Very Easy to use. Use with a playmate pedal and you set for some fun.
Saving settings is very easy just hold down the button.

I use this for live sound. it can be very hissy but as long as you drive the input right it can become distant noise floor.
sounds great!

I use it for bands I tour with that need a dub sound i use it in my rack with a D2 and between them I have all the delay I can dream of.
It has character and is getting harder to find in my part of the world.

Really easy to use but manual is out there for free.. try.... http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instructions-owner-manual/ROLAND/SDE-3000-_E
Also, a delay chart will come in handy... Google is your friend here!

I am using this through my patchbay and put anything and everything through it. It is the cleanest delay I have heard and yet it sparkles with personality that you just can't get with plug ins. Mad Professor swears by these (read his interview in SOS) and that in itself should be enough to persuade anybody to check one out. And they are fairly cheap at the moment, I bought mine August 08.

Never had to deal with Roland but Japanese customer support is normally pretty good. It's only when you have to deal with US or UK distributers that one normally gets let down lol!

I would definetely get another if my studio burnt down. If you have a rack in your studio just buy one, you won't regret it, no matter what type of music you make.

I just found a copy of the owner's manual. So, here follow the official caracteristics of the SDE 3000:
Companding PCM equivalent to 16 bit. 100 dB dynamic range, 0.03% harmonic distortion. With 4.5s delay: frequency 20Hz to 8kHz. With less than 1.5s delay: 10Hz to 17kHz. Delay accuracy: +-0.4%. SDE 3000 was built in 1984. weight 5 kg.
Please write to me if you wish to get a copy of the owners manual. There is nothing surprizing in it, but the manual is quite rare and could interest you.

It Just Might the easiest rack delay unit ever made. Trust Me on this one. Its got a lot more features than most other delay units, and yet its easier to use then all of them.

It sounds so Great. I mean ive tried other dealys before this one, and they were either to loud, to quiet, to sensitive, too noisy, wut every. but this unit sound awesome. its a quiet sounding dealy, but its not weak at all. every thing you do with it sounds good. i've been wanting one for a bout a year before i actually got one, but i never even played through it before i got it, because i knew it would sond so great, and i was right. i play jazz, rock, and funk, its its great for all of that.

The design is made very strong i guess. no problems with it yet. i bought one used, and i know its from the 80s, so it must be strong.

if this unit were stolen, i would definantly try to find another to buy, because it is the best. and it truly is the best, because if u look at a lot of guitarist and studio engineers, they all use it, and why would they use something that sucks. even if your not a rack guy, or someone who is into the digital/ processed sound, still check this one out if you ever see it, because im sure you'll find it to be an easy unit, that sounds fantastic.

non-stereo delay (just delay, nothing more!!!). Very powerful and specialized product. Editing patches is EZ: all functions are accessible from front panel. 8 RAM program, delays until 4500 ms, 99%, modulation and rate, U can decide as well the delay phase, the modulation, the feedback phase

Excellent sound quality, enormous delay lenght. Now, this effect is old, but it sounds as neutrally as a professionnal delay should always sound.
