Easy to use. Like a stock SD-1. Only an added mini switch for Diode clipping. quiter chip. The mod was named after a local French canadian (Pepper) player that requested the pedal to have more volume and less "congestion".

I use this box with a JCM800's low input. I get a real good crunch out of the amp while still having the headroom to add an other OD for boosting solo's. I need a "live" rig. i don't need a recording rig at the moment. So headroom is manditory. It has an added diode clipping stage and a quieter chip. This combo opens up the pedal big time. lots of volume, doesn't sound as congested.

Standard Boss pedal. So same reliability

I play classic/hard rock. AC/DC, Priest..... Been playing on and off for over 20 years....If that meens anything. It is a Boss SD-1 so whatever you do it is an SD-1. I don't know if i would buy a new SD-1 and have it modded. But if like me you have one on the shelf just because it doesn't cut it anymore, well this will give it a new life
