The Bass Juice has everything, what is needed for this kind of effect. Especially the mix knob is a good solution.

Sound Quality : 10
Sounds really good and actually has no problems even with Speakers with Tweeters, whereas this seems to be a main problem for other distortion pedals, designed for Bass Guitar. You can even some great synth like sounds, used so often in the seventies.

Reliability : 10
Yes, there are no possible problems with this effect.

Customer Support : 10
Customer Service on the highest level.

Overall Rating : 10
In general, very good stompbox, suitable for every stage occasions.

Once you figure out that one of the knobs only corresponds with the boost, then it's pretty straightforward. Does take a bit of fiddling at first though.

I run an active Warwick Double Buck Corvette through it into a Markbass tiltback combo, and sometimes a passive vintage Swedish Egmund bass as well.

This pedal is amazingly versatile. Putting the mix low and the gain lower, you get the slightest crunch to a passive bass that makes it growl like an active bass. Cranking the gain gives you a sturdy overdrive. Cranking the gain and the mix gives you serious fuzz without losing your low end. I repeat: you don't lose the low end. Very VERY few pedals I've tried can say the same. Tapping the boost with the gain and mix way up and you've got roaring, almost synth-like fuzz. I've also found that boosting the signal with the mix at 0 gives you a straight volume increase that's good if you subsequently run your signal through pedals that require a high input gain, such as an octaver or bass synth. Definitely put one of these ahead of an octave or synth pedal in your signal chain. The tone knob is subtle but can give a needed brightening or darkening of your sound with proper usage. In short, almost anything you'd want a drive pedal to do, this pedal does.

I'm not sure there is a perfect bass driver (I underuse this pedal because I usually play clean), but among bass drivers this is the best I've tried. I played it against the EBS Valve Driver and it wins despite being less expensive. Against the Blowtorch it's no contest. I played it against the ZVex Mammoth pedal and while the Mammoth is slightly superior for heavy fuzz, that's the only thing it does, and this pedal does so much more. Probably the best of its kind on the market. A little pricy, and not much to look at, but worth it if you want a great driver.

Reliability : 9
I've had this little problem with the power adaptor cable coming loose out of the back, but that might be my adaptor cable as opposed to the actual input. Pedal works great, seems sturdy. I wouldn't throw it down the stairs but I don't need a backup.

Haven't used.

Like I say, I play mostly clean, and new wave-y altrock, so I underuse this thing. I've had it for about a year. If stolen I'd probably not buy a new one immediately, but if I did buy another driver, it'd be this one. Probably the worst thing about this pedal is that it looks kinda ugly. But who cares about that? The sound is the key.

Pretty easy to use.
Sounds good on most settings.
Many options.

Manual is found here:

Sound Quality : 10
Top quality sound.
It keeps you bass sounding like a bass. The bottom is always present. even with the tone knob turned all up, the sound never becomes too "thin"

Reliability : 9
It's a square metal box. The knobs are plastic and so is the battery latch. You would have to be an idiot to break the battery latch. The knobs could be embedded in the chassis or somehow shielded, but it would ruin the vintage look that people want these days.

I play rock mixed with whatever I feel like.
I have been playing music for almost 10 years. Guitar for 5 bass for about 4.

Setup:
Fender HW1 Jazz w. Lindy Fralins - Ebs Multicomp - T-rex Bassjuice - Eden Nemesis N28S.

If stolen or lost I would buy another one.

The mix knob is a great feature.
You can blend the clean and distorted sound, which offers you a wide range of distorted sounds.
You can create a really heavy distortion and keep it in the background so the original sound of strings and plucking is not lost in noise.

I haven't really needed the boost knob for anything yet, but having more possibilities is always nice.

I bought this pedal after a friend, who owns about 50 pedals recommended it to me. He cut his board down to 2 pedals and one of them was the bassjuice. I Have tried a few other distortions on my bass. The Boss odb sucked. The E.H. Bassballs turned me off big time. The Big muff actually sounded ok, but it lacked bottom. Bassjuice is my kind of pedal.

Quite easy to use unit since the controls are pretty much standard. The only 2 things to mention are:
- the boost switch depends on the gain setting: the hicher the gain, the more boost. So if you set gain to a fairly low level, you wont have much boost and igf you set gain to a high setting, the amount of boost might be too high.....
- the controls move very soft, so you better regularily check the settings.....

Sound Quality : 10
What shpould I say, I tried loads of overdrive/distiortion pedals/units, including guitar opedals and found none I really liked - before I tried the Bass Juice.
I play a Hotwire Vintage 5 Jazzbass and a Stingray 4 string fretless through EBS Bass IQ - Maestro Bass Brassmnaster (a fuzz monster)- Bass Juice - Dunlop 105Q Wah - Boss Octaver - TC SPF Chorus - Sans Amp DI into an Ashdown ABM 500RC EVO amp with a 4*10 and a 1*15 cabinet. Music style is independent pop with a portion of psychedelia.
The Bass Juice is able to add creamy distortion from just slightly thickening & warmthening to heavy distortion. Brilliant e.g. for chorus lines to give a bit more push and sound, or to get this Jamiroquai alike dirty but still warm and nice kind of sound....
In specific it is very very nice on fretless bass, with just a slight bit of gain and blend of 50%.
Virtually no noise just a slight hiss when setting tone to maximum treble.

No experience yet since I got it a month ago but it looks well built and reliable

Can only recommend this unit - definitely the best overdrive/distortion pedal I ever tried. It does exactly what wanted: ading warmth and thickness to my sound without cutting frequencies , altering dynamics or adding noise.

4 knobs: Gain, Mix, Tone and Volume. 2 switches: On and Boost. No real manual, but no need either... Knobs are responsive in a very even and gradual way, which is crucial especially when mixing with the clean tone (Mix knob). My only remark is the Tone knob doesn't seem to act as well as it should (when moving it to the low side, it muffles or muddies the sound a bit).

Gear: American Jazz Bass Deluxe > Boss Tu-2 > Dunlop Cry Baby 105q > Aphex Punch Factory > T-Rex Bass Juice > Boss CEB-3 or Boss FL-2B. This is definitely the best distortion pedal I've found and I've tried just about every distortion or overdrive pedal you can find in London (not the TC Electronic, in case you wondered, too much money). Very organic (reacts to playing strength), a bit harsh but you can roll most of it out with the Mix knob (although I think the Tone knob should be more helpful in that regard). I think that's my only remark. Very thick sounding, like adding layers of guitars and basses to your sound. The Boost is a fixed amount over the normal mode, so you can't really change its intensity (unless by twisting the knobs thus changing normal mode as well). But that's ok, you end up finding a sweet spot between both and it works great. I also tried the Fulltone Bass driver and didn't quite like it, as I found there was always (at least with that unit) extra bass put in that made it boomy and that I just couldn't get rid of in any way. The T-Rex may make you lose a tiny bit of bottom, but that's easily controlled with the Mix and Tone knobs and is neglectable. So you end up keeping your low end anyway. It's also great that if u want just a tiny bit of distortion, u can get it. The Mix knob is great, and it really lets the real tone of your bass pass through. Although not true bypass, I can tell no difference, but maybe for the price it should be...

Reliability : 7
As I treat my stuff with care, I know it will last, but the knobs might get broken if hit hard enough on the edge of a wall while carrying it or something. The jacks should grip the plugs better. They have a tendency to slide out a bit, has if "sqeezed" out.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them.

I play rock, basically stoner kind of thing, been playing for 14 years, mainly rock, and this pedal is perfect for it. You save space on your pedal board as you get 2 in 1, although the boost seems limited in versatility, it doesn't need anything else. The distortion is very full and versatile. The other distortions I liked in my search were the Ibanez PD7 that I sold because you always get a minimum of distortion that may be more than you want at times (no mix knob) and because despite the good bassy tone it sounded too steady and artificial, and the MXR M-80, which has a brilliant distortion, but I didn't get coz it's more than I need, with all the EQing and DI, etc, and it's not a real 2-channel distortion, as 1 is always clean. Only thing I think could be improved on the T-Rex is the Tone knob, as I think it's not as effective as it could be. Overall, my quest is over for many years, I'm sure.
