Ease of Use : 10
This pedal is very easy to use. Two knobs, volume and fuzz. To get the best and most out of it I find turning the fuzz all the way up and adjusting the vol to be slightly higher than that of my amp.

Sound Quality : 9
I've tried this through 2 amps. My Marshall 30th Anniversary and my Marshall Jubilee. To get that hendrix tone the Anniversary had it hands down. Theres something quite sparkly about these amps that really allow some effects to shine. I found on the clean channel with the fuzz on it was a little to harsh and slightly deep sounding with not much top end. The 2nd channel however on the plexi 59 setting sounded just as it should. Im using a mex deluxe series strat with it with new roto sound strings and it sounded great. I set my amp up to that wind crys mary sound. More than likely played in the studio on a semi cranked 50 watt, I had to opt with my gain up half way and my vol on at 9 o clock. Still it had that chimey glassy ring to the notes and as soon as i stepped on the fuzz... wow! Ive owned a few fuzzes, including the analogman sunface, I still have the fulltone soulbender but nothing caught the vibe like this. The soul bender is great.. based on the tone bender- 3 transistors this pedal gives a slightly more wall of sound. More distortion. The Monterey fuzz breaks up nicely. The string bends and the break ups... very hendrixy!

Only had it a day. Looks very sturdy.

I read an interview about 6 months ago... with a certain man who helped a young hendrix with his pedals. He was saying how theres too many boutique pedals out there today and that he thought if we keep replicating the past then what does that say for our future!
Now I understand what this guys saying, I even own one of his vibe units but surely if you want to sound like your idols past or present you want the same gear or close to what they used? And to me this pedal nails it. My analogman was great but was a little to gritty and bassy for what I wanted from it. This fuzz cleans up better and it has more warmth in the sound. Very much a 1 trick pony but for all you guys seeking the discontinued fulltone 69 and ready to pay big bucks for 1 you may want to stick your name down on bob sweets waiting list instead as this pedal is well worth the wait!

Simple as it gets. Two knobs. No tone knob needed here! Internal tri/bias pot is BY FAR the most effective I've EVER seen.

Sound Quality : 10
First of all, It is a real honor to be the first to review this gem. Secondly, if you ONLY knew the fuzzes I have been through, wasted time and money searching for a fuzz that TRULY will replicate that amazing and magical fuzztone you hear on Jimi at Monterey and Are You Experienced....that sizzling, bluesy, round, warm authentic Fuzz Face sound that cleans up beautifully for rhythm work, with plenty of bite for leads on the treble pickup and warm and creamy on the neck pickup. Not too fuzzy, stays tight, focused and articulate. Not too smooth either like Analogman, who makes great fuzzes, but are always too smooth and lack authenticity in my opinion. Fulltone makes high quality effects but has a bad ear for tone, and I have owned many and always part with them because they always sound too sterile sounding to my ears and always lack something vital. FoxRox, Hartman, Dunlop, etc., always something off center. Sweetsound is the new King of Fuzz, sorry guys, but Bob Sweet has a set of ears that you simply cannot compete with here! I'd give the rating an 11 if I could here, but the knob won't go that high!

Wow. I could not believe how solid this unit is. Cool and unusual design. VERY small and compact! Very intelligently crafted!

Bob spent more time talking fuzz with me than any pedal designer I have ever talked to. He truly understood what I was trying to explain in terms of fuzz "tone". He took time to listen to my frustrations with fuzz makers who claim to have the "mojo", but don't deliver the goods when it's all said and done. We obviously have VERY similar ears. He was humble, highly approachable and obviously cares deeply about the quality of his effects and loves to talk fuzz. Try that with Fulltone! Just go ahead and try it! THE HIGHEST standard of customer service, PEREIOD.

OUTSTANDING and accurate replica of the vintage germanium Fuzz Face. FINALLY, my search is OVER. Makes me curious about his other effects now! Move over Rover and let Bob Sweet take over!
