It's a wah. Step on it.

Sound Quality : 1
I hate the way this thing sounds. Noisy, not enough highs, the sweep is messed up, and when you are completely toe-down you hit the switch, which makes an audible pop through your chain. This thing is not worth the box it came in.

well this pedal just sounds really really bad !!! , way to much lows
almost no highs ... doesn't sound fluent and when you press on it you hear the loudest annoying sound of the upper surface touching the on/off button and it makes this most annoying swoocsh swoocsh kind of clicks ... really terrible ...
i should have known a pedal which looks like a toy will sound like one too ... :(

It's a freakin' wah pedal. It's either on or it's off. No other controls. The simplest of the Snarling Dogs wahs.

The manual is brief. It's got instructions for replacing the battery and hooking up cables, etc. Nothing you shouldn't know already. It also has a rudimentary trouble shooting guide, which might perhaps be of some help to someone, somewhere.

Sound Quality : 6
I play on a Fender American Dlx Stratocaster with noise-cancelling single coils. My rig is kind of in flux right now, as I'm trying to rebuild it after years of playing on subpar equipment. At the moment, I'm playing though this ancient solid state amp made by a now defunct company called Heath. I guess it was some sort of kit amp from the seventies. It sounds harsh and cracked, but it's got charm. I also use this cheesy Digitech RP100 effects processor, which is bound to choke and die any day now. Like I said, my equipment sucks hard, my guitar being the lone exception. This wah is only the first of a few additions to come. Which brings us to the unit's sound quality:

Put simply, the wah sounds pretty sweet. It's a whole different monster from my old and retired/broken Crybaby and Vox wahs. More lows, less highs, and lots of vowel-y midrange in between. Plus it has a fantastically smooth sweep. It's got a huge, thick sound, especially with a bit of amp crunch. This thing will talk dirty if you give it the right finesse. I think it's best suitable for lead guitar. Funk rhythms and reggae chords sound a bit too... how do I say this... too heavy, I suppose. I think that's because this thing has so much low end. Still, it does the job, though I am thinking about renovating one of my other wahs, for rhythm use, and using this huge green beast solely for lead breaks.

As great as this wah sounds, it's got a fairly big problem with it. The pot makes quite a bit of noise -- a kind of *shwooksh shwooksh* sound when you rock the pedal forward. I tried using some electrical cleaner spray on the pot, thinking it was just dirty, but it doesn't seem to have helped. The switch also pops a little when it is turned on and off. I would have given the pedal an 8 or even a 9, if only it worked perfectly. As it is, however, I'm gonna have to give it a 6. It's really a shame. I've had such a pretty terrible run with wah pedals in the past that I was hoping this unit would be the ONE. I'm pretty disappointed, but I'm actually more anxious than anything. I haven't decided what to do about getting it fixed, but I'll go into that later.

Reliability : 6
I would have guessed it to be reliable as hell. It's huge and heavy. It also seems to be fairly well assembled. However, those Chinese electronics must leave something to be desired (that's not a racial slur, I promise, just an observation). It doesn't seem like it's going to flat-out break anytime soon, but a brand new pedal shouldn't be making the kind of noises this thing does. I guess I'll give it a 6 as well. *shrug*

I contacted Kenny Segall, the designer of all things Snarling Dogs, and he was pretty helpful and amiable about the whole thing. He recommended I try the cleaner spray, which like I said didn't work. He then told me he could repair/replace it for $52 unless it was under warranty. Therein lies another problem: D'Andrea Inc., the company that owns Snarling Dogs and handles their warranties, has a pretty lame warranty policy. Apparantly, the warranty is only valid if the pedal is purchased from an authorized Snarling Dogs dealer. I bought mine from a guy on ebay. I guess he got this thing for Christmas, but he never used it except to test it briefly. For all purposes, it was brand spankin new. It even came in the original box with the warranty card and everything. Regardless of this fact, my pedal's warranty is void. So to get it fixed, I'd have to shell out nearly the amount I paid for it in the first place. NO THANKS. I know that analogman.com sells Fulltone wah pots for $25 bucks. I'm thinking I'll just buy a new pot and get a friend to replace it for me. Who knows, it might end up sounding even better.

Snarling Dogs seems like a good company. They were super friendly and quick to respond, but that warranty policy is wack. Maybe it's a pretty standard policy for effects pedal companies, I wouldn't know. It is a pretty big inconvenience though, and for that reason, I'm deducting 2 points.

I've been playing guitar for almost 10 years, and I play in a three-piece band. The music we play is difficult to describe accurately. I suppose you could call it reggae fusion: we take all sorts of different styles (latin, jazz, punk, funk, whatever) and mix them into a hearty helping of reggae. Like I mentioned earlier, this pedal is a little too full sounding for reggae chords and such, but whilst soloing it is a monster. This thing will nail a nice throaty, Hendrix-y type wail. If it was ever stolen or lost, I'd probably invest in a Teese RMC-something-or-other. I hear good things about those.
If I could get this thing fixed, I'd be quite satisfied. Until then, I can't give this thing more than a 6 overall. It pains me to do it considering how sweet this thing sounds, but that noise is unforgivable. Maybe once I get it repaired, I'll come back and write a more favorable (and much shorter) review.

no knobs, just like a crybaby (origanal). step on it and go. it has a very wide sweep and can get a better and fuller range of wah sound than a cry baby. no need for a manual.

Sound Quality : 10
i have found my wah pedal. wonder wah 2 be thy name. this wah pedal is made to sound like a vintage wah, hence it's "WHITE ROOM" (Cream/Clapton) it really just models that sound. and does a very good job.
i use this with a Epi Les Paul Custom Plus, BOSS OS-2 (great pedal), and a cheap SS Fender Princeton 65 (older model).
i use it for an extra bit of flavor for my live solos with my band. and that it does well.

Reliability : 6
ok, i have gigged with it once. but sometimes at band rehearsal one of the wires on the inside gets screwy, making the wah useless, and needs atention. so that definetly brings it down a peg in my book. when it does work however it works well. not to say this thing never works, it only happens once in a blue moon where it useless. but still kinda shitty.

havent delt with Snarling Dog before.

i play lots of old rock on my own, but in my band we do a mix of our modern sounding origanals and older covers. the wah comes in handy in both casses. if it were lost or stolen i'd buy another. it's a very cumbersome pedal, and it's very heavy, just an extra tid bit. i wish it were more dependable. but if your decidng to weather to get one of these or a dunlop or another popular brand, go for this one. these are newer products and they are just as good if not better than it's competition, and it's something differnt not just a standard black wah. thats antoher thing, this bee-otch looks RAD!!!.

The simplest Wah in the Snarling Dog Arsenal. Pretty much just plug and play. The Manual is like the Wah itself: Simple. The metal Battery Door is a great feature, I wish the other Wah companies would pick up on this. The LEDs (Dogs Eyes) let you know when the effect is switched on (another great feature)

Sound Quality : 10
I'm using this Wah with a Gibson Les Paul, Charvel Strat, Marshall Tube combo, and Ibanez Tube Screamer.

From the Snarling Dogs website:
"The Wonder Wah 2 captures the classic or ?vintage? wah sound ... but takes it a step further, adding a wider frequency range ... crisp highs, deep bass and greater presence. True Mechanical Hard Bypass means the signal to your guitar stays true when switched off."-----------All True!!!

This wah Sounds Great for leads since it slightly boosts your signal, Running clean, however, is not one of its best attributes, my amp tends to distort sligtly when the toe is down.

Thick & Milky Wah...think Stevie Ray playing Voodoo Chile.

Reliability : 10
Big and Heavy-like a Tank. Took a Peek inside, The wah is quality made using the same Quality components as other Wah Manufacturers.

The True Bypass and the LEDs, are features people pay $$$ to upgrade Crybaby Wahs...it all comes stock with the Wonder Wah 2!! The Wah Inductor is pretty Large..Don't know if this is why it has such good tone. It's Much bigger than a Fasel, or TDK inductor.

I play Blues Based Rock (Guns N Roses, Velvet Revolver,SRV, etc,) and have been playing for about 18 years.

I have owned many, many Wahs from different manufacturers. Around 20 different wahs! From the Early 70's Thomas Crybaby, to the New Dimebag Crybaby From Hell.

The Wonder Wah 2 is by far the best Wah I've heard for Dirty Lead work. If you need clean wah, you better look elsewhere...like maybe an old Thomas Crybaby. The Wonder Wah 2 is a keeper!
