Very easy to use. How hard can a wah be? Toe click on/off and volume pot on side. My only issue is that the led indicators are on the foot plate. Nice touch, but how are you supposed to see if they are on or off when you are using the wah ...

I play an american deluxe tele through a 2x12 mesa tremoverb combo. I can get some really nice and very broad sounds out of the pedal, its a shame it hisses as much as it does when turned on. Its not annoyingly loud, but noticable, especially with the toe down. Had the same hiss with a battery and power supply.

Sorry to break the run of perfect 10s for this pedal. Its very good, but not worth of all 10s. I don't think many pieces of gear are ...
It's an 8 for me.

Turns on and off like a Crybaby...

I used a Fender USA Strat and a VOX amp, i plug my guitar to this baby first and then to my BOSS effect chain and it soooouuunnndddsss AWESOME!!! it has different characteristics to that of Crybaby, Morley and a Weeping Demon. This has a darker, more solid sound.. the wah somehow sounds like a flanger sometimes (according to me). DO NOT.. I REPEAT.. DO NOT use any other power supply other than the Snarling Dogs' ones. It will create a hell of a noise and God knows what will it do to the pedal. Either use a 9V Battery or a Snarling Dog power supply.

When i first lifted this pedal, i almost dropped it.. it weighs more than a newborn baby!! it can be used as a wah pedal or a weapon. If you caught your girlfriend in bed with somebody else, this will be the most suitable thing to throw to the bastard or you can just hit him repeatedly with this pedal.. believe me.. it's not a tank.. it's like a submarine.

I play mostly classic rocks, but my band sometimes experimented with 80's dance music, so i have to get a wah pedal and thank God i found this pedal. it can compete with Morley, Crybaby and Weeping Demon, Snarling Dog people just suck with publicity :) If you want to be unique and different from all of those people using the pedals i stated above, use a Snarling Dog... but Crybaby, Morley and Weeping Demon ain't bad, that's why they're the leaders in wah pedal industry.. but i finally found my signature sound in Snarling Dog Black Bawl...

Very easy to use. It is just a little distortion pedal. Not a nasa spaceship.

I use a gibson sg, and fender pro tone strat through this, and a ds-1 distortion pedal, into my jtm600head and 1960A cabinet combination.
I really enjoy the sound. Not too harsh, nor too meager of a sound. It's just what i was looking for. The preamp dial on the side is a nice feature to have, too.

I'm not a proffesional guitar player, but i have had a fair number of gigs. It has held up fine without a problem. I have never abused it, so i don't know how it would handle against it. I understand it isn't made of kevlar, so i don't treat it like it is.

When i first bought it, it was VERY inconsistent. So i sent an e-mail to kenny, (the man who makes them) and got a very quick response. In the end, he had me ship it to the factory, where he fixed it free of charge, and then quickly sent it back. Within a week after finding it broken, it was already at my doorstep, working amazingly.

It's a wah pedal like any other. Step on the toe to turn it on. Step on the toe again to turn it off. The preamp volume on the side is pretty simple to understand. 10 is loud, zero is quiet. The pedal is even foot-shaped, there really is no excuse for not figuring it out. The users manual is a completely useless one-page pamphlet. But, it really shouldn't be necesary anyway.

I really love the way this thing sounds. I'm going from a Crybaby, so I'm probably easy to impress, but man. The depth and breadth of the tone sweep is pretty awesome. The switch is completely noiseless. It stays in a sweet spot throughout the sweep. The crybaby was nasal and obnoxious with the toe end pressed all the way down. I'm not affraid to use the entire range of the Black Bawl. Me like.

Well, I've only had it for a week or so, so I can't make much comment here. I can say though that if you get a new one, it comes with a baggie of extra parts, so if you lose a rubber foot or the preamp knob, you can replace them. That's nice.

I haven't used customer support. But the Snarling Dogs company was recently bought out, so I would be interested to know what kind of support they offer.

Over all, I really can't imagine a better sounding wah pedal. It's very smooth and, just, I dunno. It sounds full. They call it their "white room" sound, which I don't really get. But it is nice. Exactly the kind of wah I was looking for. It handles distortion very well. It can sound "whacka whacka" funky when used clean with the guitar tone turned up and some midrange thrown in. Plus it has a picture of a cool dog with glowing eyes on it.

Sounds great. Preamp volume is a useful feature not offered by most vintage wahs. Just get your rig set-up, adjust the preamp volume for the wah level you want and then leave it alone.

Pretty self explanitory for anyone with any wah experience...rock it forward, it turns on...do it again, it turns off. The pedal itseelf is much larger than any other wah and it makes turning it on much easier as there is more area to press down on. It has a volunme knob very much like a Morley wah and is more comfortable to use than a Vox or Dunlop.

I play a modified Strat (with alnico magnet pickups), an Ibanez Artstar, and a Washburn BT-2 into the Black Bawl, a Digitech Metal Master distortion, an Ibanez FZ7 Fuzz, a Boss GE-7 equalizer, and an Ibanez PH7 phaser into a Crate GFX212. I was looking for a deeper more effective wah as the Crybaby i have wasn't effecting the signal as much with high levels of distortion. I also needed to axe this Crybaby because it was sucking my signal due to not having a true bypass on it. After trying other Dunlops, Voxes, Morleys, and even the Danelectro wah with all the buttons (A WASTE OF TIME) I gave the Snarling dogs wah a try thinking that i'd be stuck with this Crybaby until i can find a switch of electonics for it (possibly thru Fulltone). The Black Bawl has a tone of its own with the most sweep i've ever heard on a wah pedal. It is practically noiseless when it is turned on and it screams even with my Metal Master set as a Deathmetal distortion. With cleaner tones, it has a distinct vocal quality about it, much like a Vox, but cleaner like a Morley. I was looking for a wah that can do it all in one package and i found it with Snarling Dogs.

Built like a tank! Almost twice the weight of the Dunlop! I dont think i'd need a backup for this one but if i did i'd settle for the Crybaby.

I play numerous styles of music, ranging from blues, classic rock, heavy metal, new metal, black metal, alternative rock, punk...too many to even number. This pedal is a top of the line, no frills wah with a distinct wah/vocal quality with any tone, be it distorted or clean, effects-laden or straight into an amp. The hard bypass is a definate selling point as this is a must for any gigging musician who wants reliability as well as top knotch sound quality. I'll never even consider another wah without first comparing it to this. ROCK ON SNARLING DOGS!
