Very easy to use. Greg repaired my old MXR Distortion plus and added his "Super" and "Modern" mods to it. Made it true bypass, added a "presence" three way toggle. Basically, it sweetened the pedal up a bunch and made it a bit "sweeter" sounding.
Sound Quality

Sound quality is very good. If you like the old distortion plus sound, but perhaps wanted it to be a bit smoother and a bit more "overdriven" this is a good choise for you. Drives a tube amp very well. I use it with either a Carvin Legacy or MTS series head into a 4x12 Celestion loaded cab. I use this to drive the head a bit more a la a Zakk Wylde or Randy Rhoads concept.

I absolutely would depend on it and wouldn't gig without a backup. The pedal basically was working great up until a year ago. Greg specializes in MXR/DOD repairs and mods and was great to work with.

Greg is first rate! Great response and open to suggestions as well as having great ideas. Anything he stated he would do or deliver, he did. Pretty much ahead of schedule. I would recommend him to anyone wanting old (or new) MXR or DOD pedals modded. As well as Wahs! He did great work on my old Dunlop CryBaby.

I play heavy (classic) rock and metal. Some instrumental music as well. I've been playing over 20 years, owned just about every type of guitar and amp. I would definitely replace this if it were lost or stolen, and it's comparable in quality, sound, and workmanship to my Keeley modded pedals. It's certainly something that helps enhance my tone. If you like classic MXR (Think Randy Rhoads) tones, this is something that can help you with that. With Greg's mods, it is also MUCH more versatile than "out of the box".
