Ease of Use : 10
Three knobs and one switch, very easy to figure out how to use. No instructions manual necessary (although it comes with one).

Sound Quality : 6
Unfortunately, this pedal makes a high-pitch whistling sound. It is there even when the pedal is off, and becomes much louder when one. the delays sound nice, but the whistling is unacceptable. I am using it in front of my amp, so I don't know how it would sound through an effects loop. Without whistling I'd give a ten, but I can't because of the whistling.

Reliability : 9
Looks sturdy, aluminum case.

I didn't contact Rocktron about the problem this pedal had - just returned it. Blue LED light is so bright it hurts my eyes. I put a piece of duct tape over it and then it was the normal LED brightness.

Overall Rating : 6
For the price these pedals sell for, I was really hoping it would be the delay pedal I was looking for. I will keep searching...

Ease of Use : 10
Super easy to use. Effect level knob, Regeneration (# of repeats) knob, and Time (length of repeats) knob, as well as switch for "Short" and "Shorter" delay times.

Sound Quality : 10
This is the fifth delay pedal I've owned and easily the best sounding. I won't pay the money for analog delay pedals, so this one is it for me. Does not have the harshness of Boss pedals. Very nice pretty delays for clean or soloing, or whatever. I don't use long delays so this is fine for me. I can tell it's not true bypass - the tone is altered just barely. I don't care though. It's not a big change and doesn't make my setup sound worse, just barely different.

Haven't owned it long enough to rate this. Made of metal, looks very sturdy.

Easy to use. May take some time to get the sound you are looking for, but easy to dial in different sounds. The odd thing is the on/off indicator light is so bright, it almost blinds you looking at it.

Sound Quality : 8
I run numerous guitars into a toneworks 104ds into this, into an ice box chorus, into an old tube amp. sounds good. It won't be a major change in sounds, at least not the way I set it up, but just enough of the subtle sounds to make your sound that much better

Reliability : 9
built well. All aluminum chasis. Footswitch seems sturdy.

n/a...but a certain m123 music retailer I purchased another item for recently is a pain in the butt to deal with. I doubt I will ever do business with them again. buyer beware with them

Overall Rating : 8
For $30 new, I couldn't be happier with this pedal. I play mostly rock, and 80's type metal, and it fits in well there. I have been playing for 7 years as a hobbyist but know a decent product when I hear it.

The manual is as expected. Not much to it, where to put it in the efx chain, etc. But there's really nothing to learn. Three knobs, all of which do what they do when you turn them, so the learning curve is short. And one button for "short and shorter" delay. Short has a range from between 0 and 4/10 sec., and shorter is between 0 and 2/10 sec. Anything longer than that is space music or sampling anyway.

Sound Quality : 10
This stompbox is dead quiet. Zero noise. But, wait, there's more! The regeneration control is amazing. Herein lies the "vintage" aspect of this effect pedal. It's hard to describe, but you get decay that's not at all like any Digitech or Roland that I've ever owned. It's just this side of reverb, but not. And the volume control is like having a mix control in an effects loop. The tap-back is perfect. You can play anything and it sounds like a yellow Sun record. Then, push the button for slightly longer delay and you can get all Jimmy Page or David Gilmour with it. Forget about samples or doubling yourself, that's not what it's for.

This is a brand-new, 2003 release item. But I have a obsolete Rocktron Big Surf tremolo with Hush and it's bulletproof. No reason to think this won't be equally reliable, so I'm giving it the highest rating.

Never called them. Good website, though.

I've owned several high-end digital delays and an awesome Korg tape delay. I sold my Digitech PDS 8000+ to a guy from London when I was Switzerland two summers ago and have been looking for anything that could touch it ever since. I actually like this unit better, at 1/4 the price, with no quirks or hassles, noise, background swish, nothing problematic. (By the way, this model was released in Europe before the U.S. It lists for about 75 Euros and I've seen them for 59 Euros on sale). I suppose they could have put side-by-side metal stomp switches so that you could switch back and forth between short and shorter without bending over, but that's not really a criticism, just an observation.
