Ease of Use : 7
This is a rack tuner, so there is no sound -- which is good. I've had other pedal tuners add noise to the signal, so silence is golden. Got this used, so no manual, but easy to use -- plug into the labeled jacks. I agree that it's a little slow recognizing notes, and mine's even slower to release them (e.g., playing an open string then the 12th fret to check intonation) -- I've found I have to damp the strings to get the original signal to stop registering.

Sound Quality : 10
Great, as noted above (no noise!). I use it with a Traynor YRM-1, and a Kustom K200A.

Reliability : 9
Seems very solidly built, and once installed in a rack should remain pretty safe from abuse. I always expect problems, however, so would always have a backup tuner pedal.

No reason to contact them.

Overall Rating : 9
Good value, and much better than my previous tuner pedals --- not only does it seem more accurate, it's easier to use because of the display, and because of the rack mounting won't be following me all over the stage.

After a volume pedal, I go in to this first on my rack. I like the mute tuner (but then again I EXPECT a mute function on a rack tuner). The problem is that it takes forever to register what I'm playing. OK so maybe I exaggerate when I say forever, but it's a good couple of seconds... too long for my taste. Maybe it's just the particular one I got (bought it used).

Sound Quality : 8
I've never had problems with noise, and the mute tuner works just as well as non-mute - no noise bleeds through or anything like that.

Reliability : 5
I can depend on it if I have five minutes to tune up (like at practice or before a show) but not if I have to fine-tune during the twenty seconds between songs on stage. Also, the power chord is disconnectable.. one more thing to lose - I like a good solid hard-wired power connection.

Never messed with 'em

I bought this thing used off eBay because it was inexpensive. When I got it I realized that inexpensive is a nice word for CHEAP. Is there a difference between the 1600 and the 1601? They look surprisingly similar. And, I hate to sound like a poser but hey, this thing just doesn't look as cool as some of the rack tuners on the market out there. When I have the cash, I am replacing it.

This is a rack tuner. Very simple and easy to use. Has front and back access (nice touch) and a mute button. Also, can tune while playing if needed (good theory anyway).

Sound Quality : 3
I ran this first in line. Tom Anderson->Shure wireless->Sabine Tuner->Crybaby->Boss Overdrive->Alesis Quadraverb->Deluxe Reverb. I never had a problem with sound/noise per se. However, it picked up other sounds and if I put it on mute, it wouldn't pick up the signal and thus, wouldn't work. Very inaccurate. I was very disappointed in this unit.

Reliability : 3
I couldn't depend on it. Ended up getting a Boss TU-2. It beat the $150.00 Sabine by quantum leaps. Again, the Sabine would not tune for crap if on mute or if on stage with other instruments or music going. It would pick up the background signals. Maybe through the guitar, I don't know.

Never dealt with sabine

I was touring the midwest at the time I had this setup. I have long been rid of it. Would not recommend it for any use other than maybe a quiet setting such as studio or home use. Definitely not a dependable tuner for stage.

This review is for a rack mount electric guitar tuner.

This thing is extremely easy to use.
Had a manual, but never had to open it.

Sound Quality : 7
Sounds fine.

Reliability : 10
I can depend on this thing to give me top notch tuning everytime.
Super accuarate!
I know Sabine replaced this unit with a new model (RT-1700?), but I'd imagine it's the same only improved.
I've used a few other brands of guitar tuners, but this one takes the cake.
Best investment you can make if you play regularly. I think I paid $200 for it. I forget since I bought it a few years ago.

Customer Support : 10
haven't needed them.
knock on wood:.

Overall Rating : 10
This is a superior unit.

I can't imagine making a better one, but I guess they did since there is a newer model.
