This is one of the quietest wahs I ever used & it doesn't suck tone when off at all at all at all! when the unit is off it acts as a volume pedal & it works like a dream, although I found that the sweep on mine is not too even, in other words 3/4 way heel down is when it is silent.
The wah is fat & it doesn't lose any volume when activated, actually it simulates a boost because the toe down position is bright but not harsh like some crybaby's Ive tried but bright enough to do the voodoo chile scream, I was sold on the Ibanez WH10 & still am, I thought it was the best but I couldn't get the voodoo chile sound out of it.
The Rockman unit nails it & is way quieter than the Ibanez WH10, & it does what the Ibanez can't. The rockman isn't as cool in the heel down position as the WH10 where the Ibanez stays defined, fat, & thick in the heel down. Over all it is a great wah for what it does!

I don't think so! I don't think Dunlop supports Rockman products unless it is still in production like the headphone amps they still sell.

Me being an experienced guitarist at the time had the ability to bring it home, crank up the volume and just jam. No instructions needed.

I use a Fender Strat and a Squier practice amp. I used to use the built in distortion but recently purchased a Boss mega distortion pedal. Although the distortion is much better with the pedal, when combined with the wah it sounds terrible. It's much better soiunding with the built in distortion.

I'm a very Papa Roach kinda guitarist i like the hard bassy tone, but like the sound of a wah put in every once in a while. I like it a lot and it will always be a part of my setup.

Like other WAH's...plug it in and rock back and forth. WHat else do you want from a WAH? Breakfast in bed? When WAH is off it's a volume pedal. Very excellent volume pedal.Only reason I gave it a 9 is that the transition from WAH to Vol takes a little getting used to cuase you have a tendency to roll off the pedal when effect is turned off dropping volume. But easy to overcome.

Cant get any better sound compared to no WAH in the loop. There is NO difference in sound quality. Probably due to the optic sensor instead of an analog pot. Unlike regular WAH's with analogs that get a duller sound when effect is shut off. I use this after my Ibanez RG550 then into a ZOOM 9002 then into a Peavey bandit 112 @ 80W.

This thing is built solid. Metal not too heavey but can withstand constant standing on it since for some reason when I have a WAH or VOL pedal I cant seem to keep from being right there just in case of improvision during a song.

Can't complain at all. I use it for all types of styles. Metallica, Ian Moore, REO Speedwagon, Candlebox, ect... I'd deffinatly recommend it to others and certain to buy another if it somehow dissapear. But since Dunlop just recently bought out Rockman their not going to continue this product so it will be hard to replace in the future. This is what I heard from 2 different well respected music stores but I have yet to call them to confirm this info. So don't take my word for it on that.

It's a wah pedal - 'nuff said. When the wah is activated it operates in the traditional manner. When off, the unit acts as a volume pedal. No manual is included, but none is required.

This is an optical design wah/volume pedal; as such it is very clean and quiet during operation. In addition, it is very transparent when turned off - I have not noticed any degradation in tone. Performance wise, this pedal has a wider sweep than a Dunlop, Vox, or Morley (not including the Bad Horsie) - transition across low to high frequency is very smooth and clear. Rolled off you get a nice round "woman" tone, and full open you can get some screaming blues skank. I haven't tried it but putting an overdrive/distortion pedal in front of this unit would likely produce some wild results. I have this unit immediately following my guitar through a Boss GT-5 and Peavey 5150 and it sounds great. The volume control is also very smooth and clean - no scratchy pots here.

I just started using it, so I can't comment on long term reliability. However, it seems to be built very ruggedly and appears to be more sturdy than the Morley units I've tried. It has very sleek, low profile design and would easily fit into any pedal board scheme. The good news is that, because it utilizes an optical vs. analog pot, it won't be subject to the scratchiness or dropouts typical of traditional designs. The downside, of course, is that you can easily replace the old pot in a Dunlop or Vox - good luck with the Rockman or Morley.

I haven't had the opportunity to deal with Dunlop/Rockman with the exception of an e-mail looking for local dealers - they only replied after the second try. Other than that, no experience.

For rock/prog/blues it works exactly as expected for an optical wah - very clean, smooth sweep in wah and volume mode. More importantly, it doesn't suck tone. The price is also very competitive. I also tried various Dunlops and Morleys; I found the Morley Pro Wah to have a fairly anemic quality to it - very wimpy sweep and tone. The Dunlop 535 is excellent, but I didn't want to have to put up with scratchy pots, and I also wanted a wider, more aggressive sweep. Morley's Bad Horsey has probably the widest sweep available (Vai's a madman), but its design has the pedal spring loaded so it automatically sits up when you take your foot off - I like to leave the wah in a notched position and play so this didn't work for me. The Rockman addressed all of these issues. I would definitely buy it again.
