Very easy to use: tone, volume and drive knobs. No manual necessary. Turn them until you get a good sound. LED and footswitch work as you'd imagine.

Ace sound quality - this is the prototype model.
Works great in all applications; from driving a high gain amp to pushing a medium gain amp, you can't beat this. Low noise, full bypass, transparent. Plenty of gain - wide range.

Rock-solid build quality; no backup is necessary. Solid metal box, metal jacks are chassis [not board] mounted. I've had this baby for years - gigged with it, all-good.

Being what this is, a very nice TS-808 style OD with more hair, it took maybe a couple of tries before I found a regular setting that I never stray from. Once I got to the point when I realized that the tone knob works counter-clockwise I dialed in a very sweet tone that responds well to my setup.

I use this pedal with a modded Crybaby wah, a Stigtronics Compressor, a Dice Works PNP Fuzz, a Boss CE-2 Chorus, and a B.Y.O.C Delay. My guitars are a Mexi Fender Strat with Lindy Fralins, a Japanese Fender Strat (stock pickups) and a Peavey Reactor Tele with Fender American Tele pickups. (Don't laugh, the thing f*$%%#%ng smokes!) Lastly I use a Peavey Classic 30 with a Weber Alnico Blue Dog and GT's. There's very little noise in this unit. The Overdrive can range from sweet, bluesy tones to almost fuzz at highest settings, though I use a fuzz for that purpose. The overall sound of the pedal is transparent, and works well with my setup. It doesn't sound quite like any other OD I've used, which is why I chose to buy it. It's a nice combo of a Fulldrive and a Keeley Modded Tube Screamer. Like I said, it has more hair than a TS-808, but also it has the transparent quality of a boutique unit. I can get a really nice Eric Johnson tone. (Think "Cliffs of Dover" or "Desert Rose") Very nice. It seems to work best with it's brother the compressor and the delay. I have had a lot of fun with this pedal.

Mike builds these things like tanks. I don't know how many times the switch can be used before it breaks, but I'm sure it's a lot. I have no need for a backup thus far. It's a really dependable pedal, and I've been gigging with it for a few months with no trouble.

Mike's great to deal with. He's at the music store where he sells these to talk to in person, and he's quick to email back. If I were to get this thing fixed, I'm sure he'd do a great job.

Overall, this unit stands up to its competition. OD's being the most copied and imitated in the boutique market, this one is a bargain. It's a great tool and a really pristine tone-machine.
