Couldn't be easier: a 'Volume' knob and a 'Gain' knob, an on/off footswitch and miniature toggle that selects either 'germanium' or 'silicon' diode clipping. Plug in and play. No manual necessary.
Sounded fantastic first time I tried it.

This overdrive sounds great with any tube amplifier; single-coil or humbuckers... with the toggle 'up' in the silicon mode, it drives high-gain amps with ease, without sounding 'splatty' or 'fizzy'...decreasing the gain allows nice 'clean boost' effects.
In the germanium mode, it breaks up perfectly, with more pronounced edge, sustain and harmonic distortion. Long violin-like sustain and singing feedback effects are easily done.
The germanium mode is slightly noisier than the silicon mode; both are well within levels associated with top boutique designs available today.

Mike at Stigtronics is very helpful and friendly; mods or changes are no problem, as each unit is handmade.
No troubles with mine.

In all, a very versitile and great-sounding effect unit for many styles of music; I would have another made immediately if lost or stolen. Well worth the price, in my opinion.
