It doesn't get any easier than this, volume control and 3 wah settings.

Sound Quality : 9
Great sounds right out of the box, like I said, very easy to use! The white room setting is perfect for newer rock like Godsmack, Alice in Chains, etc. Voodoo sound great of course, for blues, or whatever. Shaft just makes you want to create soundtracks for porno movies or bring back the 70's. Super sounds!

Reliability : 9
Little pin fell out of it, but no biggie. It's built like a brick!

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't had any problems or questions yet.

Overall Rating : 9
I play a lot of newer cover shit plus originals, like Alice in Chains, Godsmack, Tool plus a few blues jams. I've only been playing for about a year. If this pedal was lost, I'd buy another one. It's cheap enough that I wouldn't have to beat somebody up over it. I've played around with a few other wah pedals, an older Morley and a newer Vox wah. I like the extreme sound of this pedal, some people won't. I really don't have a favorite setting, all of them are excellent! I'd love to try out more of their pedals!

Ease of Use : 10
It's a wah pedal. They're not that hard to use.

Sound Quality : 9
I play with a variety of guitars, from a Les Paul Studio to a Joe Satriani Signature Ibanez, and I get great sound from both with the pedal (well, I get great sound without, too, but that's not the point). It has a big sweep on it, so the expression you can get out of it is great. It also has three different settings for how "dark" or "light" you want the wah to be. There's Shaft, an almost tinny sounding wah; Voodoo, which is Hendrix wah; and White Room, which is a heavier sounding wah.

Reliability : 10
I have never had a problem with the pedal. A lot of other people in their reviews said that the reliability has been awful, but I've found mine to be very dependable.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've never had to deal with the company. No need.

Overall Rating : 10
I would recommend this pedal to anyone seeking a quality wah pedal. Like I said, I've never had a problem with it, and the sound is incredible. I compared this one to the Crybaby, and it blew it away. But this is just my opinion. Get off your ass and try it for yourself.

This unit is very easy to use. Some people say they have trouble using it but I think the functions on this beast are amazing. Sure, the switch might be hard to turn on, but who the hell plays in concert, sitting down. I had trouble with it at first. I simple tightened to rubber stoppers and the bottom of the foot. I've no problems since. If you tighten the rubber stoppers too much, the rubber face plate (the foot shape) will lift.

Sound Quality : 9
I use a 100 Watt Marshall head with two 4X12 cabinets. I use A gibson Les Paul double cutaway, a gibson L6-S, and a mexican fender with Texas special replacement pickups. I use a variety of pedals such as, Boss Metal Zone, Boss Distortion, Boss Chorus, Ibanez tubescreamer, Boss Heavy Metal (it's old), and a Boss compression/sustainer.
This pedal is way better than my DOD FX-17 Wah/volume. With the Whine-O pedal I get everything I want from mild wah to heavy wah. It also has 3 types of wah built in.

One really good thing about this pedal is that you can leave it in one position to get a specific sound. Now with a Morley Bad Horsie you can't do this because the second you take your foot off of it, it goes to bypass.

Reliability : 10
This pedal is more realible than many other wahs.

Never tried.

I've been playing for 7 years. I play heavy music such as Metallica, but I do enjoy playing some Santana once in a while and this pedal is great for that. It is Also perfect for Jimi Hendrix lovers because it has a selection switch called Voodoo that is perfect for his music. If this pedal was lost I would by a new one.

Yeah, it's easy. Of course, with all the switches you'll spend time dinkin' with it and for every guitar you'll plug into it you'll be inclined to dink some more. Gets kinda tiresome...and I'm a rack guy!

Sound Quality : 8
No matter what settings on the wah, I find I switch patches on my rig when I plan to engage the wah, so I can EQ out that ear-piercing trebly crap when the pedal is full down. Woulda been nice if there was a (high-pass) filter that worked on all modes. But overall, hey, there's much worse wah pedals out there.

Reliability : 2
Same as it ever was....the switch blows dick. Your pressing on it (and I'm 150 lbs) will case the switch housing to separate soon enough. I managed to fix it by bending it's inadequate metal tabs back into place and then "potting" the whole switch housing in epoxy.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never tried.

Overall Rating : 4
I've been through several wahs and they all leave me wanting. I now have a rack wah on order- since I use rack gear and it appears to have big tonal flexibilty. If I change guitars (or for different musical moods) I can send a MIDI signal to change the wahs tonal range. Plus the mechanical part is N.A. since the controller can be a simple CC pedal.
Besides, John Petrucci uses it and he is my God...

This is an update to a previous review (dated 3/20?) to report no email response. The previous review failed to confirm if Snarling Dogs was responsive. They have not responded to my email in the last 2 weeks. I revisited the website to find a telephone number to talk to a real person. The number has been removed.

Overall Rating : 1
Excellent sound, cool aesthetics, but worthless when functionally fails within first 10 minutes. I re-submitted this (updated) review to include my name - seemed only fair to submit a contact after being critical.

Easy to use right out of the box. It has several options to choose that doesn't make the thing turn-key. But, the flexibility will allow for any sound desired.

Sound Quality : 8
Great sound for distortion. It has the nasal thing with good sweep. Unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to explore all the possibilities. Time didn't allow for finding a good clean sound. But, I'm confident it's there - somewhere.

Reliability : 1
On-off switch broke within 10 minutes. The failure was surprising after researching the product reviews and getting a favorable impression, but then I vaguely remembered other folks having the same problem. I verified the reviews again, and found 3 out of 10 guys had the same problem early (puppy mortality). I was curious and disassembled "the dog" to look for a malady. Everything, the housing, switches, and hardware look military industrial grade, except the on-off switch. The offending switch had its casing separated from the weight of the toe-on action. Definately, a weak link in the design. This switch looked plastic by contrast to the other hardware (rotary switch, toggle switch) that appeared metal, titanium for all I know. The toe-on action is the most frequent operation and the switch should be more robust. And my perceptions seem to substantiated by some of the other reviews.

Contacted Snarling Dogs by email a couple of days ago. No reply as of yet.

Overall Rating : 2
Bummed. My perception is that the pedal has crapped-out on 33% of the users and Snarling Dogs may have stopped answering the email.

If you feel the need to invest $130 on a pedal that permits you the luxury of learning how to fix-it. Have at it!

This pedal is so much fun to figure out (dual inductors, hormone switch, and 3-way switching) that I never looked for a manual.

Sound Quality : 10
A Mexican Fender Strat, Carvin X100 head, and Hughes & Kettner 4X12. If you play it in the "Shaft" mode, expect a lotta treble. I use this pedal at the beginning of a long effects chain to filter the sound of my guitar through the effects (I don't play guitar but effects and the amp) I use. They are: Whine-O Wah, Morley 70's compressor, Big Muff, Digitech XP 200, Boss DD-3, and an old 8-bit Peavey delay that I still use.

Reliability : 10
With the hard bypass, I haven't had to change a battery in this thing for almost six months. Plus, it weighs about 8 pounds.

Overall Rating : 10
This sucker is funky and psychedelic. In fact, I turned it on during a surf solo for a treble boost and everyone loved it. It is a great tone pedal and wah-wah unit. There is no comparable unit out there. I had a Vox and a Cry Baby. Once you've heard this thing, you'll sell them to pay for the Whine-O.

This is your standard wah pedal. The same learning curve still applies as any other wah pedal, it takes some practice to get good with one,but this is no harder than any other pedal.

Sound Quality : 9
My current setup is a american strat through a Fender Deville. This pedal is the best sounding wah pedal in my opinion. The only complaint I have is that there is a slight increase in volume when you kick it on. I have tried this pedal through lots of amps, from marshalls, to peaveys to mesas, this is a good pedal through any amp.

Reliability : 10
Built like a brick. I'd gig without a backup. I've had it for a month now, and the only prodlem I've had is with the bolt around the volume knob has become loos a few times. I will replace the bolt later, if it becomes loose again.

Customer Support : 10
Never dealt with them, but if you've read some of the other reviews, mr. Stinger cares about his customers, and the pedals with his name on them, I have no worries.

Overall Rating : 9
I play a mix of blues/rock/ska/funk, This pedal does the job exceptionally. Now all I need is a parker fly and I will be set. The only problem I have had is the volume knob, and I won't loose sleep over it. I think this is a class A pedal that you sould try if you get a chance.

It's a wah for god's sake :) Has the footpedal, a volume control (u can get about 18db of gain out of it) and a three-position switch which allows you to select the frequencies the wah will sweep (this gives some great tone flexibilty). And you've probably seen the looks of this beast already, so i won't bother telling how cool it is :)

Sound Quality : 9
Ohh the sound :) Well, it's simply the best wah tone i've heard. To start with, the bypass is clean. When u activate the effect, the eyes of the dog turns red (beautiful :)... the sweep is long and deep, and the sound's very clean at any point (even in the high freq mode). It's hard to explain, it's like it's got some more "ooohmmp" that makes the tone richer... listen it and u'll agree completely. The frequency selector it's great and allows u to make the wah sound like virtually any other out there. The "White room" (low freq) mode is great to make those deep rich rytmic sounds or a "vintage" sound when u solo, "Voodoo" (med) works excellent for both too (i use it to solo mainly) and the "Shaft" (high freqs) is really high and ear-cracking.. :) i'm sure those after some radical noise will love it.
The only drawback is that, even with the volume control at zero, the wah level it's a little higher than the normal guitar level, and that's the only reason i'm giving it a nine. But for that wah sound i can live with that!

Reliability : 10
It's undestructible. Really. The box is thick solid metal and very heavy (it's NOT going to accidentaly move), the footpedal is practically a piece of foot-shaped steel :), with a thick plastic cover. The gear track is very wide, the dpdt switch is solid, the controls are well made and attached... even the wires that goes from the box to the two leds in the pedal are tidy and well attached. Beleive me, it's not going to ever let u down... and if it does, the nuclear explosion would kill u as well :)

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealed with them... through i emailed Charlie Stringer a couple of times and he always answers in person and very fast. But check the other reviews, they have the best support out there.

Overall Rating : 10
Bottom line: it's the best wah i've heard... and it'll be the best YOU hear so go out and get one. No, get two. It has a terrific sound, an extremely good look :), it's practically bulletproof and haves a GREAT price... what else could u want? Everyone that i know and tried the pedal were amazed, it's all i can say. If it were stolen i'd kill that person and it's descendants.
