pedal sounds quiet even turned all the way up, And I feel that by itself, straight into an amp, you could play any blues gig, anywhere. I think KWS needs to play this as his main pedal cause it blows my TS808 away. I love how it takes my clean sounds and adds a little sparkle to them especially using single coils. It is also great for kicking your overdrive sounds into incredible sustain which seems to end up in awesome controlled feedback depending on the level. This is the most awesome boost. My GE7 EQ pedal did ok but now that I've heard the Bad Bob I'll never go back. No comparison

The casing for the Bad Bob is very heavy guage metal and the circuitry is a work of art. I especially love the LED. It is big enough to let you know that it's still on. I couldn't see why you would ever need a backup for this unit.

I play a bit of everything as I have to be able to cover many different styles at my church where I play. I have been playing about 20 years and have been through a ton of equipment over that span of time. This is one pedal I will have forever! I haven't used it live yet but I can pretty well guess that it will scare the "Blue Hairs" out of there preverbial pews at chuch, and all my guitar buds at chruch will be diggin it's tone. I can't wait till Robbie starts makeing other pedals. You can bet that they will be worth the investment.

I use a Tom Anderson Drop Top (H/S/S) and a Gibson Les Paul Classic through either a Blues Jr. practice amp or a custom designed head from Renegade Amplification (out on HC).
This pedal is exceptionally quiet considering it can boost your signal up to 25db through it's dual Jfet design (ala Jack Orman).
I have used a Boss GE-7 for over 7 years as my boost pedal because I could not find the simple design and exceptional clarity in other boost pedals. I didn't want a treble booster, didn't want a tone control or a bunch of other bells and whistles on my boost pedal. When Legendary Tones offered the Time Machine Boost I inquired with Robert Keeley about the Modern boost it had in it and it's design is a dual Jfet providing up to 25db of pure, unadulterated volume boost. I thought cool, maybe I can get them to build me a custom pedal in an MXR Phase 90 box - no luck and the price was more than I wanted to pay, plus I could not afford the TMB.
I happened on to a discussion forum where a couple of guys had mentioned a new booster to the market, so I wrote the maker telling him what I was looking for. Agreed on a price and the color I wanted (only his first 10 will be colored so the first 10 owners pedals are recognized as the guys giving him a shot into the marketplace) and sent him the money.
My particular unit is #9 and was made on 4/4/03. When I received the pedal last week I immediately took it to my local guitar shop to plug in and the results were incredible. It is pure volume and the only grit I could muster out of it happened around 2:00 o'clock and that is walloping the tubes with an incredible amount of input, so they give in a break up too. Exactly what I wanted.
Then I took it home to run through my elaborate pedalboard setup and placed it immediately after my drives and was blown away with the results. My tone did not change, but the added tube breakup and volume sent me into boost nirvana. This is a keeper for me and it is clean, quiet, beautiful, and bold!

Very well built, the wire design is clean and crisp, the solder connections are excellent. The only design issue I may have is that the input power jack is next to the output jack much like the Keeley compressor if you've ever seen one. This can be a pain to get power to as the boss daisy chain does not have enough cable to stretch that far, but my One Spot power cable has more than enough, plus the power connections are at right angles to save even more space. Excellent metal enclosure and the paint is a transparent candy apple red with a bright blue LED. The battery will last forever as it is only powering a very efficitent LED. Great construction!

Robbie Wallace (Bad Bob) ranks right up there with Robert Keeley in my opinion. He is a tone and gear freak and is very helpful and knowledgeable about what his pedal can and cannot provide. His description was 100% dead on. He emails replies quickly and bends over backwards to satisfy his cutomers desires.

This pedal is a definite winner for clean boosts, I'm done looking, trying other things out. I can't imagine another booster for me - EVER! He should and probably will start charging more for future pedals, so that's why I didn't list how much I paid, but I can guarantee after #10 he is going to bump his prices, he has a great product that rivals all of the boutique builders out there. If you are looking for strictly a clean volume boost, check him out. The footprint is perfect, the construction is impeccable, and the customer service is awesome. A winning combination, I have already sold another unit for Robbie to a friend of mine here in Bloomington, Illinois - and he's actually getting #4 since his transparent blue ones were built earlier than his red ones. The true bypass feature of this makes it placeable pretty much anywhere in your effects chain as a boost so try it and find the place that works best for you. Can't say enough good things about this one...check it out. Email me and I can try to provide more info as I have for many others about other pedals I have discovered and kept. Take care and ROCK ON!
