IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET ANY THING CLOSE TO A GOOD SOUND OUT OF THIS BOX_O_CRAP! NO editing available since it's a stomp box with one switch. Manual not really necessary. If harmony central offered a 0 rating this would qualify but since 1 is a low as it gets it gets a 1

Sound Quality : 1
59 Fender bsaaman, Fender Strat plus, Brian May Vox. It's a noise reduction pedal. Yes it stops noise BUT it also murders your tone, sustain, volume, punch, and any other good thing about your rig and sound! Once again, a 0 if possible but a 1 since thats all they will allow me.

Reliability : No Opinion
Who knows, I used it for 20 minutes and everything about it stinks!A 0 again!!!!

Customer Support : 1
Who wants to? Why would they want to hear about something they already know is a pice of anal excrement!

Overall Rating : 1
Blues, rock and R&B. Playing as a pro for fourty years. If it were stolen before I returned it the next day after buying it, I would have thanked the thief and proably paid him for stealing it! I whish someone made a delay unit that was stone quiet and provided REAL echoplex sounds. NOT ONLY DOES IT NOT HELP YOU MAKE MUSIC, IT PREVENTS YOU FROM MAKING ANYTHING AT ALL!!!! IT ONLY GETS IN THE WAY WHEN YOU THROW IT AGAINST THE WALL AND YOU HURT THE WALL!!! ONCE AGAIN A PURE 0 IF IT WAS POSSIBLE!

2 knobs, 2 footswitches. easy as pie.

Sound Quality : 8
Well, I gather from the reviews that the new model, single knob version really isn't good. I have the old model, and it does what I want : cut off hiss when I stop playing. I've used noise gates since I started playing. I was always under the impression these Rocktron Hush things were noise REDUCTION and not gates. I compared it to an old MXR Noise Gate/Line Driver and it was better(the Hush was). I also did an A/B comparison using a true bypass loop floor pedal. I played and put the Hush in and out of the chain listening for differences. It pretty much sounded the same except for a slight boost of the low end which I can live with, better than taking bass away. Anyway, I didn't hear any glaring differences.

I should note that I'm using this in the effects loop of 1 channel of a Peavey Rockmaster preamp (Ultra)and not in my pedal chain. I have an MXR Smart Gate and a Morley Noise Gate from the 80's on my pedalboard. Why did I choose this? I was at a used shop and in need of a gate for my super crunch channel, as the MXR Noise Gate(70's) I was using just wasn't cutting it. (I paid 70 some dollars for that baby, that's depressing) Plus I had a $20 Visa gift card burning in my pocket, I figured why not? I did try in the store, sounded fine, but I had to get it home and listen in phones to hear the true sound differences up close. Look, maybe the new version is bad, I don't know. But if you see the old 2 switch version about, give it a shot.

Very hard to get a good sound out of it, infact you cant get a good sound at all.
So simple you dont need a manual.

Sound Quality : 1
I can get the sound of my favorite artists if I just throw the hush pedal in the trash.
everything it touches sounds lifeless.
the thing destroyed my tone.
I use a Peavey 5150
Hughes and Kettner
Marshall AVT150
it ruined the tone of all three amps no matter how I set them.

Reliability : 7
you can depend on it if your looking for a shitty sound.
it is sturdy though, I threw it against a brick wall a few times before it broke.
if only Rocktron would put in as much effort on their sound as they do their looks.

Customer Support : 1
Terrible
It took 6 E-Mails to get an answer and when I did they lied and said it was probably the particular amp I was using, they said they had problems with the Hush and the Peavey 5150.
I replied saying it took away from the sound on everything I hooked it up to and they replied saying to go F%#k myself.

Overall Rating : 1
Im not going to waste anymore time even explaining about this terrible product.
All I can say is that this product in useless in every way for any kind of musician with good working ears.
if you like the sound of a dead tone and your clean channel being flat and lifeless then the Hush Pedal is perfect for you.
I play metal but experiment with everything and the Hush works terrible.
I think it makes a perfect paperweight though.

It totally sucks. One knob.

Sound Quality : 1
It gets rid of your sound. So if you like sounding a punk band buy it.

Reliability : 1
It broke in a month. And it made my tone sound like I was playing out of a ibanez amp or something. My distortion sounded like nirvana when I was trying to play metal and my clean just sounded like my tone knobs were turned off.

Customer Support : 1
My pedal broke after a month. It costs 40 bucks for rocktron to even look at your pedal. I will never used one of their products again.

I understand why the guitar players wouldnt like it but I dont understand why they'd think they needed it. It gives you a flat frequency response. Crap for guitar perfect for harp. If you're a harp player and read this, buy one, steal one, just do your self a favor
Mr. ladies and gentlemans and get one. I used one of em the other night at a jam with a real small stage. I ended up about 2 feet away from a monitor.Ingredients for sure feedback hell with a handheld mic.
The Dobro player was getting some feedback and everyone would look at me right away. Shoulder shrug ,headshake, not me boys. First time I ever really truly enjoyed myself while playing amplified. Works good through the PA or any tube amp I've put it through.Same thing with mics.

Reliability : No Opinion
I'll tell you this. If you get one dont take it apart to see what makes it tick.I did and barely got her back together again and working right. As far as the construction and components used its the biggest piece of shit ever created. Man what a joke. They work killing feedback though and thats alright by me.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
Great for a harp player. Needed one since the first amplified note ever came forth from a long ago worn out harp I once owned

OK first it has 1 knob obviously, which doesn't leave you much variety for tweaking it, it's either a lot of threshhold or not. If you play very high gain music, I'm talking VERY high like using either a Mesa or Peavey 5150 Head on Distortion between 6-9, this pedal is just about worthless.

Sound Quality : 1
It sounded like someone took my custom deep, sharp, thumping, attacking tone and smothered it with a pillow and pulled my gain knob back a few notches. Plus no matter if you use it before your front input or in the effects loop you get a horrible hum that definately doesn't compensate for the hum you're trying to get rid of.

Reliability : 10
Not sure because I took it back immediatly (not to sound bias but I then bought a Boss NS-2 and it works much, much better and has way more bells and whistles on it, but back to the Hush pedal, I will say that it is constructed well similar to a line six style, seems very durable but bottom line is I don't care how reliable it is when it is a 50 dollar piece of junk.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Didn't bother , I knew it wouldn't work for me so I traded it in for credit towards another pedal

Overall Rating : 1
I Play an LTD Eclipse with EMG 81 and 85 pickups , through a Peavey 5150 Head and I use a Line 6 Delay pedal with a Electro Harmonix Holy Grail pedal , and this thing just ruined my sound and forced me to take it back. Though I was tempted to try Rocktron's Super C, I didn't even bother , and just went with the Boss NS 2, which I am totally happy with. My last point I'll say is, when I started looking for a noise gate, I had this picture in my mind of having the most awesome distortion and then every piece of sound going quiet on a dime, this isn't the case no matter what, you will always have at least a little sound similar to a waterfall is how i would describe it , but with these toys you can greatly get closer to what you want.

A total pain in the butt. Only one knob, makes things easy but destroying your other effects' tones to get a sound of this thing makes a big big mess. After all it is not easy to use!

Sound Quality : 2
I could not make this pedal work at all. I notfied the technical support of the music store and they could not help me out at all. To make this thing work you have to almost change the settings of all the effects you use. NO WAY! This is a bad bad way to spend $60.

Here is the set up I use: Gibson studio => danelectro compressor => zoom gfx 8 => dunlop cry baby => boss ge-7 eq => rocktron hush => marshall amps. You can imagine how loud this set up can get.

I play lead guitar in my band, I need to get loud on my parts, and when I am loud, the feedback brings me down thats why I needed a noise gate, but it only made it worse. Its too much of trouble to get a sound of this thing. You have to adjust the tones and settings of other pedals for this one. At the end all you make is a MESS. I am retuning this one in exchange for BOSS NS-2 Noise suppressor. I have played with it and boss sounds way better. I am not giving a 1 to this thing because you can still get sound out of it by playing with you other settings. I have been playing guitar for almost 10 years TAKE MY ADVISE AND DONT BUY THIS PEDAL. Go for boss at least!

Reliability : No Opinion
I have no clue because I am not going to use this pedal on our gigs anyways. And am not even going to own it long enough to test for reliability.

Customer Support : 2
Customer support was not very helpful! I needed to send them 4 emails and see them on person to get a smooth helpful answer. All they were asking me was to read over the manual. LET ME TELL YOU THIS, THERE ARE ONLY 4 PAGES ON THE DAMN MANUAL. Does not help! I think they are aware of the fact how bad this product is and they can't help to troubleshoot at all!

Overall Rating : 2
I have been the lead guitarists of hard rock bands for over 7 years and played the guitar for almost 10 years. Also worked as music engineering for many people. When we play we are loud. This pedal did not help me at all. Buyers think twice before you buy.

First off, you can not get a good sound of this thing. You can get NO "sound" out of this thing. You can get a bizarre, subdued, dead, lifeless imitation of an electric guitar out of this thing... It ranges from compressed and lifeless and peaky, to absolutely unlistenable.

Sound Quality : 1
I'm using a Fender Japanese strat with humbucker-single-single and locking nut, and a Squier fat tele. Marshall AVT20 and Blues Jr. amps. At the lowest setting, it compresses the signal so that soft notes are dead, without high end and lifeless. Loud notes are peaky, trebly and glitchy, with a short sustain. If you turn it up (there's only one knob..) it gets completely squashed, inaudible to dead, and makes your guitar sound like a (bad) banjo.

Reliability : 2
Who knows. I wouldn't plug it in again, if you paid me the $59 cover charge. Believe the reviews here that say "this thing sucks all the tone from your rig" and "you won't believe how bad this is" and "do not buy this pedal." I really hoped, from the few positive takes, it was just a matter of adjusting it correctly. Look; I'm just running the thing direct, into the amp, and it ruins the sound. Yes, it cuts the hiss and hum but it cuts EVERYTHING. You either get a bizarre compressed note bounce, or worse. At best, it's bad. Turn it on more, and anything listenable is gone... It's dependable, if that means it will always destroy your tone is dependable...

Customer Support : 2
No idea. No idea why Rocktron made this, what they were thinking, what their excuse is...

Overall Rating : 1
This is no match, to any kind of music. You might as well unplug the guitar to cut down on noise, based on what this will do to the sound. It's not that it's "ineffective".. it does cut hiss and hum and noise. But at the cost of anything musical coming out, too, it's just not worth it. Unless you're striving for a compressed dead yet uneven sound quality (back to the banjo..) I have no idea why you'd want this to come between you, your guitar, and your amp. I've no idea what someone could do to think it's at all worthwhile. None.

it has a single knob, but i must admit, it is a quality knob

Sound Quality : 2
i use custom fender contemporary strat from the 80's with an emg81 or a dean avalance 7 string, original cry baby wah( sometimes), ART extreme plus efffects processor, Mesa/Boogie V1 bottle rocket, boss Mt-2 metal zone, Boss Ge-7 graphic eq, then the hush, Crate gfx212t

it got rid of the noise from any of the 3 distortions seperate, but with any combinations it was like the savagely ugly blue pedal wasnt even there. right out the box i plugged it in with everything else ( excluding wah,) and nothing worked...but it was my fault. forgot to plug in the battery, haha. so i look at the thing, what a horrible battery latch, first of all i have to unscrew it with a tiny screwdriver, then i try to pull the battery out, that took me about 10 minits, and what happens, the battery connector wasnt even soldered to the wires, so i rigged it to try out the pedal before i drive an hour back to guitar center, and i find that it screws me in the ass without even giving the courtesy of a reach around.( full metal jacket!!) its back in the box and next weekend it and the bottle rocket are going back to GC, ill get the Vtwin (they were sold out) or a boss gt-6 no hassels
its gets a 2 because of all that happned it did do its primary job, which is get rid of some noise

Reliability : 5
the battery connector wasnt even soldered, now thats just pathetic.
but the rest seemed okay

Customer Support : No Opinion

i like all sorts of music but i play in metal bands, and sadly enough i cant afford both the mesa V1 and a boss gt-6 so im going to have to take my baby back...( i bet your thinking about ribs)
ive been playing about 3 years,
if it were stolen i would be pissed, not because it was a quality pedal but because i spent 70 freekin bucks on it
im sure the rackmount is probably worth the extra 100 bucks
