Ease of Use : No Opinion
I also own an XPR and think all the hype about the XPRa is over done. The XPRa is more quite but that's simpley because it has less distortion gain and less compression i.e. LESS BALLS. I prefer to use a standard XPR with a noise gate. It kicks more ass.

Here it is right from Bob Cedro to me:

"Looking at my old notes regarding the REV "a" changes, we made a 4.8dB decreased in the distortion "pre gain" structure, which would result in a minimally, yet slightly noticeable gain difference. However, there were also changes in the "post distortion" gain levels to compensate for perceived volume level changes from the previously described change. To add to the confusion, there was also "compressor gain" changes implemented to contribute to the reduction of the noise floor..."

Best regards,
Bob Cedro
