Easy to use... only two knobs to turn.

Sound Quality : 1
Although you can hear what sounds like the unit reducing noise while adjusting the knobs when you are not playing, as soon as you play anything, you can hear the stupid thing sucking tone... and, when I finally couln't stand it any more and pulled the cords out of it, I realized I actually had less hum and hiss whith it out of my signal chain completely. Thank goodness M.F. has a great return policy.

Reliability : No Opinion
No idea, I wouldn't gig with it even if I knew it was never going to fail.

Tried it with several vastly different guitars and amp combinations and did not find a reason to not hate it

Simple as anything to use, one knob, one on/off switch.

Sound Quality : 1
It totally ruins the tone. Stay well away from this pedal!
I use Ibanez Universe ->Hush-> ENGL powerball and although it does cut out the noise even at the lowest setting it completely ruins the tone. It sounds good for playing lots of fast muted chords (although with an entirely different tone to what I get with the unit turned off), but any speed picking passages turn into mud.
It's attrocious, I wish I had never bought it, and I trust Rocktron.

Reliability : 10
Sturdy as hell.

Don't know, havent used it

Overall Rating : 1
It cuts out noise AND tone, stay well away.
It might be good for some styles, but not for me.

Super easy to use, it's pretty much a no-brainer. Well duh!, there's only two knobs and a button.

Sound Quality : 6
I use an Ibanez Rg 7 string with really hot dimarzio's(not sure what model pickups exactly) and a Rivera m12o head(kiler amp) I really like this unit but I was disapointed with the hush when I got it. It wasn't what I've always geard it was. The hush works ok, but if you turn it up past 1/3 of the way it magerly sucks your tone, pretty bad.
but in a small, small dose it's kinda cool. Not at all like the rocktron HUSH pedle witch rocks!!! The noise Gate on this thing is REMARKABLE!!! THE BEST gate i've ever used. as subtle or sensitive as you want it! but i'm giving it a 6 cause the HUSH really isn't very good

Reliability : 10
I have had absolutly no problems. Rocktron is the Best Man, built like tanks!

This thing rocks, but it isn't what it's supposed to be, witch is a HUSH. But the Noise Gate is Perfect

It doesn't change your sound AT ALL!!!!

Ease of Use : 9
ITS NOT A HARD UNIT TO USE. ITS ALL STRAIGHT FORWARD AND TO THE POINT. KEEP THRESHOLD AT MINIMUM AND NOISE GATE AT MAX...THATS THE KEY. ONE PROBLEM YOU NEED A KEEN EYE ANSD KEEN HAND BECAUSE THE SLIGHTEST MISPLACEMENT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CLEAN SOLO AND BEING PUT IN A BOX. IF IT WASNT FOR CAREFUL TWEAKIGN ITLL BE A 10.

Sound Quality : 9
it killed all the hum and hissing from my amp. it was perfect. my distortion hasnt sounded so clean. yet again ill give it a 9 in this. well its more a 9.9 ......its great. the only issue is that if the threshold and noise gate arent balanced right itll kill your notes too early, leaving you stranded. this happens if you tweak it in front of the amp. i recommend tweaking it away from the amp or behind it because it is designed to kill noises and if you are right in front of the damn thing, youll need extensive and improper tweaking. in clean sounds itll deaden it faster only if you dont tweak it right. so consider distance. this is made for a stage use not your living room, so when you crank it itll make miracles from a distance.

i recommend it in the fx loop because if the chain is guitar to hush to amp, you willonly clean the guitar not the amp sound in total. it will improve your overall sound, making it hiss free and clean. it doesnt colro your sound if you know hwo to use it. if you are a beginner and you dont have anyone to show you how to use it, find someone. only mediocre musicians say this thing sux entirely because they are doin it wrong.

Reliability : 10
i cant imagine a clean soudn without it. it has to be in my rig. i amp planning on getitng a backup in case. if you dare try to steal it, i am willing to sacrifice my POD (read my POd 2.0 review and i dont use it anymroe ) and launch at you just to i can hog tie you. afterwards id kick you senseless for making me run.I HATE TO RUN.it makes me sweat.

Customer Support : No Opinion
havent needed any so far so i cant say anything on this yet. god forbid that thier (stated above) drops it. then ill have to get pissed and make him/her/it call customer support for me and stay on hold for long hours while strapped to a chair.

Overall Rating : 10
this is a great unit overall. i cant use my amp without it. just prestine sound and doesnt kill your tone. the key is to know how to use it. its like driving a car. if you know how to drive well, you can be andretti but if you are a 16 year old girl just getting her restricted, watch out. once you find your sweet spot, its heaven. the setting may vary by amp. one amp is dirtier than the other, all pickups ommit different, and the space you have due to acoustics are conditions for differences. play around with it and you will sound professional.

i say every guitarist and bassist should have this unit. consider it a piece of your amp. you cant play without it

2 Knobs and 2 switchs. Can't get much easier than that. Manual is confusing unless you know the termnology, but once understood it make the use of it so much easier

Sound Quality : 10
I purchased the hush C for one purpose, no nosiy. I did its job with little effect to my tone. I've been playing through a Mesa boogie dual recto with a NS-2 from boss, I never had any feedback from the NS-2 and thats no damn fun. My guitar (LTD EC-300) is in perfect condition and has no fuzz but when i run it through a few pedals the dreaded nosiy comes out and now its gone. The amp fuzzes less now with the HUSH C. ALso through my bass setup, i had a fuzz like a digital fuzz coming out of my preamp and now its disappeared with no effect on my tone. Little or no effect on tone if you set it up proably and actualy play with it for more than an hour or so.

Reliability : 10
I've had it for a few days and as long as i do abuse it i feel like i could have it forever. I've never seen too many rocktron effects broken or worn.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them but i've heard reave reviews on their help.

Overall Rating : 10
I play just about any kind of music you could think of for about the past 6 years and if someone stole this i would kill them and try to claim some insurance on it so i could buy another for less setting up between bass and guitar. This product allows me to hear what i play with out fuzz or unwanted nosie while i'm trying to create.
If you have the money buy one because someday you will need it.

This is a very simple effect to use. If you can't tweak two knobs, you should stay far away from anything electronic. The manual is very confusing, and to be honest, pretty worthless. The only thing I found useful was that for most applications (my guitar setup), the REF must be set to -10. This is important because if the REF is set to 4+ it may not work the way you want it to. I'll give it a 9, because there are a few simple things that may be confusing.

Sound Quality : 10
I tested this out with a vintage Epiphone Les Paul w/ Dimarzio Virtual PAFS through a 1970 Fender "Silverface" Vibrolux Reverb. The amp needs new tubes and hiss emmits from it. My guitar has some hum and hiss to it as well. Together, they can be very destracting. It's even more annoying with pedals. I put this rackmount effect up to the test and it didn't let me down.

This is simply a noise reducer/gate, nothing fancy. The HUSH and gate knobs do what they advertise, deliver pure silence while NOT COLORING YOUR TONE! This is THE MOST TRANSPARENT noise gate/reducer around and has been used by countless professional musicians. Don't settle for the other flawed ones out there. MXR and the Boss NS-2 only work for certain styles, they are not flexible and will color your tone, even with extensive tweaking. Don't trust HUSH the Pedal either, it's useless and so is the rackmount original HUSH. The IICX or Super C are the best around.

Reliability : 7
I bought it broken and fixed it myself. After working on the Super C, it seems pretty solidly built. I wouldn't purposely start dropping it on the floor, but it does have a steel exterior (big plus, both cosmetically and reliability wise). My only complaint is that either the circuit board should be surrounded by some padding inside the steel case or fit it a wee bit better, it feels slightly flimsy. However, it still feels like it will last a long time and with it's contribution to my perfect tone, it will get use every single time I pick up the guitar.

Customer Support : 8
The Customer Support was phenomenal. Jim who takes calls on the Super C, was informative, friendly, and really helped me. I needed newer pots (the old ones were a mess) and he sold me two official ones that were made specifically for that effect. He said they don't usually sell them, but the company did have a few left floating around, and after soldering them to the circuit board with my trusty $7 kit, I made out with a perfect product.

These people are understanding and very customer oriented. The only thing better would be to give me replacement pots for free, but very few things are nowadays. Pleasure to deal with!

Overall Rating : 9
I got it for a steal. Bought it on eBay in "as-is" condition; it didn't work so I had to replace a few parts. Rocktron sent me the extra parts I needed, spent 45 min. total (after re-screwing the case and all) and had a very useful and functunional product. I bought it from a very kind seller who sent me $20 to cover my time and the pots. All in all, the total came to ~$80. Considering they retail for $200, I think I made out pretty well.

Sound wise it is everything I have ever wanted out of a noise reducer/gate. It is flawless when used properly. This is essential to anyone with a noisy setup due to high gain or vintage amps, people with single coil guitars (without full on shielding), crazy pedals that aren't true bypass (like the Boss AC-2 Acoustic Simulator, MXR Double Shot dist. pedal, Ibanez TS808 TubeScreamer etc.).

I love everything about this and for my setup, it's a necessity to have silence in between parts of songs. I did my research on these things and I'm glad I didn't settle for a second rate product.

It feels good to know I made the product functional and everytime I use it, I'll know that spending the time and money to fix it myself instead of giving up on it is priceless.

If I didn't have to tweak to get it perfect, it would get a 10. This is, of course, impossible at the moment for these types of effects to do, but when it does happen... it'll get my 10.

THis unit is pretty straight forward as far as operating it goes. The only problem is that the hush threshold doesn't really do as much as its supposed to. But everything else opperates nicly.

Sound Quality : 1
This is where things get bad for the super c. As far as I'm concerned, this is the best unit for the worst players. It does not allow for any volume changes or dymaics in playing what so ever!!! This unit will no allow for any onstage volume tweaks either!!! If you turn down just the slightest bit, the hush will cut off your notes early. If you turn up the slightest bit, the hush will not kick in when it is supposed to. This is absolutly the worst design ever!!!! If you must have a noise gate, i suggest purchasing one that is in pedal form and that can be turned off and on with a click of a foot button. That is a big problem with the super c. It can not be foot switched. This is absolutly the worst piece of equipment that i have ever bought. It DOES NOT do what rocktron says it does. Do not buy it.

Reliability : 10
i guess its dependable....i only had it for a few months b4 i sold the stupid thing so i really dont know.

I can't think of any situation where i would need this unit. In order to use it at all, every channel on your amp must be at the EXACT same volume...which we all know sounds horrible. So if u need a noise gate, get a pedal. DO NOT GET THIS ONE!!!!
feel free to email me with questions.

Super easy. One knob for taking out some hiss, and the other knob for setting the gate. Can be used as just a gate, or just a hiss remover, or both whichever you prefer or need. Manual isn't bad, but I suppose for non-gearheads it could be a little more layman term oriented.

Sound Quality : 9
I use high gain settings 90% of the time with EMG pickups. This unit keeps things under control pretty good without messing up your sound IF you set it right and use it the way it was meant to be used. I have this unit switched out at lower volumes and in for live use...I'll explain below.

Reliability : 9
Seems to be fine, everything I have by Rocktron is totally 100% reliable.

Customer Support : 10
Customer support is top notch in my opinion. I've emailed Rocktron several times about various questions here and there, and they've always responded within 24 hours with the answer I need. These people definitely have their heads together.

Overall Rating : 9
The key to getting the most out of this product is to use it when you really have your rig cranked. It will disappoint you if you're trying to use the gate at low volume levels, as it will cut out your sustain. But the gate isn't really needed at those low volumes! This is for the most part, gear intended for the "pros". Before I got this, I had to have a "dead" patch on my pedalboard to kill the noise between songs. Few things are as annoying as having your rig shrieking at you from across the stage when the singer is trying to announce the next song! This is where this unit shines. Live playing at insane volume levels. My sustain is not affected one bit! Obviously the gate CAN be set so that it will affect it, but set it right for this situation and all is well. If you are standing too close to the speaker cabs, then you would end up setting the gate TOO tight. So set it to work for you when you are far enough away from the cabs to make the difference. This is why I feel that this unit isn't really needed unless you have a big stage and playing really loud. This unit absolutely does what it says it does, but I feel that it is very often misused by players who mean well, but just don't honestly need it for their lower volume situations.

It's the easiest piece of equipment ever! It should have a label in the front- "This is extremely easy to use and only shitheads who don't know what a noise gate should act like should get this amazing product"

Sound Quality : 1
Ha this unit totally fucks up all my sound. The threshold setting are excruciatingly vital in a product like this and unfortunately this product sucks dick at doing its job. When I tried out my Aelioan mode on this bitch (gain to the max on my Hughes and Kettner, plus Metal Zone MT-2) it made it sound like a fuckin detuned piece of shit acoustic guitar with no sound hole plus a crooked neck.

Reliability : 9
It's realiable yes it is. I hate this unit so much i shitted and pissed on it one day and amazinglyu it still worked. But when I ran it over with this fat girl off the street it went to hell.

Customer Support : 10
Didn't have to deal with those assholes except tell them how the fuck they managed to make such a product. I am no engineer but the transistors and plexis in this concept could be worked on my a trained monkey.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
Oh I love this P.O.S. so much! It makes my guitar sound worthless and meek. The tone goes to shit and oh the noise gate works so well all the hiss goes through it like butter on corn. In other words get a fucking Boss or Behringer (only 100 dollars!) which will make this amazingly expensive shitty product look like my dead neighbors grandma Paul!
