This unit is a bit complicated without the manual. Rocktron posts their manuals, though, so you can download it last time I looked. Editing isn't that hard. Manual is pretty clear.

This is where I run into problems with this box. It does everything it is supposed to, but I play both guitar and keyboards. ON the guitar, the Intellifex sounds great, or at least good. ON keyboards it sucks the tone. Every time I ran my boards through the Intellifex I found them flat and thin. My guess is that the frequency response of the machine is tailored specifically to what a guitar puts out and this isn't something to be messed with. Still, for guitar it sounded good to my ears, but not fantastic.
I found the pitch shifting not real precise on occasion, but that changes a lot depending on the input signal - it was very accurate when given a keyboard signal, so I think the problem is my sloppy guitar work. The chorus is nothing to write home about. It is tremendously editable, but it just doesn't sparkle to my ears.
The Intellifex is dead quiet due to the Hush circuit. With the Hush disabled you can get a lot of noise on some settings.
I play several guitars - a Gibson V, Peavey T-60 and a Harmony Les Paul copy with great tone believe it or not... I also use a Roland GP-8, a Digitech GFX-1 Twin Tube and sometimes a Digitech GSP-5 (they have great delays and reverb and chorus, but the distortion is way too noisy without a Hush pedal, unlike the GFX... so I only use it for clean stuff).
I usually play through a Yamaha G50-112 II I bought new years ago or straight into my mixer. I don't gig at all - not my thing.
I really can't recommend this box due to the flatness it produces. It's just not warm and fat. If I run a fat synth through it the fatness is gone - period.

I have a home studio doing mostly experimental stuff. Not sure what you'd call it really, but I love doing it. Been playing guitar for 26 years, keyboards for 10 or so. I play more keyboards now than guitar (which is why I'm so sloppy with guitar these days). I sold it and will not be buying another one. I have a Boss SX-700 which provides much better modulation effects than the Intellifex to my ears even though it isn't designed as a guitar processor. The Digitech and Roland boxes have a lot of great qualities when used the right way. I can't recommend this. I'm sure somebody can come up with a good use for it, but there are a lot of better units on the market these days.

My setup is a Fender HM Strat USA with EMG pickups. My amp is a Rivera
TBR 1, the Rocktron Intellifex LTD, Rivera 2x12 speakercab(with V30),
a booster pedal and a compression pedal made by Mr Ra-Jazz.I call him
the Dutch Bob Bradshaw. He also customized my Rivera speakercab.I controle my Intellifex LTD with a Rolls MP80 midi pedal. The combination of the TBR 1 with the Intellifex is amazing. Before I had the Intellifex I use to have the G-Major(TC-Electronics), which also
sound great.I like JazzRock and Fusion and musicians such as:L.Carlton
S.Lukather,S.Henderson but also dutch musicians like:A van Dongen,
L.Haaksma,B.Bordes and N.v/d Steenhoven. But I like to have my own sound.

Like all processors, this is easy to use after a few days of screwing aroundwith it. Don't worry, you can reset the factory presets later if you want. This is gonna be hard if it's your first multi FX unit, but this is my 5 or so...so it's pretty easy...

I'm coupling this with some Behringer stuff and a POD 2, along with some enhancers, so I really don't know how loud or quite the unit is, but the effects sound great...Especially the harmonizer...I'm a tad pissed about it not having a Flanger though...But I bought it for the harmonizer. None the less, it's a badass sounding unit...But I have heard better.

I've gotta replace the main selector knob (it was busted upon purchase), but other than that, it works awesome. Let's give a "hell ya" for MIDI. I'm in a porfessional band, and I have and will use this in my live rack till it dies!
Unless I get an Eventide...lol

I play tons of shit, but it's mostly heaviness that I groove to.
This is my second midi unit, and it's rediculously easy to assign.
I've been playing for 5 years (inspirations and models are Petrucci, Hammett, Wylde, Satch, And Micheal Romeo) and this unit is a huge part of modeling their sounds. I highly recomend this as to anyone getting into midi. It's a standard unit. There are better, but there are also alot worse.

I link the unit to the send/return of my Marshall head LM 6100. It's very silent! Not all the effects are very present so "Reverb", "Delay", "Chorus" work very well the others I can't use.

I play rock since 8 years ago! Before I had an Alesis Quadraverb GT. Intellifex-LTD works well and very clean, I would like to have inside a good tremolo and some other effects so for this I'm going to buy some stompboxes.
