Easy, easy. Two knobs, rate and resonance. However, the interaction with these two is very cool.

Sound Quality : 10

Cool phaser, it has more of an open, more natural sound than others. Plus, it is very touch responsive. Depending on how hard you play, its dynamics shift while your playing. Very cool.
Also turning up the speed while turning down the resonance changes it to a leslie type sound. This thing is very flexible.

Reliability : 10

Never failed me in the two years I've had it, and this things gotta be 25 years old

THE ultimate 70's phase shifter. Much better than the MXR 90.
The only negative is that it takes 2 batteries! However I've had the same two in for more than a year.

Two knobs. One rate, the other resonance. The resonance allows you just a little more control than the MXR phase 90. Not too many options, nor are there too few. Just right.

I try and not mix in too many effects with this one. Its pretty wild. Clean or distortion with or without reverb. You can do so much with this. I run a American Strat through a fender blackface. Great sound. Phase is quite when clean. Distortion brings out the beast in this thing. Amazing feedback wobbles, screams, bright screaches. Haunting! With distortion, you can here the depth and rythm really loud when your not playing. Some may be annoyed by this. I love it!Again, one pedal. Lots of play here. Great screaming leads. The overall sound is a phaser that tries to be a dark analog flanger. This is a great quality in my book. I figure if i need a quiet predictable phaser, I can go to guitar center and get a new Digitech stompbox. I enjoy a little analog fun. You can also get some nice tremelo/ vibrato sounds. Overall, i love this pedal. Theres many time i thought of trading it in for something else. Instead, I wound up writing another riff with it or did some feedback play for an hour or so. I love this thing!!!

Have owned it for a month. Pots need cleaning. This was made in the seventies. At this point, I dont expect them to clean the pots for me.

I play some experimental music. Have many years experience with more orthodox styles. If one is trying to mimic someones style or play in accordance with something more orthodox, i would not recommend this phaser. On the other hand, if you are creating your own sound or just want to have fun, this is definitely a great pedal to have in your arsenal. My purchasing philosophy is simple. If it fits me i use it, if not i just move on and keep searching. This is my only phaser effect. Haunting and spacious feedback play, screaming solos, spacy hum, etc. Love it!
