Ease of Use : 10
It's quite easy to get a good sound out of this (distortion) pedal. It's small, lightweight, and everything seems to fit together correctly. I've been doing a lot of fumbling around with the knobs to get the right kind of sound for my music, but I've had no problems in this area.

It comes with a small manual that's a little hard to read because of the print quality, but easy to understand once you get by that.

Sound Quality : 9
I play a Route 101 Solimar through a vintage KV25 Schaeller solid state amp. The only problem I have had with noise is having the guitar, pedal, and amp in a very confined space. I can't help the room size, but once I moved the pedal away from the amp and stood to the side, the feedback was cancelled out. It sounds great, but justice can't be done unless the volume is cranked up. The sound I was mainly going for with this pedal was AC/DC with the ability to play some Hendrix also... I got just that. It can go anywhere from mildly distorted to extremely gritty.

Reliability : 8
The only thing that worries me in this area is the size and weight. Although these things can be a plus, that and the plastic casing lead me to believe that it couldn't live up to a major beating (which it won't get from me, considering that I don't gig). Don't take this to mean that I think it has flaky construction, because that isn't the case... All I mean is that it isn't a tank. I don't know that I will find out much about its durability, as I treat my equiptment better than I treat my family...

Customer Support : 10
To give Route 101 any less than a 10 in this area would be a sin. I bought my guitar from them also, and they have always been friendly and courteous. I got quick responses to my questions (from a previous purchase) and fast shipping. No company will treat you better.

Overall Rating : 10
I play a lot of classic rock, some more modern rock, and some metal. I think that (given the distort adjustment range) this is a good pedal for any of those styles. I've been playing for a mere 6 months, but I've learned quite a bit in that time. I have another pedal from Route 101 (a UM-1) that I also love. I can count all of my gear on one hand, I think... If this pedal were stolen or lost, I would replace it in an instant. I don't hate anything about it. My favourite feature would have to be the treble/bass adjustment knob. I chose it because the sound clips on the site seemed to suit what I was looking for (they are extremely accurate, by the way). Great pedal. If you're looking into distortion, check it out on the site (route101guitars.com).
