I was looking for a way to plug multiple guitar amplifier heads into 1 speaker cabinet when I ran across the headtrip- a very cool rackmount piece that allows up to 3 heads to be plugged into up to 2 cabinets. (I can now bring one 4x12 to gigs! for multiple heads! )
It's a new product as I write this review, but I hardly had a problem getting up and going. I downloaded the manual online before I got (and purchased) the Headtrip. I did have to send a few emails back and forth and called tech support once. The midi channels are numbered strange in that midi channel 0 is midi channel 1. That mixed me up until I re-read it in the manual. Also the Headtrip needed to be restarted after I changed the mode and midi channel- that's what the call to tech support was about.

It sounds great. My Monster Cable from the guitar goes into the Headtrip's 1 of 2 possible instrument inputs (programmable!) and the Headtrip goes to the input of my Soldano, or two Dual Rectifiers. Each head goes back from the speaker out into the H.Trip and I have one cabinet to interchange between the heads.(3 heads) If I had room in my car I'd hook up another 4x12 for more options!(but the reason I got it in the 1st place was to not have to have a separate cab for each head- which in turn allows me to bring more heads than I normally would to gigs! Great Fun!)I actually have a Roland Jazz Chorus Combo in the FX loop too with no problems! It's all programmable via my midi foot controller (DMC Ground Control)

Only had it for 2 weeks but no problems. If the unit is hooked up incorrectly (or in case of power failure)it automatically shuts down, putting a speaker load on any head connected.
